Device: XT1527 (MOTO E 4G LTE)
I know the device does not support 5ghz for wifi.
Sometimes some devices come with the 5ghz mode for the hotspot even though the wifi ac, 5ghz, option is not available, for e.g Samsung Avant.
Can anyone who owns this device find out for me if the device has the option to launch hotspot in 5ghz mode?
It should be in the configure menu under tethering and hotspot right under where you choose a password.
I really appreciate everyone's effort.
Thanks
No, it hasn't.
Hi guys,
Just asking, are there any roms for OnePlus2 that supports 5ghz mobile hotspot? Or is just the hardware that don't supports 5ghz mobile hotspot?
Thanks

You asking about oneplus 2 phone?
Then it's hardware supports dual band wifi that means you can access your dual band wifi as well as can create hotspot of dual band, for enabling dual band hotspot you just need Android marshmallow in your phone, every marshmallow ROM supports it

i hope so, tried on OOS. the 5ghz band hotspot isnt working
It works on CM 14.1. My hotspot is able to host using 802.11ac. Bandwidth is 433mhz. Beats the pants off the 2.4ghz hotspot.
Hastily spouted for your befuddlement
Try changing wifi band to 5ghz,
Settings, wifi, tree dot menu, advance

Usually newer phone has 2.4/5Ghz wifi/hotspot option(frequency bands 802.11n).
I can create a hotspot of 5Ghz frequency band like. But I cannot connect to 5Ghz frequency hotspot.
When I was using Android 6 I had the option to choose between 2.4/5Ghz wifi band.
But after the Android N update(Resurrection remix 5.8.4). The option went missing.
I'm just curious to know why this happened.
Because 5Ghz is much faster than 2.4Ghz.
Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge running android 7.0
I'm trying to add some Sonoff devices to my works WiFi network, via the eWeLink app. The app only supports 2.4ghz but my phone has a preference for the 5ghz network. Both 2.4 and 5ghz are using the same SSID and because of other devices connected I can't rename one or temporarily turn off 5ghz...
Any way round this other than buying an old phone or tablet just for adding devices?
I have the tablet and it doesn't seem that there is wifi calling. Has anyone been able to make wifi calls?
Does your carrier support wi-fi calling. If they do, do you have the right plan?
