Hi, S7 edge screen cracked with an accidental jab into a concrete ceiling.
Can I replace the screen myself? Please suggest where to get the kit.
Or is it too risky and should I just take it to a shop for professional replacement?
How much should I expect to spend either way?
Post links and suggestions please.
Thank you.

I would recommend you get Samsung to do it - go to nearest Samsung repair centre. You will have peace of mind with regards to quality and water resistance. In Australia, Samsung quotes a replacement screen ~$200 AUD . Convert to your currency, and you got an estimate.

Hiya guys.
Ive just found my precious 614c with a rather nasty crack in it after my toddler got her hands on it, the crack is on the right side, it looks like it was bitten, and it's caused about 5 cracks in the screen. i only bought the damned thing in march - but what do you suggest? there is no other damage to the machine at all that i can see, just the screen is broken.
Advice / tips would be very much appreciated.

Pretty sure warranty does not cover screen damage

seems like its a hard repair. Unless your good with soldering.
sadly it is the LCD itself its bleeding badly into the display - i think i'm screwed aren't i
I shudder to think how much it will cost to repair from HP; though i will enquire before looking into repairing it myself.
if you have anything else i could try i'd really appreciate it. i'm away to a foreign country for a long time in june and it looks like i'm screwed now without this phone

ask at HP, some models are covered by a special warranty. I had broken my screen too and HP exchanged my broken phone with a new one for free.
you can buy the lcd and screen dgitizer and repair it yourself. I had this same problem and managed to buy it and repair using very detailed step by step guides all from this site:
http://www.repairhppda.com/lcd-with-touch-digitizer-for-610-series-p-523.html
all up costing under $100 delivered.

Dear all,
Thank you for all the stuff you are sharing right here, that's really great.
I 'm quite sad because a few days ago, my tab felt the glass is badly broken .
Hopefully, the LCD and the touch screen are ok.
Gorilla glass is not that unbeatable so take care of your tabs guys.
I'm searching for a replacement part but as we are kind of early adopters, it's really hard to find ( I tried Alibaba & eBay).
If anyone know where I can find a new replacement front glass for my galaxy tab I would really appreciate to have a link.
Thanks in advance
You have a one year warranty. Call samsung.

Samsung can't do anything if it is physical damage. It's in the manual. That's what insurance is for. Or, if you purchase with Amex, they will refund you after proper paper work.

i dropped my samsung galaxy s4 on the floor! and guttingly the outer glass cracked! my touch is fully functioning and everything works fine, its just the glass is broken! has anyone had this problem and got it fix by samsung? if so how much did it cost?
i have been around most of my local phone repair shops and they wont touch it as it is very risky to do!!
please if anyone has any experience and had it fixed or can recommend anyone to do it please reply with cost!!
i am on orange.i was paying for insurance until 1st july. even though i paid my bill on the 10th apparently i cannot use a claim! i have had this phone since 2nd of may but with it no been a technical fault my warranty doesnt count does it?
Sorry to hear that. You have limited options:
- Best insurance, but I understand not possible
- Take it to Samsung for out of warranty repairs - they'll likely say they have to change the whole screen - it's about $200-$250 for parts and God knows how much for labour
- If the AMOLED is working properly and it's just the glass - the glass is replaceable but it's a difficult process - the glass costs about $25 bucks but you have to find a pro who can change it without breaking the display - also it will also void you warranty if Samsung find out
- Live with it

Yeah, all the tear down videos showed that it's easier to replace S5 LCD screen. If you want to save money, you can choose to DIY, but you should prepare complete tools and must have items such as the front screen adhesive besides an original LCD screen. You can do it as the guide paying attention to the details such as flex cable. The last, because of DIY, so you'd better regard your phone a none waterproof device any more to avoid risk.
I bought myself an insurance fot the phone from the start (25$/year) I was riding my bike on highway, the phone fell off and shattered into pieces. They got me a new phone in 72 hours. Lucky me.

That's a cheap insurance...where did you get it from?
Just found one more link teaches how to replace

Hello,
I have managed to be an idiot once again and break the screen on my S8, it's cracked and doesn't respond to touch.
I need it replaced and I am considering all options.
I am thinking of buying a replacement screen together with a precision tool kit and doing the repair myself by following some videos on youtube.
Getting it repaired by a professional may be more trouble then it's worth.
Has anyone replaced the screen on this phone? I am looking for any tips or wise words. Is there a forum I can ask more detailed questions about the repair?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
I have replaced in official service center for 280$ including service and new frame and after replacement it's still watter resistent i tested in pool
Thats why you get insurance when you buy a delicate phone like S8. I broke screen of my S8+ but thankfully had the insurance. Repair centre gave an estimate of 235$ but due to insurance i paid just 10$
There was no insurance in my country
I should have at least had a protective case on the phone. What can I say I was a bit of an idiot.
I am particularly worried about putting it together myself, mainly applying the adhesive correctly. I would really like the phone to stay water resistant.
FROM our China. to insurance i paid just 9$
It's really cheap.
