I have an AT&T galaxy s 4 SGH-1337 that i'm using on the t-mobile network.
It's unlocked and i've changed the setting to allow 4G on t-mobile (AWS).
I have an update available but i have to put in a AT&T sim to get it. If i do the update, will it re-lock the AWS band?
Phone is completely stock and not rooted.
Thanks
Edit: To clarify, i'm not to worried about the minor updates, but i'm mostly asking about the android 4.3 upgrade that samsung will push out in a few months.
if the update has a baseband update, then yes... else, no
If you put in an AT&T sim card and grab the update it's gonna be the MF3 update. Yes it will remove the AWS band.
I was on mf3 and had the aws band unlocked, when I messed up my phone Samsung flash mf3 again for me and aws was still inplace

I don't understand how since that method they definitely flash a new modem along with the stick ROM. You can always update it and if aws goes away put it back.

Hello everyone,
I have a rooted n9005 from europe. It works perfect with LTE in Europe however I cannot make it work in US (on straight talk). It appears that this network is not set up in the lteon_netlist. I have tried to add it manually, with no chance .
Can anyone who has a rooted note 3/straighttalk tell/send me what is in that file ?
thank you in advance
"lteon_netlist.xml" that is located in /system/csc/common/etc.
The n9005 only supports the international LTE bands and not the US bands. It can only connect to 2G/3G networks in the US.

I just picked up a Note 4, but was told it was the T-Mobile variant when it's actually the international N910H. This isn't a huge deal as I still love the phone and get HSDPA+ so my connection isn't too slow.
That said, I know this phone has LTE and should be able to run on the US T-Mobile network. Is there any way to activate these modems? Do I need to flash a new modem or will that just break my phone.
Thanks!
U have to only model without LTE u can Odin 910c firmware to enable LTE but u won't be able to get LTE in the USA

Well that moderately sucks. Still a great phone, just wish I had LTE

This could be a dumb question but if I want to install a N910C rom on my N910H phone, Do I just need to download the firmware from sammobile and flash it? I don't live on USA so I don't mine. If I flash a N910C stock rom, Will I be able to install a custom rom for N910C?
I have ATT branded firmware on my phone. Is there a way to make it unbranded because I feel like ATT is going to delay a update for MM (Nougat OTA Update) It is also unlocked with branded in it. I need replies! Please help!
You can flash the 935U firmware if desired. However in my opinion and experience running it, definitely has slower update support then AT&T.
The 935f has a different processor then the US carriers and 935U version and you cannot flash them.

I have already flashed T-Mobile firmware. It works good. Thank you.

T-Mobile has faster update, that's why I went for it.

Hi All. I have an unlocked G930T that I use on Cricket which uses AT&T towers. Would I see any benefit from flashing the modem.bin from the latest AT&T firmware?
No. I also use a G930T on ATT and have tried G930A firmware including the modem and actually the G930T modem seems to get noticeably better reception.
Unrelated...does the native G930T hotspot work with cricket?
Let me try it tonight and I'll report back. I've not had much need since being on Cricket.

Hotspot worked just fine.
