unable to mount /vendor or /product (invalid argument) - Huawei P9 Lite Questions & Answers

Hello,
So I tried flashing lineage os 14.1. In order to do that, I had to flash a vendor. That went wrong and now I'm getting these errors. I've flashed back the system.img through twrp but doesn't boot as it requires the vendor to be reflashed. I'm assuming the /vendor and /product partitions are corrupted? Please tell me how to format them and flash the original vendor back.

What do you mean? I know how to flash TWRP. Flash the tar file through the AP section in odin? Can I flash it with the img file? Always did it with the tar file, never had this problem....I will check the TWRP installation guide again...

[Solved] Accidentally Deleted Cache Partition

Hi Everyone,
I wanted to post this to help others that may encounter the same issue I just did.
I was running OOS 4.5.14 with Magisk 16.0 (so rooted and unlocked bootloader) and was trying to flash twrp-3.2.1-0-universal-codeworkx-cheeseburger.img using fastboot and these directions (https://www.techrrival.com/flash-recovery-adb-fastboot/) so I could then upgrade to the latest OOS (https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5/how-to/guide-upgrade-nougat-rooted-encrypted-t3734779) without a boot loop, as I have previously experienced with other directions.
Everything seemed fine and dandy, but when I pulled up TWRP Codeworkx, which was successfully installed, then rebooted to the system, I was stuck in a bootloop. I went back to TWRP, and when I put in my pin it said it cannot mount the cache partition because it does not exist. However, when I am in TWRP and go all the way back to "/" I do see a "cache" folder.
So, what I did was I tried wiping cache and Dalvick it said it was successful. Here was the output:
Failed to mount '/cache' (Invalid argument)
Updating partition details...
Failed to mount '/cache' (Invalid argument)
...done
Full SELinux support is present.
Data successfully decrypted
Updating partition details...
Failed to mount '/cache' (Invalid argument)
...done
Wiping Dalvick Cache Directories
Cleaned: /data/dalvick-cache...
-- Dalvick Cache Directories Wipe Complete!
Formatting Cache using make_ext4fs...
Updating partition details...
...done
I think when the last few lines somehow fixed it, but I am not sure to be honest. Things seem to be working fine now. :victory:

Can't get zips to install with twrp or adb ze520kl

I had previously been able to flash roms on my ze520kl, had it rooted with magisk running xenon android 8.1
I had some issues with the phone not taking my pin so I attempted to restore and reflash, but nothing had worked so now I've done a full data wipe and its refusing to take any rom zip files including stock.
I've tried reflashing stock boot.img and recovery.img and going back to twrp and reflashing but I keep getting error:7 and its saying that it can't mount /system and /cache
mount: failed to mount /dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/system at /system: invalid argument
What can I do to fix this? Let me know if you need more info
possibly solved, seems to be flashing from internal storage just fine. I was going from external SD before

Flashed new OnePlus 5 firmware, phone stuck on LineageOS loading screen

So I am trying to upgrade my version of LineageOS from 14 to 15.1. I was having problems because my phone didn't have the '/vendor' partition. I heard that re-installing OxygenOS will mount '/vendor' so that's what I tried to do. However, I was still getting the error about not having '/vendor' mounted, so I tried using a version of TWRP that removed the check for '/vendor'. Unfortunately, I still could not install OOS. Then, I tried to just flash updated firmware for my phone, which should install the '/vendor' partition, but now I am stuck on the Lineage loading screen.
When I boot back into recovery, TWRP does not ask me for my phone password, and all the files are encrypted (or hashed, or whatever). This could be a problem for my phone loading?

Have you used latest blu spark or codeworkx recovery with vendor partition support? Also mounting the created vendor partition within twrp might be necessary after flashing stock oos and proceed further.

How to fix failed to mount /vendor (invalid argument)?

I have just installed TWRP recovery for PIE while wiping I got this error " failed to mount /vendor (invalid argument" I haven't taken any backup can't copy any file to internal memory how do I flash any rom now? Does any have any backup? .
If you use latest TWRP and non treble ROM, ignore that error and proceed to flashing ROM.
