Hi guys,
I've been searching all over the show but can't seem to find leaked Nougat firmware for my device :/ it's a C183 released in New Zealand. Anyone know if there was actually firmware leaked for the C183 region?
cheers

I purchased the 2 degrees stock firmware for NXT-L09_C183B130_Firmware_New Zealand_Brightstar NZ Limited_Andriod 6.0_EMUI 4.0_05013NLM
Link is here https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3pCekrpvWeaNk5meFMtR1dadms/view?usp=sharing
I have that version, I updated to B330 and my cust get broke (C900), but the system with EMUI 4.1 works fine, I tried to update to nougat but the system does not allow with C605 and C432. Maybe with other version work the update.
Yeah I also purchased through 2degrees. Unfortunately it seems firmware for this region hasn't been released still... I was expecting an update back in Feb. Frustrating.
Iv'e still seen nothing
I remember when I was using the Mate2, there were countless debates if/when LL5 was going to be released.
Huawei stated by the first half of 2015. It was released I think it was JUNE 30TH...the "last" day of the first
half of 2015.
If that holds true this time, then they announced Nougat 7 for the Mate 8, "by the end of the 1st quarter of 2017"
would mean...by March 31st. Just something to think about.
Personally, I'm holding off. I can wait. I use a BT headset for the phone, and use it A LOT. The past 4 phones I've
had, I've never used it by holding the phone to my ear, only through the headset. I've seen scattered reports of
issues (not just the Huawei phones), of glitches with bluetooth on nougat.
Marshmellow for me, on the mate8 is VERY stable, so it's a choice. If you gotta have the latest/greatest, there are
sources you can find to download it, but, if you want stable, you might want to wait a while.

Nope still no sign of c183 nougart firmware and now it's may. I am beginning to believe that Huawei are not going to release firmware for this region. It may be potentially due to the poor sales of the device in the region. Who knows. I have not been able to find a single other firmware variant that will flash to the phone. It's disappointing that we've been let down like this with it being a flagship device.
Does anyone have the backup of the cust for this region firmware? I will Rollback my update from 330 (Where I lost my cust), and I will try to change the region, Does anyone tried to change the region to get updates?

these were taken from partition backup manager a few months ago ...these are from NZ L09-C183B150 EMUI 4.0
I have managed to upgrade to Nougat EMUI 5 using firmware finder without root or unlocking boot loader....following L29-636 Starting from file from B180 I didn't change cust but after first update it changed to L29 636 and has had no problems at all
The B585 is smooth and I have had no issues with batter drain or restarts at all...very happy with this after 3 weeks no problems at all.
The only issue was that after B330 which updated successfully, I did discover that my bootloader did get unlocked so I used DC Unlocker to re lock again which cost me 6 credits....now unrooted and bootloader locked.

This is not for the faint hearted , You need to make sure you have backups of oem.info and cust for for the NZ model.
Also have the NZ firmware update app if needed, here on my google drive....unzip and place extracted update.app onto your SDCARD in dload folder
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3pCekrpvWeaNk5meFMtR1dadms/view?usp=sharing
Using HCU Client read phone info take a a screen shot with repair UMTS with of your serial number, imei number, & sub imei, WIFI & bluetooth MAC vendor etc...store this on your PC because you may need these settings if you lose modem settings after unbricking from DC Phoenix
I then would recommend that you have DC Phoenix on stand by and bookmark this link
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/help/nxt-c900b180-to-nxt-l29c432b330-easily-t3611500 even though its for 432 it will still get you unbricked if it all goes sour.
Now....just to clarify I was on stock firmware L09C185B130 same as your model (shared from link above)with locked bootloader and no root make sure you have developer mode enabled and OEM unlock enabled.
If any of the above is confusing then I would recommend that you go no further.
1st Install Firmware finder and and Firmware finder proxy. enable proxy port in wifi settings ie localhost port 8080
2nd Open FF go to settings and enable USE PROXY TO INSTALL disable SHOW PACKAGES FROM CURRENT REGION
3rd Open go back to FF start and type in NXT-L09636 and click search go to the first and lowest firmware which is B170 download and then install via proxy thru normal update it will show up in Phone settings system update if it doesn't then go back into FF settings and tell it to use proxy to install and then push system update to detect.
This should install without any hitches but you will notice now your firmware will be c900b170
goto FF again and choose the next firmware which is 180 then 193 then 211 etc etc when you get to 330 you will have to trial and error which file will work, I started with the largest full OTA but I dont remember in the end which one worked I think I had 3 or 4 goes if it fails it will stop at 15% and then stop you will have to force reboot thru holding power key but it should boot to normal and then just try another firmware of the same number.
when you get to b330 you should find you have changed to L29636B330 but you will now have unlocked bootloader? not sure why? anyway....keep trial and error updates until you get to B585
Hope it works good luck

When you converted your L09 to L29 did u get dual sim menu in Settings?
I want to crossflash my L09C432 to L29C432 so i can use dual sim function.
It works on Mate 9 and P10 singel sim when crossflash.
Just want to check if it is the same on Mate 8?

I change the region and the model to L29C636, thanks to Mickie's helps, my steps:
1. I install the B330, wich a get from the Firmware official thread, and I used the 3 button method.
2. With SRK Tool, unlok the bootloader and get root .
3. Again with SKR Tool, change the region, (Change oeminfo and custom bin) to Asia (C636) and model (L29).
4. Donwload and Install the L29C636B330 (3 button method), I have to make a Factory Reset, with this firmware I lost the root and get locked the bootloader.
5. When I start normally, automatically get the update by OTA to L29C636B563.

Hey Guys,
I tried updating my tablet from 4.1 to 5.0 and now i am having some issues. I have no keyboard and my fingerprint sensor doesn't work anymore. So i have no way of doing anything. When I try to bring up the keyboard i get the google voice window.Build number shows BTV-W09C128B350. Trying to understand the steps i need to do to get my tablet back and running normally. Do I need to go back to 4.1? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

How did you do the update? Did you use Firmware Finder and it's DNS update or did you use the dload folder method? I used the Firmware Finder method and everything went smoothly even with an unlocked bootloader, You might try to use that method to reinstall Nougat, but you will need a keyboard to change your DNS settings to the one Firmware Finder needs and for that I suggest you try a USB keyboard connected through an OTG cable.
I will say that once you get Nougat working, the 5Ghz radio goes back to not working and the file that needs to be updated to enable it seems to have changed. So far, I can not find the correct file/setting to change to enable it. For me it is more annoying that I can't get it working than necessary because I am getting between 20 and 40 Mbs with the 2.4Ghz radio and that is plenty fast for what I ask this tablet to do.

i Johje,
I was able to rollback to Android 6.0 and 4.1. Do you have instructions on how you did the Firmware finder update?
Thanks again for your help
Erik
I used Firmware Finder to update to the most recent Full Update for the US version. After Selecting the firmware choose "Get an update through DNS" and follow the instructions. This will install the beta Nougat and restore your recovery partitions even if you have an unlocked bootloader. Once the tablet has Nougat installed, root by installing TWRP to the Recovery2 partition which will replace eRecovery and leave your main recovery in place. Use TWRP to Flash Magisk and PHH Superuser to root the tablet because from my experience SuperSU does not work for Nougat on this table. Once rooted you can enable the 5Ghz radio by finding the "cfg_btv_hisi.ini" file in the "cust_spec\vendor\etc" directory and then just change "band_5g_enable=0" option to "band_5g_enable=1" , after rebooting the 5Ghz wireless will be enabled.
Hope this helps

I have also tried to update to 5.0. Everything seemed fine, but there is no keyboard, calc, file manager, etc. The "full..hw.." update seems to go really fast and it says it's done but there is no difference in what is on the tablet. Now I'm stuck at the point where it's A7.0, but I cannot do anything. Try getting google voice type to enter a complex email password
Any help on the second phase of the update is appreciated.

Can you use Firmware Finder in your tablet's current state? If so, try updating using Firmware FInder's DNS method. You will need to be able to update your network DNS settings, though. Have you tried using a corded keyboard connected through an OTG cable or a bluetooth keyboard?
I did not try using the dload method because earlier attempts an updating Marshmallow to a more recent build always failed because of my unlocked bootloader.

Unfortunately I could not fgure out how to do anything with it in that state (no keyboard, no internet, etc.). I tried to find a quality rollback for USA, but was not sure of what was out there that was correct. I ended up installing a EU version so at least it's working again (with old Android). I also realized the next day that my USB cord was bad and that's why I could not ADB or Fastboot anything. I'll try an upgrade again in the near future. Thx.

How did you install the EU old version? do you have link to the ROM?
hey guys
i just brick my phone (no idea how, flashed android 7 firmware) after flash my phone was working for like 2 hours, then i let himself update a security options. After update my phone went brick
As far i found :
- installed Qualcoom QDLOADER 9008 driver
- found QFIL programmer
i need to have programmer path (something related to JTAG) and build xmp path
Where i can find them? Or is it a other way to resscue my phone?
I feel your pain. My timeline:
- The phone was unlocked but still in Stock Nougat (7.0?). Got that from OTA in Brazil.
- I tried to update to LineageOS 7 via TWRP. After a full wipe (everything, system, data, card, cache etc) I installed the new ROM. Turned on, bootlooped forever.
- Searching around I found out that there was no modem in the Nougat roms and for some reason I needed to flash a Marshmallow modem for my region to make that work (I think there is no Nougat modems around or something).
- I found a LA_DS modem for 6.0, flashed that using TWRP, still bootloop. Tried other roms using TWRP, still bootloop.
- I then downloaded a full stock old 6.0 firmware to go back to stock but the phone wouldn't accept some files ("preflash validation failed").
- Searched around and found out that you can't downgrade a bootloader from Moto.
- Using fastboot, I flashed the files the phone was willing to accept and it finally booted the 6.0 Marshmallow stock rom, but with no networking (radio/modem/baseband/IMEI missing).
- Flashed the 6.0 modem for my region again and everything worked. Connected on WiFi, dual sim cards detected etc.
- I started to install every update the phone showed to try to update it back to latest MM version.
- The three first updates went ok, the fourth turned off the phone to never turn on again.
Looks like there is no way out of this. My phone is pretty old and MotoCare in Brazil will charge a lung and a half for repair.

Pretty similar situation on my part. I downgraded back to 6.0 and when it tried to take the December update I ended up with the same thing as you. I ended up getting a replacement from Moto for under 100 dollars which was worth it rather than trying to find a solution that doesn't exist.
Hi
I have a Huawei ascend G7 purchased in the UK from “Carphone warehouse” who seem to have been the only UK supplier of this model
The model is G7-L01
Android 4.4.4
EMUI 3.0
Custom version CUSTC432D001
My problem is a few banking apps I rely on have now stopped working as their updated versions insist on android 5 or higher
There has never been an OTA update for this phone since I purchased It
The only official ROMS listed on their website I can find seem to be for the G7-L11
I contacted Huawei support who confirmed that the particular model and custom version I have has no official updates newer than I am currently running and there no planned updates for it.
What are my options for getting this phone upgraded ? if possible I’d like to go with a stock ROM. could I use one from another region ?
Although I’ve had lots of phones in the past that I’ve put custom ROMS on I’ve always tried to keep this phone as stock because the same banking apps I rely on wouldn’t work properly on my last phone because they detected it had been rooted.
Searching these forums I’ve found a few guides but nothing for the particular custom version I have. I don’t know if this matters ? I don’t want to risk bricking it with an incompatible ROM
Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer
OK this is weird.
3+ years of no OTA updates. I enquire with Huawei and am told there are none and it is out of support.
Less than a week later and I'm being offered an OTA update.
Staggering coincidence ?
Only thing is it is reporting that I should download and do an SD card update instead of an OTA update as it is detecting that my device has been "modified".
I seem to recall I unlocked it a long time ago to try and root it but the root was unsuccessful.
Update is Android 5.1
EMUI 3.1
G7-L01C432B350CUSTC43D002
I just need to find it somewhere :-/

Hi,
I also got this update notification on Saturday night. I have had this phone for 2 years now and never got a OTA notification until 2 days ago. The phone was working great, good battery life after 2 years and good performance. I use it mainly for youtube, whatsapp, some browsing, music, and calling.
Well, decided that updating to 5.1 would be a good idea but it hasnt. I cannot make any calls (phone disconnects and connects constantly to the mobile network, so every 2 seconds the "only emergency calls" message pops up and doesnt let me make calls). Same for receiving calls, when someone calls me it rings for 2 seconds and then it appears that call has been hung up, then it rings again, 2 seconds and hang up again... the constants connections and disconnections are drainning my battery (from 100% to 7% in 1.5 hours). Contacts didnt work and also messages either. As you go into one of them, it kicks you out of the list to the main screen. Of course this issue affects Data Mobile; I cannot use my phone internet unless its by Wifi.
Going into airplane mode stopped drainning problem plus contacts and messages are working now, but as soon as you turn airplane mode off you wont be able to go into contacts or messages/signal problems back.
Nothing of this happened when I had 4.4.4 version, so its clearly a software issue. Im gonna try doing a hard reset/factory defaults, since I could backup my contacts. And if this doesnt solve the problem, I think the best idea would be custom ROM/go back to 4.4.4.
This is a good phone, if good software is installed on it. It can last some more years.

Hi. I had exactly the same problems on my moms Ascend G7. She updated that OTA and mobile network got constantly shut off and on again. I solved it by doing a backup by Huawei HiSuite over PC. And then reflashed version 340 again manually (instructions at Huawei-Blog). Mobile networks are working again after flash but phone is still not working 100% correct. She gets randomly her mic muted in most calls, or recently her "back" button in navbar disappeared today...?
I'll either downgrade to 4.4.4 version or try lineage os soon.

I solved it too! In my case I backed up my contacts to the micro SD card and did factory wipe/reset from the recovery menu (by restarting and pressing vol+ + power). I had all my data in my micro SD card so there wasnt any need to backup or anything. After doing this factory reset everything is working fine: phone signal, calls, contacts, messages, battery life, etc. I installed back the few apps I had and now everything fine, even performance is good! same as in 4.4.4. Im gonna stick with lollipop for a while, If I find any issue itll be time for a custom ROM or downgrade to 4.4.4
Cheers:good:
Hey you know how to to root g7l01
Edit: I worked out my issues, I'll leave this here in case others have similar trouble:
I needed to manually add in the RAW F53XX files from the github (https://github.com/Androxyde/devices/tree/master/F53XX), this allowed Flashtool to correctly detect the type of phone and apply the fsc. I was then able to flash my desired firmware, I chose the 6.0.1 release for Journalists to begin with as a test. This confirmed my suspicion that it was a software update issue causing the proximity sensor to malfunction (stuck on) and also fixed up the FACTORY STARTUP SERVICE-POWER OFF bug and the Warrantytimeservice permanent notification. I can now look at updating to later versions of Android and find the latest version before I have issues again.

tl;dr - I need a guide that actually works on downgrading the F5321 to a specific stock Android version with a locked bootloader.
I recently received a new, old stock version of the X Compact (F5321) that appears to be a HK variant as it started up with the Chinese language selected.
It was initially stock Android 6.0.1 with no apparent problems. After OTA updating all the way through to 7.1.x and onward to the latest 8.0, I now receive the "FACTORY STARTUP SERVICE" problem. Even if I'm quick enough to disable the service for the service flag, the proximity sensor does not work as well after updating, making phone calls impossible. I believe the issue is all related to software, not hardware. I want to downgrade to 6.x and go from there before I have to send it back for another replacement.
I'm having trouble with getting Flashtool to correctly detect and identify the firmware files that I want to flash. I want a completely stock version of Android, so keeping the bootloader locked is fine for me.
After downloading the firmware that I want to try, XperiFirm will close and Flashtool will successfully build the FTF. After clicking the lightning bolt > flashmode > the firmware list is blank.
I'm using Flashtool 0.9.26 (I have tried older versions as well with the same problems) with driver signature enforcement disabled and correct drivers installed to detect the phone.
The last time I used Flashtool was to flash my older Z5 Compact, I didn't have any issues then and it was all done within 10 minutes. I've already spent more than 5 hours on this phone and would appreciate any help.
I seem to have the exact same problem with a Hong Kong-sourced X Compact. I am familiar with Flashtool, and have used it for basic flashing of firmware. This time, however, I am experiencing the dreaded "FACTORY STARTUP SERVICE" problem. Was wondering if Flashtool could be used to circumvent the problem. I simply want the USA Android 8.0 firmware on the phone. I am not familiar with the various options that Flashtool offers. I note that you mention a specific script(?) that can be installed. Do you have any advice? Thanks

The "FACTORY STARTUP SERVICE" and to a lesser extent, "Warrantytimeservice" problems surface only in the later version of Android. The only way I could remove them was by staying on 6.0.x only. Anything higher, and the problems show up again. It seems to be a byproduct of upgrading the HK variant that wasn't designed to actually be software upgraded - you won't be able to have the US 8.x firmware on the phone.
Sorry to say, but you'll be stuck on 6.0.x if you want a usable phone. I should mention that I was never able to maintain a newer firmware on that particular phone.
I've since sent the Compact X back (it was meant to be a gift) and replaced it with a Samsung A20.

I'm using SO-O2J and a sim card not docomo. Use the "Repair" in Xperia Companion and it auto flash Android 7.0

Try different region's roms on www.xperiablog.net and I hope you'll be successful to find nougat or oreo at last for your phone.
Remember xperia devices do not need to unlock bootloader for downgrade...

Thanks; I was able to obtain an X Compact originally for the UK market, and was able to successfully flash the US Oreo firmware. All seems to be in order.
