I've had the phone since Sunday. It was fine but have started to notice when I turn volume up/ down etc. The volume dialog box takes 20 odd seconds to close. Any ideas?
Thanks

Twice in the last 4 days now I have come to my phone pressed the power button to wake up my phone and nothing happens. Both times I have had to do a hardware restart with power and volume up pressed.
It has happened after it has been fully charged when I go to use it first thing in the morning. Probably not an alarm as it happened on Saturday first and there was no alarm set.
I know the phone was still on because on the second occasion the notification LED was not flashing but got no response.
My alarm never went off. I am fortunate that after the first time I questioned the reliability of the N4 and set my N7 as a second alarm.
Only App I have recently installed is Chrome Beta, uninstalled to be on the safe side.
Has anyone else had this issue, or got any idea what could be causing it!?
Fingers crossed 4.2.2 is real and it has fixes for this stuff!!!
Try doing a factory reset. Are you rooted? What kernel are you using?

Just stock factory. Very few apps installed as I don't use that many (browser for most things).
Could try factory reset...
while your screen is on and in the home screen, long press power button until you get presented with shut-down options, then long press the "power off" button until you're presented with "reboot to safe mode"
use your phone in safe mode for a day or two and see if the problem repeats itself.
if the problem does not repeat itself, that means an app you've installed has changed something.and is the cause of your problem.
Try press the volume button before press the power button to wake it up. I also encounter this problem occasionally and manage to turn the screen on with the volume down then power

Could it be that your power button "sticks" and it ends-up as if you press it for 10 seconds it just restarts as it should?

No it cant because if i hold the button for 10 sec it normally restarts but in this case device become unresponsive. Even sometimes it gets half dimmed and rarely it takes more than 30 seconds to go for a restart. And rarely it locks the screen after 10 sec unresponsiveness.

Hi guys. It's only me or when I want to end a call the screen takes 2-3 seconds to wake up?

ROM: Cyanogenmod
Android OS ver.: 4.4.2
Device: Nexus 4
Apparently, using CleanMaster to clear up RAM and locking my phone at the same time is a bad combination.
My Nexus 4 is now bricked somehow.
I remember my battery is about 60% and above.
My "Hold" button is broken so I used Cyanogenmod's double tap on status bar to lock screen function mostly.
The "Hold" button will work if I pressed the "Sweet" spot.
I tried calling my Nexus 4 and there's a dial tone but my Nexus 4 do not have any indication that there's a call.
No vibration or ringtones.
There isn't any LED light indicating my phone is in critical state.
I believe my Nexus 4 is still "Online" as I still can call it.
Please help! What should I do now? I think I'm the first one to have this problem.

Well, I don't know if i'm pressing the "Sweet" spot but I tried holding for more than 60 seconds. Nothing happens.
I think my phone is having CPU or RAM lock?
Any more ideas to force reboot my device? :crying:

I've tried and held it more than 60 seconds again.
both holding Volume up + Power and Volume down + Power doesn't work.
Thanks for the suggestions though!
I'm still confused.. why did this happened? :l
Oh.!!! After constantly pressing volume up and down with power button and power button alone.
I couldn't tell if my phone had shut down, I tried calling my phone and there was no dial tone!
I tried powering on at the same time and a logo on the screen came up!
My phone is working fine now!
Lesson learned: Do not Clear RAM with Clean Master and lock screen at the same time.
Current Battery Level: 25%
Thank you all!

glad it's working. just to let you know you don't need to clear ram since Android 2.0 eclair. So don't use those apps.

Got ya. Thanks for the advice.
Hey guys I've had 2 s7 edges the second one being my current one. They've both had problems with the power button, it won't work. I push it and it doesn't turn on the screen nor does it turn it off when the device is on. Has anyone else had this problem?

Mine is working fine
There seems to be a bug where the volume down and power button become unresponsive. Holding down power and volume down together will make it reboot and fix it.
I can confirm that holding down the power button and volume down even tho they seem unresponsive, still reboots the device and resolves the issue. Hopefully it doesn't come back
