Backstory: My cat chewed on my usb cable while it was charging (stock cable and turbo wall adapter). Phone was off when i discovered it. I plugged in the chewed cable to test it out but it immediately shuts down the phone when i plug it in. Could this be due to a voltage protection from damaged cable?
I replaced the cable but now my phone wont charge on ANY wall adapter, nothing appears or happens when plugged in. But when i plug the phone into my PC it recognizes it and charges it (slowly). Any experience this charging issue?
Which wall adaptors have you tried charging with, and is this with different wall sockets?
Do other devices charge from the same wall adaptors okay?

I tried using the stock turbo charger and various other 5v/2a generic chargers. I even tried a friends Huawei stock turbo charger. My motorola stock turbo charger works on other phones so i know it still functioning

Hey guys.
Weird thing I've noticed after updating to ICS, is that now when I plug my phone into the wall it doesn't charge.
USB charging seems to be fine, as does charging it through a usb to wall adapter.
My home charger works, which is 5v 500ma but the chargers at work were 5v 1a and it didn't charge.
I've just found it really odd, and was wondering if anyone knew why as it used to work fine.
The wall adapter that came with the phone is listed at 2A. I can charge my phone there fine. It also charges on my computer (albeit slowly), through a 1A car inverter.
However, a while back I had also purchased replacement wall outlets, rated at 2A: http://www.lowes.com/pd_437535-334-...7745w&pl=1¤tURL=?Ntt=tr7745w&facetInfo=
My previous S3 charges fine off of it - but my S4 never goes into the "charging mode". I've tried using the USB cable that came with the S4 (that charges fine on computer and the Samsung wall plug), as well as a 3rd party cable that I was using on the S3.
Any ideas why it won't charge on the Cooper wall outlet?
Thanks
I have a multi-port AC USB charger with 2.1A charging port.
When I plug in my phone it complains about being plugged into a "bad" charger (see picture).
Thoughts on what's going on?

It's probably because you're using something that only has the micro USB, not the little extension that the S5 expects (I don't know the name).
i have charging issue with my note 3. it's only charge on usb cable, i tried different types if chargers but it doesn't charging.
i tried 5v 3A, 5v 2.1A, 5.1v 750ma, 5v 700ma all of these aren't charging my phone but show charging icon when i connect them, but with pc it charge okay but very slow.
any help?
Have you tried using different cables?
Make sure you use the original cable from samsung.
Well this is odd, happened overnight too suddenly.
The phone now only takes a change when it's plugged into a Samsung wall charger. I have no idea what could have happened, I woke up like I normally do, phone happened to be off. Plugged it into my normal cable which is in a hardwired USB wall outlet. Wouldn't start charging, the lightning bolt didn't go away. Tried different cables, nothing. Tried different USB wall outlets, nothing. Finally dug out a white Samsung white USB wall charger, plugged it into the same wall outlet the USB charger is built into, used the same cable that was plugged into the wall, and it started fast charging. I have never even seen fast charging before this. Tried different cables with the wall charger, they all work.
Things that no longer work also include plugging the cables into my USB ports on my laptop. The same white usb cable that worked with the Samsung wall charger wont charge on the laptop. Actually, now that I am trying it the laptop / phone doesnt even detect a data connection anymore. The lightning bolt on the phone shows that its plugged into some kind of source but I am watching the battery drain.
So what the heck could be going on? Samsung charger works perfectly and the phone charges back up but anything other than the Samsung charger does nothing
