Htc Touch Diamond Wall Charger for SGS

Hi all! I have a htc diamond wall charger. As some of you might know, it plugs to a usb cable. Can anyone tell me if i can plug sgs data cable to the diamond's wall charger and charge the SGS?
Yes, you can. But it probably will only charge at a slower rate @ 500mA. Sometimes, when battery level is very low, 500mA probably won't be enough to start the charging. So, don't leve home without the OEM charger.
Yes, you can. I do this using a miniUSB to microUSB adaptor plug that I keep on the end of a USB-A Male to miniUSB cable.
From memory, the HTC charger is rated at 5.0V @ 1.0A, which is greater than the OEM Galaxy one (700mA I think?). I even use the same microUSB plug with the HTC car charger for the Galaxy.
Yes, the stock HTC charger is probably rated at 1A but SGS is very picky about the charger. Unless the charger is properly terminated, the phone will only use regular USB mode (500ma MAX). You can check which mode your phone is charged as by going to Settings->About Phone->Status->Battery Status. If it says "Charging (AC)", it recognizes the charger as AC charger and can charge at higher current (up to 1A). If it says "Charging (PC USB)", it does not recognize the charger as AC charger and charges at 500mA max mode.
Update: my HTC charger from my AT&T Pure (TD2) shows up as AC charger for my SGS. So, it should operate in full 1Amp mode.

Unable to charge from wall.

Hey guys.
Weird thing I've noticed after updating to ICS, is that now when I plug my phone into the wall it doesn't charge.
USB charging seems to be fine, as does charging it through a usb to wall adapter.
My home charger works, which is 5v 500ma but the chargers at work were 5v 1a and it didn't charge.
I've just found it really odd, and was wondering if anyone knew why as it used to work fine.

Galaxy s4 wall charger's cable cut.

So its been a while since my s4 i9500 wall charger's cable been cut. Although the phone does get charged up. It isnt charging up quickly as it used to before the wire was cut. Sometimes the phone doesnt even charge even thought the battery icon shows that it is charging.
Now, I have been thinking of replacing the charger. But do i have to buy the charger or should i just replace the cables? I have a lot of micro usb cables . Can i use them with the adapter to charge up my phone?
You can use quite literally any micro-usb 2.0 cable and any usb charger to charge it; however, to achieve the maxium charging speed (1900mah) you will need a high quality shielded micro-usb cable (like the stock Samsung cable) and a 2A (or higher) usb charger (like the stock Samsung charger or an iPad charger).

So what charging method is faster?

I have both a QC car charger and a USB C to USB C charger as well.
I know USB C gives 5v/3A and QC gives variable charging from 9v/1.67A and down (QC 2.0)
Anyone run tests?
the phone lockscreen gives you an estimate on how fast your phone will charge to 100% when it is plugged or on a wireless charger. Less time, faster charger.
If I use my S7 cable with the USB-C adapter, it charges 3 times faster than the adaptive wall charger.

Phone charges via PC but not through wall adapter

Backstory: My cat chewed on my usb cable while it was charging (stock cable and turbo wall adapter). Phone was off when i discovered it. I plugged in the chewed cable to test it out but it immediately shuts down the phone when i plug it in. Could this be due to a voltage protection from damaged cable?
I replaced the cable but now my phone wont charge on ANY wall adapter, nothing appears or happens when plugged in. But when i plug the phone into my PC it recognizes it and charges it (slowly). Any experience this charging issue?
Which wall adaptors have you tried charging with, and is this with different wall sockets?
Do other devices charge from the same wall adaptors okay?

I tried using the stock turbo charger and various other 5v/2a generic chargers. I even tried a friends Huawei stock turbo charger. My motorola stock turbo charger works on other phones so i know it still functioning
