As there are enormous bugs in the lolipop ota update for lenovo a6000 and a6000 plus I decided to revert back to Android KitKat.
Note: (For advanced users only) Go ahead if you have a little knowledge about flashing a stock rom.
1. Here is the link for the tutorial to revert back to KitKat for lenovo a6000 which also works for lenovo a6000 plus with some extra efforts
(although there is QFIL, flashing through the lenovo downloader is recommended as well as easy)
Mod edit: Link removed
Flashing requires a UPS backup or a laptop which won't shutdown in the middle as this process requires 6-8 mins
Done for Lenovo a6000.
IMP Note:
i. Do not unplug the usb cable if after plugging in the phone in download mode the adb interface driver is not installed by windows and flashing is started. Its normal.
ii. In lenovo downloader it will seem like the flashing is stuck after some seconds but it is not so the flashing is going on so DO NOT UNPLUG THE USB.
iii. In lenovo downloader in the step tab only the firehose is seen but it doesn't mean that flashing is stuck. Let the process finish without disturbing the USB cable. It will require 6 to 8 minutes or 15 minutes max.
Now futher steps for Lenovo a6000 plus:
This flashing will make your lenovo a6000 plus into lenovo a6000 and won't display ram and rom properly in device as well as your computer when connected via USB.
So for lenovo a6000 plus after flashing the lenovo a6000 stock rom:
2. you need to boot into cwm by fastboot https://youtu.be/giBK8LsL-Ko
3. and recover the cwm backup from the cwm recovery http://techolaty.net/lenovo-a6000-plus-stock-rom-cwm-backup/
4. Reboot your device from the same custom recovery after the restore is complete.
5. First boot will take up to 5-6 mins after that do a factory reset from the settings menu or from the stock recovery. If you don't perform a factory reset you will see your internal storage as 4.33gb only.
Video guide
All firmware updates work for Lenovo A6000 as we have flashed the original stock rom of lenovo A6000.
But as there is no stock rom available on the internet for lenovo A6000 plus, The minor firmware updates wont work for Lenovo A6000 plus it gives a status 7 error even after flashing the stock recovery, however the lollipop update gives an error status 14 but works fine.

You dont need recovery backup to restore from recovery., You can flash the whole ROM all the way
this is too hard, but there is a simple way to revert back to kitkat

Try to use adb first then flash new twrp
My A6000 plus is restarting continuously but it is entering in fastboot mode and download 9008 mode. Is it really a battery problem or something motherboard problem because I tried each and every method like flashing by QFIL with ROW firmwares like S013,S034,S061 etc. But phone isn't turning on normally it is bootlooping. Please help??. Not booting in stock recovery also.
I am using all in one tool for changing my ROM but while unlocking bootloader it is showing an error.
ADB is out of date
What should I do?
I am using cm 12 right now.
hi everybody
i'm new at lenovo development thread ,and as i'am bored of laggy a6000 firmware especially after updates i decided to do root and flash custom roms so i did root successfully and installed TWRP recovery and then downloaded Carbon rom and placed it on memory and flashed "CM11 MoStock v1.48 .img"Kernel ,after flashing kernel system couldn't start and stucked on Lenovo logo and i think it's normal as the kernel not compatible with the stock rom so on TWRP i did wipe for data ,cach and dalvik cach and flashed the rom but i'm not sure if it was flashed properly or not it always says at the start of installation "not found MD5 " and after 2 minutes it say successful
after rebooting system it goes on bootloop and now i don't no what i have to do to please help me

if we directly flash through recovery then phone stuck on lenovo logo.
Dear All
Im stuck at yu logo bootloop. I have gone almost through all posts. And was unable to get a solution.
I bought my phone with Yu os KitKat version. Rooted and installed twrp. Installed resurrection remix and was working fine, except for the battery. So decided to install quake Os. As it is from.android 5.1 . Got stuck at bootloop. So afterwards clean wiped using twrp and installed nitrogen os. Which worked, but no compatible gapps. Then decided to come back to cm11 stock rom. Which again crashed and was having vertical blue line issue which I sorted out by flashing cm13(flash_all.bat file). But still in bootloop. Flashed cm12(flash all) . Still on bootloop. Finally tried ygdp with Yu os reliance jio firmware, again on bootloop. Can someone help me? Is there any solution.
If someone can help, im.sharing my what'sapp number +91.9744.75.7702. hope someone can help me. And I bet all files and links given the posts are now either not working or the downloads has been expire and cannot be downloaded again. So kindly post on the links for a solution.
Thanks in Advance. Hope the moderator can understand my situation.
I tried to install a custom rom on a a6000. I installed the lolipop stock rom on top of the KitKat stock rom, and managed to boot to it without a problem. I then installed TWRP installed is: 3.3.1-0, and tried to install a custom rom (more specifically I tried this unofficial Lineage). For some reason, the installation fails with:
e3004: This package is for device: Kraft-T, a6000, K30-T,A6000, Kraft-W, Kraft-C, k30t, msm8916,Kraft-A6000,wt86518; this device is .
Updated process ended with ERROR 7

when booting into the stock lolipop rom installed I can see that the device is the A6000. I find it strange how the recovery doesn't write which device it is on this error message.
What am I missing here? Usually with other phones, as long as you manage to install a custom recovery then it's a breeze. I cannot figure out how the custom roms don't get installed. Any help appreciated
Managed to flash it in the end. The flash files contain assertions checking if the zip is okay to be flashed on the device (whether the model is the one intended for example).
I found it strange that the error message did not show the model of my device as I was 100% sure it is a A6000 and that is a ROM intended for it.
I ended up overriding the assertion in the file, which seemed to be straightforward to do and the image was flashed without any issues.
DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME unless you are 10000% sure the image is intended for the device. ?
