No. That's 1440p, not 1440p HDR.
I read something about this but it wasnt ready for our beloved lg g6 yet..

Yeah, also saw the article on youtube adding support to S8/S8+, XPeria XZ Premium and so on, but no G6, this is weird, i understand the newer chipsets, but still lets hope we will get it maybe, would be a let down.
Its funny lg g6 was the first phone to come with hdr and it has not got yt hdr
I wonder why you tube still cant run hdr and 18:9 video's.Most apps can be set to 18:9 in app scale .i watch video's on red bull app at 18:9. For samsung its a extra head on selling market if v30 also not support the main feature like g6.

Well if I didnt enjoy the phone I wont have it right now ? So u think those features are related to money? I personally think it is their way of making their phones on top! Thats why they are selling galaxies like candy! i had some Samsung devices in the last few years, and compared to LGs' they update their devices each time you feel the need to! they give you the ability to enjoy every feature in the phone! I had my h870s (dual sim) since june! And since then, the phone got 1 update ?

I think its even free for samsung if you got millions S8 vieuwers on you tube . Why we otherwise have to wait so long? Samsung know the market and people needs to compete.Lg v30 should have be the g6 instead that got released this year with monthly security patches, then it would surprice asskick the S8 from the start and sure got the hdr and 18:9 and happy buyers.

It sounds completely crazy to me. Why they have to sell another device that will lack of support by Samsung and by the community? This phone will meet the same doom as i9001 and i9003. it's really madness to produce dozens of variants and then give **** support to each of them.
And people are still waiting for ICS on i9000. Bah.
Although I agree most people do not care about the community or Samsung support. They will buy the phone with a contract that suits them and happily use it till they buy the next phone (upgrade etc).
A lot of people don't use anywhere near all the features of the phones they buy, and the smarter the phones the more features are unused.
They just want the latest phones...
They will change "up" as soon as they are allowed, so to them long term support of continued development are not important.
And this is being encouraged by ALL the manufacturers, not just Samsung.
let's face it, if any manufacturer actually produced a phone that did everything that was needed and properly, they couldn't bring out a new phone 3 months down the line, and the product line would be reduced from 10 or more down a couple per maker.
Not good financial sense.
P.S. I have had my Galaxy S for a year and a half and I'm generally pleased with it, I have it doing what I want and pretty well too. I don't NEED ICS, buy if and when it comes I'll try it.
There are no cameras on phones that I consider good enough for anything other than snapshots, so i have a good quality camera for pictures and a very competent phone for phone related tasks.
Rant over

Exactly my thoughts. The only reason people complain for ICS on i9000 though is because that's the phone they sold the most, is ICS capable and they never actually delivered a bug-free ginger version (there're still some major ones that never got fixed). Their excuse about touchwiz+ICS being too much for the i9000 is also BS, i'm sure. Not caring about the customer and providing **** support is the problem.
They probably had leftover parts they decided to capitalize by making this phone. Whether this will be a hit or not will depend on it's price. If they make it attractive enough, people with cheap phones looking for an upgrade without spending much may like it. Totally unworth it for someone owning an i9000 already though, even less with GB being the default system.
To all guys complaining : OOOO, bad, bag Samsung, they are releasing the new model with old system without chances for its official update, baaad, baaad, baaad Samsung, you should be punished, and all workers and managers burned in a big bonfire!!!
Could you, boys and girls, tell me: who the hell forces you to buy it?
What is the reason of your nightly wetting, shouting and cries?
I never seen peoples like you, in example standing in front of TV shop and shouting: I don't want this TV bcs the wall plug is ugly black, while I wanted it to be pink with golden dots... yet, maybe bcs I did not met you in the real world

One small question: so, you suppose that any manufacturer should ask someone from the community (I presume: preferably you) the question if somebody will support it?

The Galaxy S was already a beast when it got out, it was on top as far as performance and technologie goes, how do you compare it to something that is launched 2 years later...
Sure, I'd like the current phone to have the technologies that will be available in 2 years but right now! And, in 2 years, I'd want my 2 years old phone to be as powerfull as the one coming out!!

I agree. It seems a bit fishy that a firmware update should fix the the defocused edges. Im betting the new updated unit they recieved also had a different lens.
Im just hoping that they will ship units from now on with same lens and its not just a speciel unit for the camera review that HTC shipped to them.
They even point out in the review that they found it strange that the updated firmware had anything to do with the fix of this in the new unit they recieved.

Well, you would think Samsung would tell the public aswell that their commercial from last year which turned into a scandal for them because they pretended it was shot with the Galaxy S3 but indeed was shot with a pro camera.
Sometimes they do things just to make their product seem better than it is. And hope noones finds out until they have sold you the phone.
But I really hope their not doing something like this because it would be great if its true.
But I will wait to buy one until its publicly available and hear some more reviews then.

I checked my camera by shooting my computer monitor. I know there is a refresh/interference pattern but it was good enough to test the corners. I can say it is a little softer right in the VERY corner. But overall the image sharpness is maintained well across the frame. Certainly nothing worse than a big 35mm lens on a big SLR camera. Looks totally respectable. But of course I would appreciate firmware improvements in terms of noise etc.

Coming soon sounds worse than a definite month like June.
No, they set it to coming soon when it's near approach date. This happened with the Nexus 5 update.
Coming soon means within days or a couple weeks at most, it's their lowest date range.

If you're asking this question seriously, I would say probably right around when the S8 rolls out. The S4 got 5.0.1 a few days after the S6 was released - so it seems like we get about 2 years of update coverage. That seems pretty reasonable to me for a two year old flagship (or more than reasonable, given that I last about 6 months per phone).
looking forward to it , i just hope pinpong root will be supposed

The issue is that the S6 has to keep reloading apps, Say you open a webpage on chrome, then exit to another app. switching back to chrome will reload the page, when the page was supposed to be stored in memory.
The problem is that for a premium device which costs 600+, there should be flaws like this.
Name confirmed I guess
https://oneplus.net/hr/3t
Not 404 anymore
- Snapdragon 821 - confirmed by OnePlus and Qualcomm
- 6GB RAM - I guess confirmed
- Full HD 5'5 Optic Amoled - to be confirmed (maybe OP bought Galaxy Note 7 display spare parts so we get 5'7 2k display )
- Sony IMX 398, 16mpx f/1.7 aperture - to be confirmed
- 3300 mAh battery - to be confirmed
- 64/128GB UFS 2.0 storage - to be confirmed
- new darker color - to be confirmed
- some waterproofing - highly unlikely
- Android 7.0 at launch - I guess confirmed - as seen on GitHub it seems it is 6.0.1
Anything else?

Let's hope OP are smart enough to include more APAC friendly BANDS of 4G LTE FDD. Their biggest problem was that and the poor quality screen. Update those, throw in the confirmed 'upgrades' and they'll have a great phone...
With Qualcomm beating them to the punch, I have no idea why they didn't push the announcement ahead of schedule and let the 'hype' build for longer..??

I live in france and i ve a LG G6 870S (UEA version) , the phone working fine, all is ok but i would like just to update my phone.
Where can i find a new rom? how to install it ? no update avalaible when i user the update section of the phone.
Then there is no manufacturers update.

nothing still the same old 1st march patch v10c :'(
If there were updates, then LG would've provided you with them via OTA or LG Bridge, don't you think? You've already asked this in another thread, and you got the exact same answer.

What kind of research did you do before your purchase? Did you read a single camera review of the LG G6? I bet you didn't, since it would've told you that the front camera is below average. If the selfie shooter is so important to you, a bad one being a deal breaker even, then yes, you did make a bad purchase. But it's entirely on you.
But its supposed to be a flagship phone!
Even if you don't care much about front camera quality, you'd at least expect something halfway decent.
And it's not, it's simply laughable so bad is it.
Personally I don't care to much, but still this cheap bad low-end camera is completely out of place in a flagship.

Yes, the G6 is supposed to be a flagship phone, but that doesn't mean it'll be flawless. Name one flagship phone that is. The S8? An imbecile chose the spot to mount the fingerprint reader. The iPhone 7 and the Google Pixel? Holy cow, dem bezels. The U11? The phone breaks when bent from the back. Also, dem bezels. And yes, the G6 has a below average front camera. It's not terrible, but it's certainly worse than literally all the other flagships. But we know, or at least we're supposed to know, about these flaws when we choose which phone we'll spend our money on. We know the goods and the bads, and still we buy. That's on us. It doesn't mean we can't criticise, but we shouldn't be surprised that a phone has pros and cons. Because if we are, it's bad buyers research on our behalf.

Front camera isnt "that" bad, though its not terrible.
Sucks in low light for sure.
At least stop arguing that front camera is so bad, use the rear wide angle camera and use it for seflies.

We don't need to argue, I think everyone agrees the front camera is pretty bad.
I don't see how using the rear camera would be an alternative though without the visual feedback on the screen.
