Hi there,
my fathers Galaxy Note 3 (SM-N9005) is currently on Android Marshmallow (Phronesis ROM v6) but it has become very unstable. Therefore I would like to ask you for help which ROM to choose. The two most important properties are that it is based on Marshmallow or higher (so he can use the Google Assistant) and that it is very stable (no serious bugs, no random reboots, all important features like BT, LTE, Calls, Camera, etc. should work properly). The Performance is important, too. For this it's not important if it is similar to TouchWiz or Vanilla Android ROMs or anything else. The ROM doesn't have to have thousand of features. The basic features are enough.
I would be very happy if you could tell me ROMs that match these criteria.
Thanks in advance

You already have best rom.

Ok we now did a factory reset and give it another try. Hopefully it will run more stable this time.
The most stable is a stock unrooted ROM.
If you want to trim down a stock root, you could root and use titanium backup to freeze or remove apps.

Hello.
It's the fist time I'm gonna flash a modded Rom cause after a year the phone its staring to do weird things. I'm still at 4.3 Jellybean.
My phone is rooted with stock TouchWiz.
The less wissles and options the better. I don't use the S-pen and would like to have a simple and battery friendly Rom with a good camera app.
Also I'm worry for the sdcard problems i read everywhere and stability.
I guess a Rom with 4.4.4 is better than 4.4.2 but in this so not sure.
What Rom do you recommend?
Thank you!
first you need to choice if you want TW or CM rom...
if TW you need to upgrade bootloader and flash stock KK rom and root and flash custom...
if CM11 no need to upgrade KK and you can flash what you want
for CM12 you need KK bootloader too
Thank you for quick answer.
I read that Cyanogenmod Roms are not optimized and made for Note 3.
Is there a Rom made specifically for N9005 with the features I posted?
1. Go to the Note 3 Android development subforum.
2. Read about the different ROMs.
3. Decide which one you want to try.
4. Flash it.
5. Repeat as necessary.
There are no short cuts. Do the research yourself, only you know if you'll be happy with your choice.
Ok thank you.
Will all the Kitkat based Roms have issues with the Sdcard I read I forums?
I recommend to you the rom which made by Alexander.. And omega rom as a second choice.. Good luck

please, i have this rom
[ROM][N9005] Galaxy S5 Stock ROM - Final v40.0 - Clean, Fast and Stable - [OTA]
have i already in kk bootloader? or not sure? how can i check?
thanks
I'm trying to find Alexander Rom you suggested but i cant find it in the forum. (I'm new with all this about roms).
What is the name of Alexander's Rom?
Well you can use stock ROM, and uninstall all the nonsense apps with any root supported uninstall app, but you still will be forced to have those S related features, S-Scroll, S-Stay and all those nonsense features (which I never have used, ever). Now if you AOSP way then you won't have all those things and you will have a clean ROM but you will miss the lovely S-Pen integration of TouchWiz based ROMs.
So you have to decide according to your preference. I don't believe that AOSP/CM based ROMs are 100% bug free for Note 3, but please correct me if I am wrong. I am an AOSP lover too.
And I also don't believe 4.4.4 has much advantage over 4.4.2 other than some security patches.

Hi all, I'm trying to find a ROM which is most like untouched standard Android (Like what you'd get on a Nexus device); this sort of ROM used to be referred to as 'Vanilla' but may also be know as Nexus or Google Play Edition.
I played with my friends new Moto X yesterday and the OS was so much faster and responsive than my phone, in my opinion. Furthermore, I prefer the aesthetics of the standard ROM; I know Motorola ROM's aren't completely free of changes but they are certainly a lot more uncustomised than Samsung with all its additions and customisations which I really hate the look of and find my phone gets laggy quickly unless a restart is performed.
I have extensive experience loading custom ROM's but I don't want to have to try all of them, I was hoping you may be able to help me find a ROM which matches my requirements. The addition of S Pen apps/compatibility would be awesome but I can obviously look into adding this myself if the ROM does not natively support it.
Thanks community!

If you just want plain standard nexus type rom them you just want plain cm from the original development section. There are a few versions of cm with added tweaks around as well but cm roms are pretty much only available for the qualcom n4 plus every cm rom will have a couple of bugs

Best ROM threads are banned. What works well for 1 person may not necessarily work well for you, its trial and error my friend.
aosp based roms
theres an aicp ported rom and rr ported rom in the development thread , also not on xda is du rom available on their website wich is what I'm currently using
note 4 910f best stable rom pie
im a newbie can you help please.
Did you find a rom that worked for samsung note 4 n910F marhmallow to pie? blutooth and camera ok?
A shop did this for me they tried twice but though android pie worked when I switched the fone off.. power off from the shutdown menu at end of day.... it wouldnt reastart at all. They gave up and reloaded samung marsmallow again which its running now.
As a newbie id appreciate knowng how and in which order you did this. Im thinking odin on computor, root fone to take nandroid copy twrp
If I end up with the same problem as the shop ie no restart, could I obtain and load an original samsung ver 5 or 6 android, as this would be easier than rooting the fone in order to make a nandroid copy.
THANK YOU !!! april 2020.
Hey guys, I am really fed up with the bugs and issues in stock 5.0.1 of s4 i9500 edition. Snapchat force closes every now and then, chrome crashes , wallpaper gets auto changed and so on.
I would like to know which would be the best rom that I can install which can be used a daily driver, I want to install it once and use it tension-free. Can you guys suggest which ones do you use as your daily driver, which gives the best performance and maximum battery life and should be based on lollipop 5.1
I am not really into changing roms so I would like this one to bug free and stable, I do not need any additional features.
Thanks!!
The best ROM is subjective, in that everyone's opinions are going to differ. The only way you're going to know which ROM is best for you is trying them out.
Thanks for your reply. I actually wanted everyone's opinion so that I can know which ones are very stable and working great for them and then I can go ahead and try them and select the one out of them that works best for me
Euphoria rom is best as if i think so....
But if u want to use samsung apps, airview, air gestures halcyon rom would be nice
For better battery backup go for stock rom which is somewhat stable now.
Aurora is the best
All air functions work fine and some of the note features are there and in adition very stable
after many roms tests
Been using Aurora V2 - crashed yesterday while in a call. A big NO for me, but otherwise the rom was more than satisfactory overall. I have automatic call record enabled, so could've been that... not sure.
Wanna try Halcyon next...
For me,
AOSP-based ROM: GearCM and everything based on that ROM
TW-based ROM: Doctor's S6 port/Halcyon/MBP with VoLTaqe Kernel
Sent from my ASUS_Z00AD
My vote is for darklord...
AOSP : Gear CM, Resurrection Remix and Euphoria
T.W. : Aurora S6/S6E V3.0, Dark Lord and Halycon.
Kernal : VoLTaqe Kernel and Light-Weight-Kernel.
Doctor's Rom is also good but somehow didn't work good for me.
**Happy to Help**
Cyanogenmod. Very stable and fast.
Uptill now, am on stock rom, which has been stable . However, waiting for CM 13, as Android 6 is not going to come for s4. Problem for i9500 which has exynos chip and as yet unreleased source code, CM 13 will be delayed. Just released cm 13 for snapdragon i9505. Running CM 12.1s in i9300, s3 for the past year. Very stable.

Hello everyone,
I personally never owned a Samsung device (always Nexus and mostly with Paranoid Android or Dirty Unicorns ROM) but my girlfriend has one and she defeniately needs it to be flashed :good:
As I am completely new to Samsung devices, I have no idea about all the developers and different ROMs that are out there for the Samsung Note 4 (Snapdragon).
I don't have much time to try around with different ROMs as it isn't my phone.
I need one that is good, stable, fast (and also supports the stylus / samsung apps). So I can flash it quickly and have a happy girlfriend
So that is the reason I an asking in the first place. Else I would just flash around and keep trying until I find the best fit.
I saw CM is officially supporting the Note 4. So that one might be a good solution. But does it have all those stylus samsung stuff?
Any other ROMs I should check out?
Do I need to flash a new radio?
Thanks in advance and sorry for posting another "which ROM" thread. But I can't really test around to find out on my own as it is not my device that I am going to improve !
If n910g, this is highly recommended, although you have to disable or uninstall later all apps that you don't want if you want a debloated rom.

It is N910F.
The link you provided is simply stock android MM?
Yes stock MM, stock is in my experience the most stable and bug free rom build. But the link is for n910g unfortunately.
Stock ROM, and then debloat yourself. Quite honestly speaking, and no offence to anyone, there are no good ROMs available for Note 4. In fact I myself might have not got the phone if I realised the development section is like this. And I am not interested in ported ROMs, so even though there are many available I won't go that way, and I am too dumb to make a ROM for myself, so stock ROM it is.
I agree, stock rom rooted and debloat it, and apply msm tweaks. If you want, xposed as well.

You must flash samsung based rom to have all soen features and samsung apps. I reconnemed kurama rom which in using , its battery friendly, fast and stock based. If you going to flash kurama rom you must flash modem and bootloader for the rom to boot up (only can be flashed from pc with odin)
Since The Galaxy Project is EOL it's time to change to another ROM.
But there are way to many options! :crying:
Please help out a semi-noob what ROM to choose instead.
I'm don't have time to try multiple ROMs. I just want the best one out there!
So.. what's the best ROM? :victory:
Doesn't matter if it's Samsung, AOSP, etc, based.
Main requirements:
Great camera performance
Stable and buttery smooth
PWM fix available

Exynos Versions only...
Try any except AOSP because they have bad camera performance+ lots of issues with social apps,
samsung Pie roms Like BlackDiamon NFE v4 or BDV2 have new UI and are alot stable for daily use, people says that its camera quality is not good as oreo but i did not noticed any difference. the only issue All pie rom have is game performance. so thats the only reason i went back to oreo.
