i use the latest release, 3.3 version and my battery drains in like 10 hrs of normal usage...
the worst part is that upto 95% of battery is consumed just by display?
i used to get 2 days of battery backup previously on the official Rom.
i tried re flashing kyrillos Rom yesterday and i still get the same problem :’(
is there something i am missing?
or should i wait for atleast 1 week after flashing?
I don't know, but you can also install Juice devender from the market
I like that app. Now the battery has a longer life: 2 days.
The battery seems to be a problem indeed with our devices. Mine was on 5% for 12hrs yesterday.
I've read advice from Lestat, I think, to charge the battery completely before flashing.
I've yet to test it though.

does some1 know a fix to show my battery in units in stead of dozens? srry for my english^^
boom....battery at 60%, 25 hours and still.running ( but can only say its because of this when i get home....because right now my cell phone is in airplane mode)
thanks
i think i know why i am loosing battery very fast
It may have to do with cpu scaling also.I installed cpu master and saw that the cpu is always on 667mhz and not down-scaling when not in use.
Kyrillos 3.3 rom
try using SetCPU...

This depends on the network you use, but you can set your phone to use only GSM network or only WCDMA network in the Mobile network settings, if you are located in area where your network switches constantly because of a weak signal your battery will drain itself because of constant refreshing and switching between GSM and WCDMA networks. WCDMA (3G) network uses more battery even if not switching.

Thanks, mine is set to GSM only, since i don't use 3G..
I tested my phone again now for the past two days and found out that it comes for like 20-24 hrs in moderate (daily usage), which is ok for me....
the battery first reduces to 80% in the first 1 hour (even with minimum usage, don't know why this happens), and then it stays at 80-60% for like 15-16 hrs...
I got this problem in Kyrillos 3.0beta version...but now in 3.3 its fine...i can use mine till 2.5 days...widout task manager!!! :-/ i dunno...!!! Juicedefender works cool for sum ppl!!!! the oder solution try Indroid 3.0 - it has better battery backup!

You should callibrate your battery with one of the callibration apps, or charge to 100% and then delete battery stats file manualy. Then discarge your battery completely so the phone switches off. The next cycle should be better. Those first 20% percent do go faster than the rest of the battery.

I installed the calibration app. It said i have to charge it till 100 % and then click calibrate....
I did and now iam 50% in just 7 hours....
So should i let the phone discharge completely?
By the way i flashed with jpm earlier with half battery left....

After calibration one more cycle will be short. The next cycle will be at least double battery life. I get 30+ hours with moderate use (wifi, calls, sms, light games with GSM non-stop) now. I can also recommend Juice defender as an aid for battery conser ation. setCPU doesn't help.

true , true, true thanks for confirming
still 30 hours isnt enough, its roughly a day.
With 2.1 original firmware and data activated all day i could get 50hrs minimum of battery life.
I'm done with this phone, done trying different roms, calibrating batteries, charging and discharges in less than a day.
i think this phone rocks, except its battery life sucks!
im selling it to change for something with better battery, maybe bb?

Battery problems is from ext4! You can convert all partitions to ext2 with normal battery life but with more chances for data to lost if you remove the battery!

Hi,
I bought my galaxy s5 exynos version. It is overheating a lot. Its body gets pretty hot and temp sensors show that the battery temp is 38 degrees and body temp is 33 degrees. The battery life also is really poor.. it went to 47% in just 3.5 hrs of usage even with power savings. Is it a problem with phone's battery? I have attached a screenshot of battery stats.
Are the other users using smg900h facing this problem of heating and battery drain? is there any workaround? Please help me.

Not at all... There's something wrong with yours. I usually get 6+ hrs screen on time on mine.
Battery lasts a day.
Any app you recently installed? Or maybe your SD Card has some corrupted files and the Media Scanner gets stuck?

No the media server isnt popping up. Now as I am writing this , the battery drain slowed down and now it is on 23%. This is my first discharge of phone though.. Also what about overheating? Mine remains warm while browsing and becomes hot after using a bit of camera. I dont know why but my ears feel the heat during a voice call.
Try the fixes in my thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2745909

Hi! sorry about my English.
I'm having the same problem with my exynos galaxy s5. It sometimes gets really hot and the battery drains really fast, even with low usage (emails and whatapp). It's definitely a software problem, because it disappears on reboot. But after a while it returns.
After a reboot i can get sometimes 4.5h to 5h or more of screen on time with no overheating, full day, but than something triggers and i have 2.5 screen or 3h max on with a hot device on wifi, and terrible standby time.
I can't pinpoint the problem. It's not a wakelock problem. I Checked wakelock detector (PC version, since my device is unrooted), and it shows only 8% wake on a full day (yesterday).
The battery on setting shows normal usage: the screen is always on top, followed by android os.
I really don't know what to do, besides keeping rebooting the device every day. No luck turning locations services off.
As I mentioned, that is not normal at all, this is my battery life:

Do you have the Exynos or the Snapdragon version?
i'm having similar issues with mine, but i managed to get better battery life by turning off location reporting, samsung account, chatON, my magazine, polaris and changing the location to GPS only, it's not drastically different but as of right now im at 61% with 13h off the charger and 30m on screen time.

Yes, an old class 10 16GB card. I have it since I got the S3... I stopped using it while I had the Nexus 4 and 5.

Dont have this issue at all, i charge it when the battery is below 20%
use greenify and blaze kernel for SM-G900F with the power suspend 1% drop in 5 hours
Try to reboot every time of overheating. This should resolve the problem.

man! Really ?? I can only get around 3 hours and 40 minutes at best.
which variant you're using bro ? I am using SM-G900H and trying to buy another spare battery.
Do you perhaps have 1+ Exchange accounts filled with data (email, calendar, contacts, memos, ..). I had this issue on my Nexus 4. As I wiped and flashed the device often, I noticed that the issue was not appearing when I forgot to add one of my Exchange accounts. What fixed it was deleting most unwanted data from my Exchange accounts (old e-mails, all sent e-mails, ecc.). Just guessing.

I don't have Wi-Fi in my home, so I surf on internet only with 4g and at night I always turn off my phone, because the battery drain is caused also for inactive process like "Facebook" or "Instagram". So, if you want to leave your phone turned on, kill all before sleep

Hi, it must be an app keeping the phone awake too much. Root the phone and install wakelock detector to see what's causing it. Its not WiFi or LTE that would be the cause alone unless you have the weakest signal known to man.

I have noticed that my battery life has dropped significantly over the last few months and it is almost 2 hours less than when I got the phone. I'm on stock rom and kernel, locked bootloader and I have tried factory reset but I didn't see much of an improvement. I'll attach some screenshots that may help someone identify the problem.
I think it's normal. My sots are from 4-5 to 7-8 hours, it depends of screen brightness and phone temps.
I'm getting around 4.5-6 hours with no modifications. After underclocking my phone to 1.4ghz I'm getting around 8-10 hours of battery life, and that's with long sessions of pubg.

It is a bit slower, but not too noticeable. However, I recommend you to underclock it to 1.5-7 GHz, I've set the CPU Governor to powersave. I use the stock kernel as I still want ota updates without having to reinstall magisk everytime.

It's just that it goes down fast when on high percentages, I don't know if that is a sync problem or an actual one but it seems the battery goes down faster when at higher precentages. yes the first graph I sent you was horrific and at low percentages but it never happened to me again, also that graph is 42 hrs so it might seem like it is going down fast but it isnt

Hi sorry i didn't take it but i am getting around 6h 45mins+ and i only used to get 5h 45mins before on the same usage pattern.
Also before i was using dark mode all the time and now i am using scheduled dark mode. So i believe i can squeeze in 15-20 mins more if i use dark mode only. This is great. I think they updated the pixel 4 first as users reported improvement in battery life in Jan or Feb.
My battery is at 90% health, so that is really gre8 seeing it boosted by an hour.
