I got the LG G6 for few months and I'm thinkning about unlocking it and flash a ROM.
How Can I backup the phone so I can get my Contacts, Music, Whatsapp etc. back after flashing the ROM?
Also, If something happen while unlocking or flashing the ROM, can I just flash the stock img somehow? Coming from a Nexus 4, and with it I used Nexus ToolKit if something went wrong, anything like that for the LG G6? I don't want to get an expensive brick if something goes wrong .
Thanks in advance!

When you are stock you can use LG Bridge Software to make a backup.
Contacts follow your Google account
Whatsapp can be easily backuped picking up the complete folder in the root of internal device storage (before make sure to update the chat DB in Whatsapp options and restart the phone)
You can also do the same with Pictures, Screenshoots etc etc folders.
In the right section of this forum you can found many image file (.kdz) to use with LGUP.
LG Bridge software can also help you if something goes wrong.
As already seggested, when you are using other roms you can use TWRP Bakup, Titanium Backup etc etc.

please help,

Hi,
Yes there is an official Lollipop for the D802.
However, before I tell you how to get it, I gotta warn you: It could be working good, or it could be driving you crazy because it's possibly filled with bugs.
Also, the update COULD mess up your phone, meaning you'll have to reflash it using the TOT method. This is however something to worry about if it goes wrong.
Firstly, you need a Windows PC for this, if you've got a Mac with only OS X it will not work!
1. Now, to update I'd recommend you first back-up ALL of your files on the internal storage to your pc (pictures, music, video, etc, WhatsApp files, etc.)
2. If you've got that, go ahead and download & install the LG PC Suite.
3. Run it and connect your phone, select the PC Suite mode. Now it could be that it has to install some drivers so just be patient, shouldn't be taking that long in most cases.
4. If it's all connected, it should remind you that there's an update, the PC Suite should navigate you through the update. If it asks you to make a back-up (this isn't the same back-up as you made before), do it, there's nothing worse than losing everything!
5. Now if the back-up has been made you can go ahead and let it update.
6. Ur done! You should probably check if your files are still on the internal storage, if not, you should just copy them back to it.
Keep me updated if something goes wrong and I'll help you out.
Good luck!
For my experience, I have a D802 too
I was on CM12.1 so I flashed to stock with the method found here (LG flashtool) so I was on 4.2.2
After that with the LG pc suite I updated a first time to 4.4.2
and directly after still with Lg pc suite I update to 5.0.2
No error for the moment, it's very stable and bug-less.

does the method above should work on both ?
Unfortunately, I can not tell you. I've only got the D802, maybe you could do a little bit of research first.
Haven't really got the time to do that right now

Sorry for the late response, I've been busy this week.
Unfortunately, no. I do not have a video for you.
I would've made one if my phone needed a reflash, but it's working fine now and I'd like to keep it that way. Sorry

Like I said, it's best if you do that.
Even if you are a 100% sure that it won't delete anything, you never know what might go wrong in the process!
I'm in desperate need of a stock rom if anyone can help me out, was fiddling with root access and ended up losing my entire notification drawer and home button and whatever you call the square button. I have twrp installed but no rom.
Also this is a general LG LEON LTE thread because there seems to be almost no support for the phone.
Hey I know there are others or there looking for the same thing, any help would be appreciated.
seriously there are other people out there looking for the same thing someone give us a back up image.

will a nandroid backup do for you? If so i can definitely help you out
i was looking for a link or two
I recently just got back into carrier devices an havent bothered with moddin devices in about two years i own two nexus devices an have sideloaded them for years with corporate emails an only have gone as far as tweakin boot images an on my older droids flashing custom mods daily... My only question remains with these newer junky devices how does one gain su if needed safely for things like otg access. It seems to me almost every carrier device is worth rooting an modding nowadays, an nexus devices are still the only ones that have a program thats stable an universal for all manufactuers as far as updating an management of a os whether it be stock or the user decides to go third party.
With that said.. Thats why awhile ago i stopped modding phones, using a windows tablet (for a full version of msdos) an since i had mastered my PB9110 version of my nexus one, i would flash my images via adb and sideload images with command line, in time ive sampled nexus after nexus, never using (play) an now back to a carrier device with no program support except 3rd party mods... Which in reality is great once you do have a nandroid backup an a stock rom... Thus the ability with the nexus factory image. Where are the steps and how tos my friends????

Flashify (Google App Store App) OEM Backups

Hey! I just used a program called Flashify (Found on Google Play Store) to back up both my Kernel (Boot) and System (Recovery) for my LG LEON LTE. I haven't attempted to reinstall these backups using Flashify as of yet, since I just rooted my phone and installed TWRP bootloader so I can try out a ROM... so, I have no idea how it works or if you can use it with any other bootloader app. However, I am attempting to offer you some kind of OEM Backup. I'm pretty new at some of this. I haven't posted enough to add links yet, but I'm going to try.
I have a LG Leon LTE for T-Mobile. My OEM details are as follows:
Android Version: 5.1.1 Lollipop
Baseband Version: MPSS.DPM.2.0.c11-00021-M8936FAAAANUZM-1.19638.1.19833.1
Kernel: 3.10.49
Build: LMY47V
Software Version: H34510f
These downloads are only available until 11/26/2015 due my only having a free account on the hosts site. I hope they help!
Kernel (Boot): OEM 3.10.49 @ http: //sabercathost. com/5Y7 (60 second wait for free download)
System (Recovery): OEM @ http: //sabercathost. com/5Y8 (60 second wait for free download)
Again.. I used Flashify (for root users) free from Google Play Store to create these backups. I have no clue if they can be used by any other programs for recovery. If you have/or can get Flashify, I'd like to believe they can be used for your STOCK recovery.
I may try and make a more common backup of these using ROM Toolbox Pro and see if I can host the files elsewhere that isn't limited to 7 days before paying for premium. If I do, I'll come back and update you or anyone else in need with the new locations.
Wish you luck!
Could u please post that I need a nandroid of that desperately

Messed up my phone and lossy original backup if u could post that nandroid I would really appreciate it. Thanks
Hi everyone
Nearly three years ago I made a backup of my apps and data using LG PC Suite. At that moment I think my phone was already running JB 4.1.2, v20a or v20d idk. Now all the files are in a folder and have extensions .tar.enc, .tar.gz.enc, .brinfo and there is some start_restore file.
Between back then and now, I have made an attempt to root my phone using the Framaroot tool, and it succeeded. This morning I tried to restore the backup to my phone using LG PC Suite (probably a more recent version). After rebooting, my phone was displaying something like this:
Code:
[4180] secure booting error!
[4190] problem: boot certifiation verify
:crying:
I've had a thorough look through the fora the whole morning and half of the afternoon and still can't figure out why it gets stuck there. The restore operation doesn't succeed in any case.
In the mean time I've flashed a TWRP-3.0.2.0 recovery on top of the stock recovery. At least I get the recovery mode working, but I still wonder if it was the most clever action to get to a successful recovery of my backup...
Hence, I am still nowhere where I want to be. My questions for you guys:
Does any of you know of a way to restore the data in the backup without needing the LG P700 phone, e.g. using a virtual LG HW emulator?
If not, does any of you have a copy of the stock recovery mode of the LG P700? (yes, indeed, the one that looks ugly) Maybe using that I could bring the phone back in a near-original state and the backup restore would complete instead of getting stuck like now
Thanks in advance for your help, it will be much appreciated!!! :good: :victory:
PS: As soon as I get through this, I'll consider making a ROM build based on Android Oreo (8.1) Go edition. The specs give this phone a second chance to live on!
My tmobile LG k20 plus phone has a boot loop and will not start, this happened when I copied a file to the main directory of my phone, instead of merging the files it deleted the system folder, I tried to fix it by reinstalling twrp and it worked, after flashed twrp I installed a fresh SuperSU ROM and when I did the boot loop did not go away and in addition to this my computer will no longer find my phone through ADB or fastboot, if you can help I will be amazed and quite happy, I'm new here so any help is appreciated

I found a program called lgup which was able to fix the phone, it's capable of flashing a new rom onto a soft bricked phone. Sadly I don't recall any specifics but on a quick search for "lgup lg k20 plus" you should be able to find what you're looking for with relative ease. Also, you may want to consider making your own thread on the future... It has been 3 years

Yeah. Sorry for the late reply given you guys found the fix by now, but yes, generally with the sort of severe mishaps from editing or accidental deletion of certain system files or directories, sometimes a dirty flash or even a totally clean flash after performing data ave system partition wipes, will just not fix or restore the device.
You would then need to do a complete stock image reflash either using LGUP or the official LG software recovery tool. If you know what you're doing, you could skip over reflashing stock in its entirety, if say you know the problem has only to do with a particular protected partition like modem, EFS, etc. But generally good practice to just recover all the stock partitions, refresh the device software to factory conditions, reflash your bootloader and recovery images, root STOCK or install custom ROM, so on and so forth.
If you're a frequently curious tinkerer, making backups will be crucial to your sanity.
Hello,
I am quite new to ROMs and I came back to OxygenOS from Pixel Experience. I downloaded the OxygenOS from Oneplus support website and successfully installed it via the TWRP recovery. Now the system works quite much as it should, but there is one big issue.
I can't download files, take pictures or save screenshots.
I then went and looked at my files from the Files app, and there were no folders at all. I don't remember what should they be, but like pictures or downloads folder, you know... I am not exactly sure how did this happen, but it seems that I fully emptied my phone.
I am quite lost and unaware of how could I fix this. Do you think I could make those folders myself, or is there any possibility to download ~everyting~ again? Is there a file like that which would have all those folders too?
I am just assuming it would be related to those folders, but please do correct me if you think it is something else.
Thank you very much for any possible help

Do a Factory Reset in stock recovery or Format Data in TWRP. That should fix it.

Thank you so much sir, I have been desperately fighting with my phone for the past 23 hours without success!
I already had tried factory resetting BUT in the phone settings, not recovery. Now I just opened the recovery and it did it automatically. Everything is working just as it should.
