Just did a factory reset to 10p. Rooted with Magisk 13.3. Installed BusyBox module and rebooted. Installed V4A module and rebooted. V4A will not install the driver. I've tried everything I can think. Multiple other people have told me they have v4a working with just those two modules. Root checker verifies the phone has root. Does anyone have clear steps on how to get V4A working on 7.0 10p for the H918 V20?
Guitardedhero's .zip of v4a does not work.
viper4arise does not work either.
Seems a standard install of v4a direct from their site will not work. (It doesn't install as a system app - but it's not supposed to?)
It's like v4a is not being given root access, even though Magisk shows it being given. Also, when trying to rename or delete the audio_effects.conf, Root Explorer shows Magisk giving it root access, but denies me when trying. I'd just use SuperSU, but I want to use the systemless Magisk root, since Magisk's "hide" feature works perfect, and SuperSU's Root Cloak does not.
Does anyone have clear steps on how to get V4A working on 7.0 10p for the H918 V20?
UPDATE - I received a tip from a user online to give a shot the "IO test fix.apk" version of V4A. I installed this, and voila.. it works perfect. In fact, it works so well, I'm able to use v4a processing on any application that plays audio. I've attached the apk here for you to try if you're having issues running v4a with Magisk. Good luck!
Mine installs fine but doesn't process any audio for any app
hi, how did you root 10p? ive been trying to root my v20 on 10p for weeks. i updated to 10p via ota and never rooted my lg v20

Just wanted to confirm that I have installed Magisk and used it to succesfully gain root access and install xposed without any issues whatsoever.
I'm running Aerom so I'm unsure if Android Pay is going to work but regardless, systemless root and xposed confirmed
Update: Aerom has issues with Magisk installation. Any changes to system settings are discarded on reboot. I'm going to see if this issue persists when using the stock rom.
Update 2 Stock rom also has the system settings persistence error. I'll file a bug report to the Magisk devs.

There is no xposed for nougat.
Hello ^^
I am hoping that some of you guys can help me out of a little issue that i am having, i will try and explain what has happened up until now as best i can:
As many people know, the latest update to Pokemon GO, knocks out rooted users. I did not know this and updated last night, however, dispite running a custom ROM (PureNexus) and being rooted, my game loaded up like normal and let me play. It wasn't until i checked that my SuperSU that i found that root wasn't actually working at that time, so i re-flashed the latest Super SU and all was good, but, obviously, this knocked out Pokemon GO.
I read up on the trick of using Magisk to be able to turn off root and when was needed as to get the game to work, so i went about trying to get it working. I unrooted via Super SU and then rebooted and flashed the Magisk installer and PHH Superuser (as i heard this was best for compatability). After the phone rebooted i, installed the Magisk launcher and the PHH SU program from the Play Store, but when i opened any app that reuqited root, it was still telling me i wasn't rooted anymore, and thus, when i opened PGO, it worked.
I am kinda lost from here, i want to get my phone rooted again, and i want to get Magisk working so i can still enjoy PGO and some of my occasionally used apps that require root, so my questions are as follows:
1. Can you re-flash an SU over an old one to get root back, or do i need to fully un-root and root again?
2. If i was to re-flash SuperSU (with Magisk support), would this get me rooted again and allow me to flash Magisk as normal?
I am a little lost here, any and all help would be appreciated.
Thanks to all in advance.

i have, it doesnt work as PGO uses safetynet, like Andriod Pay
Ohh snap, well that's all I had...I don't play PoGo

For magisk to work, you have to use it to root and unroot. From what I understand, it temporarily removes root system wide when you do this. Basically it's a more convenient way to root and unroot.
Android Police has an article on it right now. The instructions for installation and usage are correct.
The problem is probably related to a failure to make sure all traces of previous SuperSU installations are gone.
http://www.androidpolice.com/2016/09/11/guide-play-pokemon-go-0-37-rooted-android-magisk
For magisk to work it's best to fully unroot, maybe try unsu.zip,
Then have a 100% stock system and boot (kernel)
And before flashing magisk and phh, try the SafetyNet checker app in the playstore. (PoGO uses SafetyNet to check for root, same as Android Pay)
If you pass then go ahead and flash magisk, phh, and then phh app followed by magisk manager
In the magisk thread are all the instructions to follow

I know this is all over the place, but I thought I would bring it here just in case anyone hadn't found the answer. I have seen a few posts about this on Reddit and some other forums. This will obviously hinge on having the unlocked bootloader. You will also need a file explorer that lets you view root folders just in case you want to make sure the binaries have been delete.
What worked for CM13:
Install SuperSU and use it's unroot method which should delete all SU binaries in /system/bin and /system/xbin.
Install phh SU and Magisk manager.
Reboot to recovery
Install the Magisk v6 and PHH SU files.
Reboot system after clearing cache
Access Magisk Manager and toggle root, it should prompt PHH SU to ask about permissions.
I have read that this same method works for PaulPizz and Jasmine Rom as well. PaulPizz has Xposed preinstalled, so you have to run the Xposed uninstaller and remove the Xposed app. Follow instructions from the Xposed for Magisk thread to reinstall xposed if you require it.
If you want this with the Stock Verizon image, there is a link in the Stock Image thread on page 41 with the bootloader removed for safe upgrade. I will update the post with links to the appropriate threads later today.
Credit to all the devs involved with the Note 4 and Android in general.
The method you've described worked for me on 0.35 PoGo. Then 0.37 update I already had to rollback.
I'm using HTC One M8, rooted, pph and Magisk on stock Rom, systemless xposed.
Now the forced 0.39 version does not run, leaving me with me 'Failed to log in' text. Please guys, work on some help I put my trust in you
I'm on Paul pizz and when i follow the instructions I can get full unroot, everything flashed, but when I go into Magisk manager I am not prompted for anything and if I hit the toggle for root it just toggles itself back. It appears that even after removing the super.su from system in twrp that I still can't get it to install.
I have also removed Xposed with the uninstaller and tibu to remove the APk. I can get systemless Xposed to install and work but not systemless root.
Any ideas?

I'd it's still detecting root, the su binaries haven't been removed completely. Also check that magisk toggles off root.

If you have xposed active, it may not allow you to toggle root off. You have to go to system less and deactivate and then reboot. Then turn off root in magisk. It's the only way I found to get it to work.
Anyone figure out how to install magisk on emotion 7.1 I tried and just boots to download mode and says it couldn't boot normal.

I'm also running emotion 7.1.1 die you ever find a work around of PoGo. I've been trying lit of things but of us it sounds like this magiaksu option is our only option but I can't get it to work either.

iSu [v3.5] Simple app to deactivate activate
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/isu-simple-app-to-deactivate-activate-t3478348
I've seen a few posts on people getting iSu to work to get PoGo on our phones. I've tried a few times but no matter what version of Su I have installed o get this respongse.
Does anyone have a verison that is compatible with iSu. Or could provide me some guidance that would be great.
I've been experiencing a weird issue since I installed DU on my 6p; a lot of apps crash when I try to open them until I use Magisk Hide on them. Not just user apps, I couldn't even connect to my JBL speakers via bluethoot until I hided root to my bluethoot-share system application. I can't get chrome (or anyhting related to it, like the in-app browser of Facebook) to work, and i've tried a lot of versions of Chrome and even Opera; the only thing I could get working it's Firefox. I can't even change my wallpaper (my launcher crashes).
On the other hand, apps that support root, like amaze file manager, work smoothly even without being granted root permission.
I'm a noob, so i have no idea what's causing the problem, but i'll try my best to give you my setup in case you can help me.
- I'm using official Dirty Unicorns ROM v11.3 (7.1.2) with the correspondent stock kernel (unicornblood)
- I'm rooted by chainfire's SuperSU v2.79
I don't know if the mods i've installed have anything to do, but i'll share them just in case
I installed these audio mods:
- Hi-Performance DAC Enabler:
- aptX™ HD Enabler
- AINUR Pandora
This other thermal mod: CTTmod
And I'm using Magisk v12.0
Thank you very much in advance
I don't think you can use Magisk and SuperSu at the same time because Magisk includes its own root app, PhilsSu. You are basically using two different root apps at the same time. You can try uninstalling SuperSu or Magisk but you might be better off doing a clean flash of DU, Gapps then either SuperSu or Magisk but not both.

When I tried to install magisk without SuperSU it asked me to root my device first and aborted installation
I've never used Magisk but I thought PhilsSu was part of it. I suppose you can download PhilsSu separately and flash it before Magisk but I know that's the rooting app that works with Magisk, not SuperSu.

Now that I think about it I'm pretty sure I read that you can uninstall SuperSu using the Play Store app then choose to root with PhilsSu within Magisk if you have both installed at the same time.
Magisk v12 is its own root solution. It doesn't use SuperSU & it doesn't use PHH superuser either. It's its own thing now. Magisk Hide does not hide SuperSU, only its own root. So if you're using Magisk Manager to hide apps while SuperSU is installed, it's literally doing nothing. Your root is not hidden and you should be able to confirm this using a root checker app. I guess it's possible that having both is causing your issues, but I follow the Magisk general support thread and never see issues that severe. I'd guess it's a stability issue on your ROM.
If you want to use Magisk Hide correctly, you need to get rid of SuperSU. Select the full unroot option from the settings. Hop on over to osm0sis thread here and grab and flash the unsu.zip he has over there. Then flash your ROMs boot.img again (unless it's rooted). That'll completely wipe SuperSU and let you use Magisk.
So basically (stock phone > unlock bootloader > install TWRP > flash Magisk v12) and now you're rooted. No SuperSU / anything else is involved. V12 literally roots you and you need to clean up SuperSU to use it properly.

Hi guys!
First of all, please do not send me to somwhere on forum because I have tried dozen of ways do deal with problem. My phone is LG G6 running on android pie. TWRP installed, Magisk installed. Im trying to instal viper4droid. I have tried download module from Magisk itself, I have tried to download .apk file from different sources, I have tried to download .zip file, I have tried to installed as apk itself and grant root accesss, tried by TWRP, tried unify installers and **** knows what else. Trouble is, First few times it was installed but status was "not running", Today after many attempts to deal with that viper4droid installing drivers and.......after each reboot its doing it again. Moreover i have found that sometimes Magisk did not show up the newest version of v4a as a module to download. So......is somebody for the love of god know what the **** is wrong? thank you.

Hi man, there are three versions of viper4ndroid on magisk, try the viper4android fx legacy materialized as normal app after disabling play protect on google playstore. hope this helps
I will try that in a minute mate.
didnt work.
I have the same problem. I switched to viper hifi and now after reboot it is working but after some time it stops till i reboot it again. I think it is because of the pie version, on oreo everything works fine. After every reboot every mofule in magisk reinstalls. For example youtube vanced instals like new and i have to set it up after the reboot.
IIRC it required me to install viperfx (the new version, not legacy or xhifi), audio modification library and audio compatibility patch, have you done that?
I have tried all three version of viper. I have isntalled it as a apk and modules in Magisk. All possible audio patches and compatibilies mods from magisk are intalled as well.

if you still have this problem, try installing viper4android 2.7 as apk from xda lab, I was downgrading back to pie sometimes ago and couldn't get viper to work, besides the 2.7
