Fingerprint scanner - X Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
My question is can I add a fingerprint scanner to my MOTO X PLAY. Some scanners are available for replacement for other models. Is there any way to add that to my device.?

can you add extra kidney if you are having some operation?

Yes, you can. That's how kidney transplant works, you end up with 3 kidneys.

[App+Hardware] Pulse Monitor

Hi Everyone,
As you may remember, my last project was making the Bluetooth RC Car Controller for WP8 (Get the project at: https://github.com/lanceseidman/iRacer_Controller; Video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Af6iGyM64Gk).
I've now taken my Base Project (https://github.com/lanceseidman/Arduino-Bluetooth-WinPhone8) and made a Pulse Monitor using the Arduino Uno R3, Bluetooth Module (Blue SMiRF Silver), and Pulse Sensor [project by Joel and Yury].
You can see it in action here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M0pYQsY4Zbo.
The source to the Pulse Monitor App is not on GitHub as it isn't anything too extensive and based on my base project (see above). The App itself will be available in the App store shortly for those who have the Hardware. Don't have the Hardware? I have been making a small Circuit using the ATMega382 to allow you to make these projects at home and cheaper than buying a full size Arduino Uno or buying a Arduino Pro for around the same price.
Thanks,
Lance
This is brilliant!
awesome

make a smartwatch. ill buy that watch in a heartbeat.
If you can make an app to get, Pebble, Metawatch, Citizen Proximity, CooKoo, or any other smart watch working with windows phone 8 published. I will donate $50 and I'm sure I'm not the only one out there!

Thank you and actually I do make a Smartwatch, called the WEDA. Completely open platform. Works also with all Bluetooth enabled Tablets, Android, and yet to test with iOS.
Unfortunately, not enough people backed my original Indiegogo but I have my last attempt coming up but waiting for great video to show it in action but also trying to implement Barometer, Vibrate, etc.

I definitely would, just I don't have any of those devices. Maybe they'd let me borrow one, I will look in to it.

The problem is, each watch/wristband is different on how it receives and permits connections.

Le Max 2 have Learning Remote. OMG!!!

I just realise Max 2 have Learning Remote. This is crazy. For USD200 and come with universal learning remote + 6gb ram + 64gb UFS2.0 + 2K screen, the feature is getting better !!!
This is old news man... It's a nice feature btw, maybe it'll be used, maybe not, but the price is very good for the specs.

Seriously, I don't think that having a remote, learning or not, is the most important thing in a cell phone. In the case of Le Max 2, I'd gladly trade the remote for a working fingerprint, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. That said, having a remote with a learning function in a smartphone is a neat feature.

It is a nice feature, if it had no troubles with fingerprint it would be much more expensive. And you can fix it like for 10$ (7$ on aliexpress) and some skill like I did.
This is part of LeEco's ecosystem. They used to make Smart TVs.
The downside is that regular IR control apps does not works unless you install the Xposed module, which works only on Marshmallow.

That's a pity. Maybe it's time to notify the developer, to see if he can make the module work on Android N. Maybe he's already aware of it, but you never know

s9 rom port

I assume all of you know the galaxy s9 is released, and it has brought some cool features. I'm asking myself, would it be possible to port the s9 rom to s8? It would bring some nice features, like slow mo background, ar emoji(i think), intelligent scan(i think) , enhanced camera app and a lot more. Please give your opinion of that and if it would be possible to have those features on our still fantastic device! Anyone who think he can do this??

Someone will probably will once the firmware drops, nor everything can be ported though as our hardware might not support it, we'll see how things go

are there so much hardware differences? other than the back camera and the normal stuff, there aren't many things changed. Intelligent scan must be portable. maybe samsung will release it for s8 with android p, who knows?? I'm just thinking, would treble give some problems, since s9 has ot and s8 doesn't?

Stuff like intelliscan will be fine, but the s9 has extra sensors on the front aswell, but you know we have good devs, may be they'll be able to port the stuff over

it does? i didn't hear anything about that?
So far, as I know, the features S9 has is related to hardware (like, aperture changes for camera) and also sensor that makes samsung-style animoji available. So, fingers crossed.
Besides it, I think everything already got covered up on S8 & S8+.

In the latest Oreo beta for 950U (CRB8), there is actually a package called intelligentscan. I assume it will eventually be activated, if it is not already.

Smart face unlock

As we all know we have a smart lock option in the settings but sadly cant find the SMART FACE UNLOCK function. Is there any way to flash and enable that option or s8 oreo?

Sorry, for clarification, isn't Smart Face Unlock is a Galaxy S9 feature that combines iris scanner and face recognition?
I thought it is not here yet?

Well tbh we can hope for intelliscan to come for s8 and s8+ through custom roms.
I heard that it was found within the s8 oreo beta files. I don't see why it shouldn't happen on the s8 other than samsung. The scanning hardware on the s8 and s9 are exactly the same. The only difference would be if the 845 has something different than the 835 that allows for it to work better. I highly doubt this is the case though.

Moto G4 ( Not a plus)

Hey there community! My question is that will the ROMS that are made for the G4 Plus also work for the G4?

Same platform, same architecture, same parts and internals, minus a fingerprint scanner and some hardware differences.
