I don't know what the bits are, but I wear sunglasses in the sunshine and have no trouble at all reading it.
I just did a side by side comparison with my Nexus 5X, and the Moto X4 is brighter and more visible in sunlight. The colors are punchier, as well (the Nexus 5X was known for having relatively accurate colors, at the expense of perceived vibrancy). The Nexus 5X was also considered pretty good in direct sun. The Moto X4 is better.

The max brightness is great. No issue reading under the sun. IMHO, the only displays that can do better are Super AMOLEDs from Samsung (S9 and iPhone X).

Moto g6 outdoor brightness
:crying::cyclops:THE MOTO G6 on the direct sun light is horrible,thi this summer when was nearoynearly 38° in London i wasi was struggling to view my display on my moto g6,it was impossible to see anything or at least you are Superman or wonderwoman and you have the super power view,bu but for normal sight people like me you need to be in a closed space or athome to be sblable to view the screen
Sometimes, it has some extrange flashes and flicks.

outdoors display has improved alot compared to other Honor devices.
But is it easily viewable in harsh sun? This is an essential point for me
It depend of screen manufacturer. My friend's honor 10 is ok. Myne is unviewable under sun.. I'm disapointed
it's far from great, it's OK, but for sure I've seen much brighter displays
No good visibility with outdoor light. Almost can't see the screen when using it as a GPS in my car.
Lot worse with EMUI10?
I have the feeling the phone has became unusable outdoor when the weather is very sunny. Am I the only one?

Outdoor viewing in bright sunlight is outstanding. Far superior to my LG V30.

I've owned this phone for about two days and have had no problems seeing the display in direct sunlight. Comparing the phone outside to my Note 9, they seem pretty close in brightness under direct sun. The Note 9 is a little brighter. One thing I did notice is that the Note 9 is more color accurate, which is to be expected.
