Hello everyone.
I have a Note 4, and I have flashed the last ROM for ODIN because it gave me some problems.
The case is that after flashing the ROM without giving any failure the ODIN, when starting and after leaving the green android doll saying that is installing the update, I start to get a lot of red letters on the screen, saying that it can not find the cache partition, the system partition (or none).
If I restart it, it does not go beyond the initial screen of Note 4.
Please help. I'm desperate and I do not know what else to do.
Sorry for my bad English.
I edit to expand information:
I have tried installing TWRP but it will not let me mount any partitions.
Motherboard problem?
Is there anyone who can help me, please?
I do not know what else to do to make it work ... :crying:
mb problem. put phone in freezer without battery. make it rly cold and then put battery and sim in and try to flash. should work. keep trying. it will eventually flash.
wakelock app and don't turn off.

Have searched the forum and couldn't find any discussion about a similar problem to what i'm having with my phone. This is super weird.
I'm on an official B928 rom. It started some time ago. Whenever i reboot my phone it "resets" to a particular state. Which means - everything i do with my phone before a reboot gets reversed back to a particular state at which my phone "froze". If i delete sms, they come back, if i install programs they are gone, if i uninstall programs - they come back and so on..
I've tried to flash B928 and B552, but i always get an error at the second stage (have tried all possible combinations - with/without the battery, formatting the card). Pink screen is blocked - can't unblock it, because my phone deletes the necessary files after reboot. Can't install CWM for the same reason.
Is that it? I'm out of ideas. If anyone can throw any idea at me or direct me in the right direction i would be very grateful.
Thank you
reboot recovery
advance menu
format /data
take a look if it help
I only have the standard recovery, not cwm, it doesn't have advanced menu.
But even if i try the wipes in it, it does nothing, meaning it doesn't even delete my data.
Thanks
I'm having the same issue with my u8800-51. My thread is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2331209 but no suggestions therein have helped, yet.
Ok, i see. I've seen some people restoring their phones with Acronis, but for this you need a working pink screen, which is a no-go for me..
Bootloop following contact with water? Or recent update?
Hello,
Here is my story : end of last wwek, my phone fall in a small amount of water (1cm) on the top (jack side). I wiped it very fast and use it for the next 30 min, everything is good. and then i let it 2 hours (charging or not i don't remember, i don't know if it can matter). After that i find it bootlooping was there an update, end of last week? Anyway i let it in that state at least 30 min and even more and then tried to restart it not better. I also tried a wipe cache and after that a factory reset, nothing...
Yersterday back to home, i tried to flash the 5.0.1 factory image ( didn't want to take the 5.1, because i feared a possible bad update on the image maybe) nothing better, even worst because after after some time of bootlooping, i've got the red light flashing :/
Same goes for the 4.4 flash but small miracle, it's working 4.2.2... During all those tries, i did some oem lock and unlock before and after each flash.
So my phone is working with the first version of android available, which is not the best.... I also tried the OTA update to the 4.3 and i also got stuck to a bootloop
So after that long story (sorry), I defer to your expertise because i don't know what else to do.
Please help :/
I just installed the lastest version of cyanogen and it's working well...
Still no idea whats happening there?
Seems to be a real big question i ask you there, but i continue my thinking on my side.
I dont like the idea, but it light be a hardware problem... Maybe a failing memory slot, or an unused component until then.
So it brings me 2 questions : how and where could i find logs after a failed update?
And how could i efficiently test my hardware CPU, RAM, as we can do on a computer?
Thanks in advance, any idea, help, joke are welcome
First of all I'm not a very techy girl so please give me step by step instructions to recover my Yureka (Phone Details are given below). Few days ago (as usual) I restarted my phone and suddenly noticed a weird thing, It was stuck at YU-bootscreen/Logo for many minutes but suddenly started getting booted but I ignored it. I never knew it's going to be a big mess soon. After few days I again rebooted my phone but this time it refused to boot, the same situation. It was stuck at YU Logo. I waited for a long time but no gain. Screen was constantly on and it was literally scaring me. finally I ejected/removed the battery forcefully and reinserted it and restarted the phone and again after getting stuck at YU Logo/bootscreen for a while it got booted and it was a relief of sign. Here comes the main problem. Again after few days Yureka started hanging as usual and I again rebooted it but this time it was dead-end for me. It's again stuck at YU Logo Screen. I tried restarting/removing the battery many times but no luck. It's stuck at the screen forever. I am trying/restarting/reinserting-the-battery again and again but seems it's stuck forever at the bootscreen. It's been few days but no luck. I am totally frustrated and don't know what to do! I have important data in the phone especially App Data like Hike/WhatsApp and some GamesData/SMSes/Contacts etc. Please guys help me. How to revive my Yureka without damaging the precious data?
Things I tried to solve the problem:
1) I removed the battery many times. I did reboots many times.
2) I tried "Wipe cache partition" option in the recovery menu (Power+Volume Up+Volume Down) multiple times. But no gain.
What could be the reason of this problem? Is this faulty internal memory? Because my phone is behaving weird since the day I purchased it. Random App crashes happen multiple times regularly. This service stopped that service stopped blah blah. It's so annoying and counter-productive. It Started hanging and lagging a lot too. And finally bricked. I think this bricking problem only happens when you fiddle with your OS or try to root or install any unsupported custom ROM, But I am on stock ROM then why did it happen with me? Hardware defect? Did I get a faulty phone? I always ignored App crashes/Google services crashed /Random auto-reboots because I though Cyanogen OS is prone to bugs. But this is insanely odd! So many bugs are too much. Stock ROM has to be stable. I think YU gave me a faulty device! Please help me. What to do now to turn on my device without losing the data? I didn't try the Wipe data/factory reset OR Wipe media because it will remove all of my data which is very important to me.
P.S. Please note that my phone is stuck at YU Logo (NON-Animated logo) NOT on Cyanogen Logo.
One Another Indication of the problem:
When I tried to charge my phone by turning it off completely and then connected the charger with it the same YU logo came up and screen never went blank/off (screen with YU logo was constantly ON) and the Red LED light (charging indicator) didn't turn on, It means I can't even charge my battery because I think it's not getting charged cuz it's stuck on the same screen and never shows battery indicator while soft-pressing power button curiously just to check I removed the battery and tried connecting the charger without battery in the phone and the Red LED turned on normally.

Yes it's KitKat 4.4.4
Download CM11 fastboot.zip and follow the flashing instructions from here.
This will erase everything from your device. If you don't want to lose data then download CM11 signed zip and flash it manually from stock recovery.

Hi! When the problem occurred I was thinking about the same solution, I mean flashing the ROM by putting it on a SD card. But I've two confusions on my mind
1. Should I directly flash CM 11.0 (the same ROM which I have currently) or the upgraded CM 12.0 (Lollipop)? I am confused
2. When this catastrophe happened, free space on internal memory was very low (I don't remember exactly but may be 100MB or 200MB or 300MB but very low). Will the ROM flashing process complete successfully?

1. COS12.1 Signed zip can be used to flash directly over COS11, but since there is lots of things happening in your phone, I'd suggest you to flash COS11 first.
2. 300MB is very low. Use external SD card because the size of signed zip is 500 MB.
Solution
Guyss plz plzz help me out, even my yureka has started behaving like this, im really fed up i tried many things but no use i tried the following things
1.installed stock rom using fastboot
2.flashed cm11 signed zip using recovery
3.clearing cache in storage
4.wiping dalvik and normal cache
Currently now i am using cm11 signed zip version
Hi everyone
I own a galaxy note 4 n910g running 5.0.1 rooted and have installed TWRP
I have pretty much learned about rooting and everything i know from youtube and various other how to do posts
I have been facing a peculiar problem
I had over heating issues and i found that indexservice was the culprit and disabled it...did not have the issue again
I had emmc read failed error again and again - i disabled the facebook app - i did not receive the error again - i do not know how to explain that, but i feel that is an observation that i made
So now the real issue
I am unable to go into recovery mode.
If i restart the mobile the mobile behaves as if it is hard bricked- Literally no response at all
I keep pressing all the hard keys in different combinations, but nothing seems to work at all
Now Here is the interesting fact
I remove the battery for bout six hours and try restarting it - it works
But if i switch off my mobile or try to go into recovery mode - my phone just becomes a brick for about 8- 12 hours
and i have to go through the tedious process of waiting
i m really stuck here -
i am unable to go into recovery mode to flash my rom
Neither am i able to restart my phone - so i have a charger in pocket always worrying when my phone would go poof
i am sick of this
i just want to flash my rom to the stock android and be happy with it
I have been reading a lot of ways to unbrick my mobile - i am unable to find it
This has been troubling me for atleast 20 days
i really hope if someone would be kind enough to put me out of my misery
can someone help me find what is the problem with my phone
and how to fix it
Thanks guys for taking the time to read this
same here

I have an exactly same problem with my SM-N910G..
And the fact is System partition detected, recovery partition detected, boot partition detected, but All about Data or Internal Storage were UNDETECTED...
Really, both of us need some help.. :crying:
Entering Recovery mode bricks phone for 8 hours? Feeling sorry for you guys. But i don't understand why phone needs 6 hours after battery is removed to come back to sense and work? Anyway, have you tried accessing the download mode, If yes just download a stock rom and flash it with odin.

Okay, i'll try that STOCK..
Have you any suggestion whether i should "repartition" it or not??
As my internal storage and data partition weren't detected (unreadable)

Hi harishjkhv,
If you are able to reboot after 6 hours by removing the battery, then try to reboot into download mode by using any super user app.
Then try to flash the stock firmware using Odin.

I've try flashing stock MM ROM from samfirmware with repartition checked..
But before i do that, i set my phone off while battery pulled out of the phone and charged separately using universal dock charger for 3 days..
My phone successfully boot and even i use for daily gaming like before, but the problem still remains..
Sometimes my phone got freeze (ended up with SOD), and when i pulled the battery off and on again, i failed to turn my phone on..
It have to wait for at least an hour without a battery..
And sometimes it says "ddi : mmc read failed" , no boot..
EDIT : oh yeah i forgot one thing, someone on the other forum encountering the same problem and suspect the power IC or mmc itself as the culprit..
And i myself think maybe because of overheating (on me is for games) those component became improperly attached to the curcuit board, and as the result is this hardbrick issues.. Will try some experiment..
I'll post here the result..
Its a software issue. I had the exact same issue with my T-Mobile version SM-N910T. I was able to resolve it by using ODIN to install the stock EPE3 along with the modem of COD6. After the phone restarted I placed the phone in download mode again and from there went on ODIN to install the EPE3 modem. After the phone restarts it should boot straight to the home screen.
Thanks guys. ..
Tried a lot of things
Nothing seemed to work...
I gave my phone to the service centre and they replaced my mother board
Cost me a lot. ..but still note 4 is worth it
Thank you guys for taking the time to help me and for your inputs

Do by a lot experiments, I've got some result that the Chips is already in the verge of death..
So replacing motherboard is the only solution for now, if someone having a same problem..
But, I hope no one encountering this problem anymore..
Hi guys, I was trying to restore the stock firmware on s7 edge but I don't know exactly went wrong but right now I'm able only to put the phone in downloade mode and anything else.
And sorry for my bad, bad english.
First of all, I flashed the black peark about 6 months ago and I was just trying to remove by flashing the stock oreo firmware via odin but i was stuck at “SetupConnection” so (after that i saw the black pearl has been updated so i try to install it again) I tried booting into twrp and wipe all the partition but I was getting the error “Unable to mount partition”, what I think just broke my twrp is that to get rid of that message I tried to change the partition file system of data to ext2 (in this way I thought i could have got back in ext4). The last 2 lines were ”formattin…” and “done” but nothing happened and when my phone rebooted i was unable to do anything except going in download mode.
Please Help, I need to get my phone back to life.
Re-flash
You might need to re-flash a ROM to your device using ODIN and if you're going to root then make sure that you use the Samsung AntiRoot Removal Kit. It seems that you messed up somewhere along the line and need to start from scratch. If you get stuck and require help, just let me know. I am no expert but I'm here to help others.
