INFO !!!
My first update OverTheAir with this file was a fail. Only black screen after update and reboot.
(I think because i did not change the country code after flashing KitKat a few weeks ago)
(If the update stuck at 100% in recovery you also have to reflash KitKat ROM)
So i flashed original 830F KitKat ROM via "PhoneFlashTool" with this ROM / Tutorial:
https://cloud.mail.ru/public/Z2US9gd..._150422_ROW.7z
http://www.android-hilfe.de/thema/tutorial-wie-installiere-ich-das-kommende-update-wenn-es-nicht-funktioniert-fuer-alle-varianten.697884/
Changed the "Country Code Setting" via ContactApp ####6020# to "de" (select your language).
And do not update any app like Chrome etc. when it reboots again after.
Then download and start the Lollipop 5.0.1 Update.
Lollipop upgrade reboots into recovery and stays 5min. at 100%.
Then reboots into some intel-flash mode and stays for 4min.
After it reboots into Lollipop OS... :cyclops:
INFO 2 !!! (if you installed Lollipop update 1 first and now restoring/flashing of KitKat ROM fails)

I have the same problem, only that I had the first Lollipop version for 1050F with root and then got the new Lollipop update. The Kitkat version fails to flash. But here is what helped: Go to this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/thi...-8-10-13-3-t2930428/post60490907#post60490907
and download the LtoKKxml.7z and copy the files into the kitkat firmware folder and then flash using flash-LtoKK-PVT-810.xml
I had to remove the parts of the XML that erase and format data. Then it worked
After that I could flash KitKat!!

LOLLIPOP ROOT
So easy, follow steps 1-8: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/intel-android-devices-root-temp-cwm-t2975096
I download "IntelAndroid-FBRL-05-16-2015-PTR.7z" and "UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip" and it worked with Lollipop 5.0.1.
Make sure you have all the Android, Intel, ADB driver stuff installed (for me win7 installed another one at rooting?)
!!! USE OPTION T4 FOR LOLLIPOP ROOT !!!

Yup I got the notice a few mins ago. I also got it many weeks ago when it bricked my yoga 2 8.3
Advice, when it says Updating....100%. Leave it alone. Last time I thought it was done since it said 100% for many many minutes. So i thought it was stuck or bricked. Just let it sit. It will reboot by itself and restart to the next phase.
It will also sit on the Lenovo android screen for quite a while before it goes to Android is upgrading.
Yes, i got problems too!
- It stays for 8min. at 100%. I leave it alone...
- Then 4 chinese Buttons showed up.
- I pressed the first (reboot i think)
- it reboots, it shows the white lenovo text, then black screen with background light on.
- i waited 10min., no change or start into OS.
- then i pressed 15sek power off, light goes off.
- if i power on, again white lenovo text, then black screen with background light on. nothing... ???
i reboot into recovery and wiped cache, nothing.
i think i will make update from SD card again... see if something happend
Update again from SD dont work! it says:
"/system/app/Chrome.apk" has unexpected contents...
E: Error in /sideload/package.zip
SUCCESS, LOLLIPOP IS WORKING!!!
I Have restored original KitKat ROM via "PhoneFlashTool" with this ROMs / Tutorial:
https://cloud.mail.ru/public/Z2US9gd6f2ei/YT2-830F_S0195_150422_ROW.7z

This time i´ve made the "Country Setting" via ContactApp ####6020# to "DE" befor download and upgrade!
And i have aborted the automatic PlayStore updates for Chrome etc...
Lollipop upgrade reboots into recovery and stays 5min. at 100%.

After it reboots into Lollipop OS...
So can you boot back into android? Even after you wiped it? If not and you can't do anything, call Lenovo. I think only they can fix it.
If you can get back into android, I would suggest waiting for the System update notice. That's what showed up this morning for me. I didn't have any chinese buttons. I didn't have to touch anything, just wait for a really long time which is unnerving because I don't know status.
I flashed the KitKat Version again, changed country code, and installed the new Lollipop 5.0.1 update again.
This time there are no chinese buttons to press. (i think because changing the country code befor update).
Lollipop is great, the display is much faster while scrolling in chrome etc.
Interesting. I wonder what the difference between the versions of the country codes are. Mine bricked last time it was updated to lollipop. When I got the repair back, it was back to kitkat and I couldn't update until this morning.
Glad to hear you got it fixed. A few of my apps also stopped working and I had to clear the cache to get it working again after the update.
There are some differences in pre-installed apps. I did not changed the country code few weeks ago because there are some apps in german setup i do not want...

You need to flash the stock kk firmware.

Yes, It looks like I cannot just upgrade from rooted KK. I had to go back to stock kk firmware provided in the OP's link and follow step by step instructions using google translate. thanks workdowg and 5m00v3.
anyone missing 5GHz band Wi-Fi support with country code DE? I cannot seem to change the country code once it has been upgraded to Lollipop.

Lollipop does not longer provide the option to manual change band... it will auto connect to 5ghz if possible.
It has nothing to do with country code DE. You can check your connection 2,4/5ghz with the app "wifi band".
My YT2 connects automatic to my 5ghz. And i have 2 networks (2,4 + 5ghz) with same networkname.

Okay, I found the solution ! Make the tablet totaly Off, press volume up and volume down, than press power bouton, you directly acces to fastboot mode, and here you can flash with Phone Flash Tool.
Hi,
thanks for the timming TIPs !!
I can't believe LENOVO dosen't take care of this basic things !!
Thanks to you Lollipop is running on my beloved Yoga.
A little tip while we are avaiting 5.1,
Go in Parameter
Activate DEV options : About this tablet, touch 7 times on "Build Version", it will activate the Developper Menu in parameters
Go to Developpers Option (in PArameter)
UNCheck NuPlayer in multimedia.
--> REBOOT your device
It will allow you to avoid Lagging into the UI and apps.
Note that in 5.1 NuPlayer has been replaced by a bugfree version.
Now my last issue is to root the Lenovo...

Googling ”E: failed to verify whole-file signature" and each one talks about a corrupt download... They are old posts from 2013 or so but they could be right.
Try this version 2.40. You can update in the Play store once your rooted.

Thanks for your help.
I tried the 2.40 version triple check the zip file, aleas same error...
Also there are not only corruptions problems related... some are related to CMW version problem and lack of "unsign" option..
Again thanks for the 2.40 link. If you have any suggestion I'm all ears.
There is a new update, to yt2-830f_usr_s100191_1511230623_ww52_row
anyone tried it already?
Looks like it requires going back to stock KitKat again just to update it.
Can't really be bothered trying it.
After rooting with the KingRoot apk apps would start crashing randomly (no message, just every running app would exit and throw me to my home screen), so I decided to factory reset. I grabbed Titanium Backup, grabbed the app backups I needed, then did the reset. Phone booted up, but now the setup wizard just crashes every run through and restarts itself, leaving my phone useless.
It may be important to know that after KingRoot, my boot screen had an unlocked lock with the text "custom" under it- I figure this means my bootloader is unlocked, but I could be wrong.
I've enabled USB Debugging through the recovery screen.
Setup Wizard (Without SIM):
Connect to Wifi network -> Next -> Crash
Skip connect to wifi -> Skip anyway -> Crash
Setup Wizard (With SIM):
Properly IDs my number and connects to 4G -> Next -> Sometimes crash
Skip Verizon Cloud -> Not Now -> Crash
Setup Verizon Cloud -> Finished Setting up -> Crash

Option 1 (TWRP) nogo, no previous TWRP installed
Option 2 (Odin) nogo, tried both through the website on Linux/FF and through Windows (VirtualBox). The website asks me for the PIT, then when it tries to retrieve it from the device it fails. The app on Windows doesn't ask me for it, but when trying to install it it pops up "secure check fail: recovery" on the phone's screen (the app does nothing).
Option 3 (dd) nogo, can't get an adb root shell
Rerooting through the KingRoot desktop app:
It looks like it succeeds (it's all in Chinese).
adb root gives "adbd cannot run as root in production builds"
adb shell su gives "[-] Connection to ui timed out"

I had also sideloaded gapps-lp-20150314 (for 5.1.X) in hopes that it would fix it up.
Anything else I should try? Any stock images so I can do a complete, fresh, reinstall? I know someone here was working on getting stock everything uploaded- will that be my best bet?
Thanks!

I think the twrp was not for your phone. All the cores have Qualcomm snapdragon processors and I do believe most of them are LTE. I know for a fact tmobiles is an lte. The problem is Verizon paid for the kernel so they could control our access. That's why we're the last one to get anything done. Basically, by flashing the recovery, you may have soft bricked your phone since it compiles with a different kernel. Yes, Verizon has a different kernel. If you check opensource.samsung.com, you'll notice our phone is not listed. Thats thanks to Verizon. I'm pretty sure that's illegal too but I'm not a lawyer. Until we get a stock rom or someone has an idea, I do believe your phone is KIA.
Ugh, thanks verizon. However, the soft brick immediately happened after the factory reset, not the install of twrp (it kicks out of that pretty quick). I know you're working on a stock rom in another thread, anything you need to speed up the process? I'm honestly about to just get a Nexus 5 from Amazon Prime, they're pretty cheap and it's getting rough not having mobile data.
With the new OTA having just rolled out, I'm going to pull it. You'll be able to use it to recover
https://mega.nz/#!0Q1nFQ7a!pHublKgmjElaZmePKUWxTB5rlgLytu921bFIJJbII_E
Link to the new OTA.
Flash using either recovery, if you still have access or fastboot.
And TWRP is official. I found the actual name from verizon, and it matches. Careful with the OTA, I'm now soft bricked.

Awesome, you're a lifesaver. I'll do this once I get back from work- can't say I really want to deal with VirtualBox USB passthrough today or that sketchy looking java/web one.
I've still got access to everything (download, recovery, adb, no fastboot though). So the linked version of TWRP (coreprimelte or whatever) is specifically for this phone? Any reason I wasn't able to successfully flash it?
Last thing- and thanks so much- what does that zip actually contain, and if it is just the OTA files, then will I still avoid the soft brick you ran into?
Unfortunately, the OTA update changed nothing. Dunno if it was supposed to (I didn't see Setup Wizard files in there) but I'll trade a soft brick for a soft brick. There was some red debug info on screen when applying, but the phone quickly rebooted afterwards. If you need me to, I could probably adb in and check the version numbers to see if it applied and/or rerun the update and capture that debug info.
Maybe all I need is a stock copy of the Setup Wizards- I should be able to sideload them over the existing versions, right?
Maybe. I'll dig through the system and see if I can find the original.
It might be a part of gapps
That's what I was thinking too, and I've tried reapplying gapps-lp-20150314.zip. I think the Setup Wizard it's crashing on isn't the stock android one, but one of the samsung/verizon ones I listed in the first post.
Found it. Once my son goes down for his nap, I'll upload it for you.
https://mega.nz/#F!BE1TVbTL!d2G2P9S1jVyV-mr8UsfAGw
That's the entire folder in /system/app
It was worth a shot, but sideloading that apk failed. The stock you are working on should be the ultimate fix though.
I uploaded the official md5 from Samsung kies 3. It's in a new thread.

Hi there, I'm experiencing some issues with my new bought phone Huawei P8 Lite(ALE-L21 Single-Sim locked in Vodafone Romania).
The first issue and that's kinda important is the notification one; I won't receive for example Facebook's Messenger messages, when phone it's locked or often on home screen. I've given priority on that damn task killer, I did anything recommended on all forums and sites, even from WhatsApp's thread about receiving delayed notifications, I also installed that Push notifications app;
When I said I often receive notifications on my home screen it's beacuse they are delayed I think. I want to fix this so bad so I made a thread about this. Everything has priority, even networking apps, the lock screen has the default theme, I really don't know what to do anymore.
And the second one is about the common double tap execution when writing or tapping or anything else. I'm experiencing some troubles there too, especially when I'm writing, the phone is executing the second tap without my action and I don't know how to fix that.
I'll let some informations about my phone..
I've purchased this phone on 31th of May, 2016
The model number is ALE-L21/Single Sim
The build number is ALE-L21C02 B140
Android 5.0.1 with EMUI 3.1
Phone isn't rooted or modified, and I want to fix these without rooting if it's possible.
well .. you have 2 options:
1. Check notifications manager from notifications panel
2. Upgrade to marshmallow: upgrade to b170 then upgrade to b564 and hope this will fix your problem xD
About the double tap: that is an often problem on this huawei and you can fix that by upgrading to last version of marshmallow.
Can't find an notification manager, may you show me where it is?
And about the versions I found only b170 but it's from spain and I told you that I'm a little bit scared beacuse it's locked in Vodafone Romania
It doesn't matter from where it is, it's official from huawei. It doesn't matter if it's locked in vodafone romania, mine was also locked in vodafone romania, and i have b565 now
You won't brick your phone.
Here it's notification manager:
If you can't find notification, it means that this option is not available on 5.0
May you give me some links to the updates, please? I really don't want to f**k up the phone
Update via local update: make a folder named dload on your internal memory or sdcard an put the update.app inside of this zip
Then, update with the same procedure to 6.0 by installing update.app from this zip

It looks that Your phone is branded and I don't know if You will have balong bug after upgrading the system to B170 and upper. I recommend you to make a debrand process but it needs an unlocked bootloader. When You decide to do it remember to have done a backup of Your data!

Oups, didn't read c02 xD
But i don't think it's a big problem, even if he has balong, he can install vendor or change it.
Could you explain me what's "balong" and "vendor"; I'm sorry but I'm completely parallel with these kind of "deep" stuff in phones..
Balong is a bug that appears when you are installing a firmware that is not for your country and it's a problem with the version not showing properly. The vendor file will fix it.
Sent from my ALE-L21 using XDA-Developers mobile app
And where can I find the vendor file, to avoid the balong bug?
And also is it a problem if I update my One-Sim Phone with an Dual-Sim FW?
That's strange, why are you having b140 on single sim?
And why you want to update with a dual sim version on single sim?
Just install b171 first then install b551, at last install b565 via ota.
Vendor file is inside firmware archives.
Hi,
I bought this phone Huawei P8Lite (ALE-L21) without being connected to any network carrier.
Before I start to unlock bootloader, install TWRP and Root the phone, I checked the system version and EMUI and the rest of the information needed before update to Marshmallow 6.0.
Before I had the following info:
OS: Lollipop 5.0.1
EMUI: 3.0
(ALE-L21C432B200)
At this point I had no update via OTA - (to the Android 6.0 Marshmallow), and made only unlock bootloader
After several hours of searching, I found that I could do a local update (B560 Marshmallow Firmware [Europe] - Dual SIM) available by Huawei.
Link: http://www.carbontesla.com/2016/06/download-huawei-p8-lite-l21-b564-marshmallow-firmware-europe/
I checked Huawei PDF on how to do the update but does not mention Required Version and proceeded to local update.
So far so good, the phone did the update without any problem.
I checked OTA for new update and the phone made update for B564 - Also mentioned by Carbontesla.com
Link: http://www.carbontesla.com/2016/06/download-huawei-p8-lite-l21-b564-marshmallow-firmware-europe/
Phone did the update (B564) without any problem, then I proceed installing TWRP and then I root the phone.
All work beautifully, but I noticed that whatever the application I use both SMS, Facebook, Whatsapp, GMail, takes too long to receive notifications.
I do not know if he was already with this bug when the phone was with Lollipop 5.0.1 with (ALE-L21C432B200) and EMUI 3.0
I have not had time yet to reset the phone to factory settings and verify that fixed the bug, I will do this weekend week :fingers-crossed:
Can someone help me?

Yes, I've been checking battery management if everything with access to work in the background for apps, and it seems to be ok and notification center too.
It continues with the same delay / bug
I hope this weekend to reset the phone to factory settings and verify if it keeps the same problem.

I'll be back once I have the result:fingers-crossed:
Before starting to reset the phone to factory settings, I made backup all my personal files and a recovery with TWRP if something wrong happened.
It seems to be all right after the whole process
I receive all notifications like any other phone in normal operation, no delay :good:
But before I celebrate, I will be alert to phone with daily use to make sure that everything continued well.
Thanks for all the help :good:
I just got this tablet from Amazon and it came with Android 6.0 and it says there is not an update available. How do I get stock 7.0 on it? I had read reviews that said it was updated which is one of the reasons I bought it.
I never got an OTA for 7 I had to use Firmware Finder in the play store. It found it, downloaded it and installed it.
Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
Here’s how I upgraded. Reposted from another forum.
The update checker was a non-starter for me until I used it with firmware finder and bypassed having to use a micro+SD card in order to upgrade to EMUI 5. First, I picked the 2.5gb file option within firmware finder which is basically EMUI 5, chose the get an update using dns beta option. Added the dns address that firmware finder provided to my wifi settings by holding down your wifi, choosing modify network, tick advanced options, change settings to static, and then change the dns to the one provided by firmware finder. From there, it downloaded the file, but once finished it passed it on to Huawei's upgrader app and it took over from there. Just remember to remove the dns address from your wifi settings when finished. As I mentioned didn't need to use a SD card and once finished, checked the Huawei updator again and there was another small update available. I thought it was the easiest way to upgrade without having to do too many steps. Once the file was passed on to the Huawei upgrader, it did all the work.

Dear friend I have also bought these wonderful tablets these days, I have the same problem, so I installed "firmware finder" app so I can download the new firmware for emui 5.0 btv-w09c100b302, I do not know if the procedure is correct, light forums before upgrade, I would like someone to tell me if I can proceed safely with the upgrade, thank you
I posted how I did it above and it’s correct, and it’s safe. Follow the directions.
okay it's not super clear with Firmware Finder version 6.6 but I finally watched enough videos to figure it out.
Install Firmware Finder
Tap on your model number (should pop up right away at top)
Tap on latest FULL version
Check Firmware access
Tap IN-APP PROXY
Goto wifi settings and press hold your wifi
tap modify
show advanced
PROXY select manual
Proxy hostname: localhost
Proxy port 8080
save or connect
Go to Settings
system update
check for update. It should then show an update. Tap and let it download and install.
Edit: I do not recall having to change the DNS setting. I just checked and mine was still set to DHCP so I am sure I did not change it. Once done with update though do go back and remove the Proxy setting.

I never got an OTA for 7 I had to use Firmware Finder in the play store. It found it, downloaded it and installed it.

I got a BTV-W09C128B005 FW version (USA from Amazon). Updater didn't show any updates. I downloaded a two folder update. I unpacked them (.zip) and put on an SD card under 'dload'. I pressed the vol up/ vol down and power to start the update. It worked and went to BTV-W09C128B350. I then deleted the contents of the 'dload' folder on the SD card, and replaced them with the unpacked USA data upgrade files. The data folder included a lot of app .apks including one called 'bluetooth'. The force update for the 2nd set of files took very little time, and it didn't seem to do anything. It didn't update or install any apps from the data folder, and the vers. stayed at B350. Now bluetooth won't turn on, and the 'update' app is missing from the 'settings' menus. I can't use the other update methods because they use the missing update app.
Huawei cust. support chat assured me that the Android 7 update (OTA) would arrive if I was patient enough. (6 months, yeah right.)
I'm returning this to Amazon to start over. This time I'm going to try other methods that use the updater app, or log into the PC program HiSuite to see if it pushes the update properly.
You chose the complicated way to upgrade. My input ( above ) for how to upgrade is a lot easier and is less riskier as Huawei's upgrade software is involved. Your call, but if you hit a brick wall on other ways to upgrade, consider my suggestion.
Thanks dude (@b4u2), worked like a charm!

Looked like security patches and bug fixes to me. They installed after I did the full update. I really like this tablet now that it's on 7.0

Did they installed without the app Firmware Finder ?
I like it too with Android 7.0 , despite all the bloatware apps (I'm coming from a Nexus 7).

For me they installed without firmware finder. Right after first boot, I went to System Settings, and the Update section showed the OTA update. It installed 2. Only thing disappointing is that they haven't released an update to fix KRACK yet.

Here’s how I upgraded. Reposted from another forum.
The update checker was a non-starter for me until I used it with firmware finder and bypassed having to use a micro+SD card in order to upgrade to EMUI 5....

I stupidly tried an SD card method first, and ended up with an upgraded tablet with no Bluetooth and keyboard issues. Finally got back to original state and followed @callanish method. Worked beautifully and easily. Anyone else looking to update, I'd suggest this easy method that works. Thanks @callanish! (seriously registered here just to say thanks)

I wasn't so lucky: I had to install it with Firmware Finder (only the one of ~500MB).
Can you please tell me which security patch level do you have ?
I have those of May 2017.
That's what I have, May if 2017. I also used firmware finder and to my knowledge, that's the newest available for this tablet.

I did this too, because the instructions in FF app were crap for the other methods. I found the SD card method and ran with it. It didn't put the USA data files on that included the keyboard and bluetooth, and updater app.
I had to return mine to Amazon and try again using the DNS / Updater app method on FF. This time it worked great! This tablet is sooo much better with updated launcher and Android 7.
How on earth did you get it back to original state without sending it back?

I think there is a security patch level more recent than May '17.
I got my US version with the B005 FW vers. It had a SP level of something like Aug '17 (I don't remember exactly, but it after May of this year.)
It showed no updates in the updater app, but I upgraded it using FF app, and now it says May '17 for the SP level.
I don't think Huawei ever intended US versions to get the Android 7 update because it doesn't comply with current SP levels.
Hi all, I have a question, when I open Firmware Finder I have a list of 4 FullOTA (see attached screenshot), all with the same release date, how can I choose the right one?
@fidrat I worded that poorly. I used the same technique you did, started with a new one.
Hello,
Here is my problem.
2 days ago, I wanted to root my phone to get rid of any Google stuff (at this point I didn't know the existence of ADB commands :crying: ).
I followed a step by step youtube tutorial (youtube.com/watch?v=ZD-5twDm6XI), which works with TWRP, magisk and Odin (factory reset is needed).
Once everything is finished, my phone is finally rooted, and I grant superuser rights to Titanium app to uninstall google, and only SOME apps uninstalled totally (maps, chrome, facebook) BUT google play services won't uninstall. So, I try with System App Removal to uninstall google play stuff, and the same happens.
I reboot my phone, and it seems that everything disappeared... Not so sure... Indeed, the play store reinstall all applications as soon as I connect to the WiFi! and I have a persistent message "google play services stopped" that prevents me from browsing for example.
At this point, I use ADB commands, to remove anything which contains "com.blahblah.google.blahblah" and the play store (com.android.vending) with -k command. And it worked totally fine !!!!! I disconnect my phone, ready to backup my data. Idkw, i wanted to uninstall system app removal. IMPOSSIBLE from the phone, which says : "samsung One UI stopped" (I was in safe boot mode). My phone doesn't answer, so I reboot it.
Once it has booted, the TWRP menu screen appears. Ok, isn't that weird ? I swipe to allow changes, then I go to system to boot "normally" my phone.
A warning says : NO OS INSTALLED !!!! I don't understand, I panic, but finally boots my phone. Black charging screen. Forever.
I started first to flash an "official" Samsung ROM from Sammobile. TWRP indicates it is an invalid .zip, adb too. Odin doesn't manage to boot from the ROM too. I take a deep breathe and cry. Then I download the /e/ ROM which works fine !! but it has become impossible to backup my data from my samsung account....
So, I came to ask you a few things. WHY did it happen ? How can I be sure that there is no trace of TWRP anymore ? However, my phone storage is 64 GB and there is only 53,5 Gb free of internal storage !? Do you think the original firmware could be "hidden" in my files (e ROM is about 800Mos compressed) ?
It is stupid, but after my mistakes, I miss google...
I will do my best to reply asap.
Thank you for your help !

Google writes and distributes android.
There are many things in android that you cannot remove and still have a viable system.
imho you will have to flash a rom but we need your phones information (found in settings/system/about phone) model, version baseband, etc. etc
Others more knowledgeable can step in and help.

Thank you for your reply ! I've read your article about FRP but I'm afraid it's not my problem...
Here are some of my phone specifications :
model : SM-G950F
version baseband : G950FXXS8DTC1
OS : /e/ version 0.9-p-dev-dreamlte (LineageOS API : Ilama 9)
Android 9
I've been digging the web for ROMs but each time I feel unsecure about it (virus, etc...) so I hope maybe you have something trustworthy

I've been browsing through my root files and folders ( / ) ...
So :
/system is occupied with 2.33 GB
/vendor with 577 MB
/mnt with 9.01 GB
/proc with ... 236.9GB but every under-folder is empty... (explanations welcome !)
/storage is empty
If anyone could check on his device (S8 Exynos with android 9.0 Pie and One UI) if the files' sizes approximately matched, it would be great !
The one I just received is G950FXXS8DTC6 / G950FOXM8DTC1 / G950FXXS8DTC1 (after it took the Apr 1 update) so probably identical - a Yateley GU46 6GG UK phone. I am running it on ATT Prepaid(US) , which gave me the Apr 1 update. I don't know its history but it hasn't been modified - knox=0.
What you would need to do is get that zip and flash it with odin, but having no experience flashing the S8 myself, or any idea where to get that zip, I can be of no help to you. (I just came off a moto x4 which I ruined by flashing a couple custom rom's to try to help others on that forum - the blessings of Pie on that device!)(plus, taking the Apr 1 update on that phone requires a factory reset/wipe.) I needed a dependable phone here and in Europe on vacation.
Keep posting and ask someone to help you re-flash it.
EDIT: I wonder what a settings/general management/factory reset would do. But don't do one until someone here much more experienced with the S8 suggests it.
EDIT: WARNING WARNING WARNING -> Before flashing, ACTIVATE PIN in "Secure startup" (You'll be asked for it AFTER flashing!)
lockscreen and security / secure startup / require pin
I also see a note to delete your google account before doing this. Don't know if necessary.
EDIT: I believe I have found the rom - see pic This is from the SamFirm exe. 0.3.7 I put VOD for the region.
Remember: don't do anything with this until someone experienced in S8 tells you to!
Hi KrisM22,
I've already flashed with Odin, and I have talked about this on different forums, seen tutos on websites,... I hope this time it will work
I have the ROM required, selected activate pin, followed step by step the recommendations, and if I figured it out I will keep you up to date !

I flashed a ROM from https://www.imei.info/download-firmware/samsung/samsung-g950f-galaxy-s8/SM-G950F/ , then I just followed the steps and flashed with Odin. TWRP has disappeared (the classic recovery menu came back). I think I have found my issue with the "no OS installed" bug : it could be because I deleted the essential API com.google.android.packageinstaller, what may have prevented the phone from booting and launching the OS and its apps .
I should have read this excellent post before...
*I ran antivirus analysis with virustotal and Bitdefender, which both declared the extracted files were safe : I didn't notice anything different by my phone compared to the original OS too, so...
