I was trying to root my phone and use Super SU to do so. I was on the TWRP and i couldn't find the SuperSU file so i rebooted my phone and it just goes to the bootloader screen. The screen just stays stuck but if i long press the power button it goes back to TWRP. I don't know whether to wipe everything or turn of my phone and back again. Someone please help me!
Download supersu and move your phone. Then flash it.

Where can i find the SuperSU download because it says my internal storage is zero. What if I can't find it how to i boot back to my home screen. I have an SD card and it says that all my storage is in there.
I flashed supersu and it still goes to the bootloader screen what do i do know?
Go twrp and connect to your PC. Then backup your data. You should format data if internal storage is 0
alright i successfully rooted but whenever i restart my phone it shows up both the bootloader screen and the enter pin screen. How do i remove those screens to just go straight to my lock screen?

try going back to stock using MiFlash and when you setup fingerprint +pin do not have it require pin on startup. Then re-root the phone

Hey I currently Installed Miui 1.9.2 after I installed it and change the theme in the theme manager the screen went completely black so now I don't know how to put the brightness back because I can't see anything and my phone has password pin :/
When I try to go into HBoot I can't because of the pd15diag.zip it asks me to volume up if I want to install either choice I make it install and after that it reboots so am stuck in this loop any help will be appreciated
ok
well press volume down then click on recovery then wipe data, cache, and dalvik cache and re flash rom I had the same issue exactly
It doesn't seem like you read the big red announcement at the top of the thread. There's also no need to create a new thread for an issues that's already been addressed over and over in the ROM thread.

Easiest way to bypass it trying to update pd15img is to remove your memory card to boot into recovery and once your into recovery, reinsert the sd and mount it. Then once you've resetup the rom... Get that file off the root of your sd card unless you actually need it
Shine a flashlight on the screen. Your backlight is off. Hold it at the right angle and you should be able to see your screen. Unlock the pin, go to settings and turn off auto brightness. Try it in a really dark room.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
EVen flashing the light still might not show anything....itsjust a black screen after splash screen. the only thing to do is wipe and reflash. As they said earlier before you try to get into recovery remove you sd card then hold power+vol down and select recovery. once in recovery reinsert the sd card then just wipe and flash agagin. after your all booted up first thing to BEFORE anything else is from the home screen press menu go to settings then display settings and turn auto brightness off. DO NOT pull down the notification bar because that will just cause a black screen again.

I solved the problem by removing my SD CARD and once into recovery reinserted the SD CARD hehe.
Thanks for the replies guys
Basically my phone fails to boot or do anything, power button is broken, it turns on when conneted to a charger. When its connected it vibrates and thats it, screen doesn't turn on nothing happens.
So basically the following happened I accidentally deleted "system/usr" but i had a copy and tried to copy back but was unable to do so. So i rebooted the phone, seemed to boot up normally however on the att boot up screen the phone froze.
I removed the battery and booted up the phone but it would freeze in the same att screen (I repeated this about 3 times)
After no results I booted my phone up in Safestrap recover which worked perfectly, in recovery I used the file manager to supposedly copy "usr" to "system" which supposedly did go through So i reboted the phone using reboot system option .
(Repeated this process about 3 times) still got stuck at last boot screen on the att logo.
So after this I repeated the process of copying "usr" to "system". But this time i rebooted to recovery thinking it would boot back to Safestrap, however it booted to stock android recovery.
In stock recovery I was able to navigate but I couldnt select anything (due to broken power button) so I removed the battery. This is when it all went bad the phone now wont boot. Only vibrates when connected to charger but the screen remains black.
EDIT: the phone boots back up to safestrap, however it still wont boot up. Still gets stuck on att boot screen (im suspecting because of the removed "usr" file) is there a way i can use The command terminal in safestrap to copy back the "usr" file.

Maybe, and just maybe, you could use ADB.
Otherwise you might have to somehow try and get download mode booting and re-flash stock rom.

Just reflash the rom you are on without wiping. That should fix it.
Is the phone an i337? If it is, you're in the wrong s4 forum.

In cases like this it's best to backup everything you want and then perform a full wipe.
ps if you are still on 4.2.2. that means you don't have an locked bootloader right? Then why are you using safestrap? I thought that's only for when you have a locked bootloader.

I think AT&T and Verizon phones always had locked bootloaders, just that the earlier versions were easier to hack.
if its hard bricked, try jtag

same problem here and cant find solution ...
I had the same issue. when you press to reset button when the phone boots it should reboot and for a short time go to recovery and try to write some commands, right? if it does like mine did then what i did to fix it was boot up the phone and wait for the page saying encryption unsuccesful to popup and on the computer have the adb reboot recovery ready to go so when you press the reset button and the recovery menu pops up press enter on the computer before it goes away and it should send you to the regular recovery menu. from there you should go back to wipe and press the format data button where you have to type yes to erase everything. let me know how it went.
you will have to reflash the supersu but it should now be working like it should
Flash the latest su and your fine.

Make sure your on charging mode and you have adb debug enabled
send the adb reboot recovery command as soon as the twrp connects to the computer. as soon as you hear it connect to the computer it should work if your drivers are working.

What screen are you stuck in? Do you have adb up and running?
Same as before Encryption unsuccessful. I was able to do the trick, got into two and wiped data. Then rebooted to system and it went right back to that screen. I've tried 100 times or so to get back into twrp with no luck. I hear the computer recognize the device when it goes into twrp for 2 seconds after you click reset. Not sure if that means add is up and running or not.

Had the same problem and could not for the life of me do the adb thing. Someone here stated something that I thought I'd try: Press volume down while plugging in the phone to get into fastboot. In a command window issue "fastboot oem lock" (this will relock the boot) > Let the phone reset and you'll see the "Phone corrupt message" > Plug the phone in again to do a fastboot and issue "fastboot oem unlock" > Take the battery out let the phone boot and BAM-E WHAM success!
btw. I followed the steps here to do the whole root thing with Android . how (google "how to root the v20")
I think the "data" wipe did this and according to this site it's not a necessary step so skip it.
This option works!

I go my T-mobile LG V20 H918 on 11/23/16 and sure enough, I followed the same thread as listed above where it added the step of "data wipe" crap. I was caught in a bootloop, where phone kept bootlooping back to the "reset to factory." The other method of entering the adb command at the right time was more frustrating than anything. (I never got it to work). I spent all day yesterday trying to get this phone working. I re-read (x30) the above thread and on the first attempt it worked. I did not get the "Phone Corrupt Message," but I went ahead and entered the "fastboot oem unlock" and the F#$king phone finally reboot to the setup initial screen. It wiped everything, but having a phone working rather than a nice $800 paperweight, I wanted to kiss SkyHusky for sharing this simple method. YOU ARE AWESOME!!!!
By the way, since I am a glutton for punishment, I followed the steps to root again. After flashing the SuperUser, I rebooted to System. I was at the initial setup screen. My phone is rooted, has TWRP, and SuperUser! As soon as I got the phone working, I went back to TWRP and made a BACKUP!!!!
It is amazing that every time I f-up a phone, I can always come to XDA and get a solution. THANKS GUYS!

No problem!! Also I forgot to add I only rooted afterward and didn't try to install a ROM or anything. I would think you risk danger with some ROMs without that decryption thing turned off. So maybe in the short future there will be better fixes.
Hey, so I have had my phone rooted for a long time. I have a Galaxy S5 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
I decided I wanted to get Framework installed so I downloaded the right files and flashed it in TWRP.
My phone took way longer than 10 min to reboot into system so I thought I was stuck in a bootloop and decided to run my phone through TWRP again.
I tried rebooting but that didn't work. I have my phone's backup saved onto a micro SD so I did a factory reset and then tried rebooting.
I got past the rebooting logo and actually got to my lock screen where it asks for my password.
From there, I've been getting spammed with 3 different messages, one saying that IMS service is down, com.sec.vsimservice is down, and WfcService is down.
After I press ok to all 3 of the messages, my phone is still in the lock screen asking for my password but the phone doesn't recognize that im touching the screen to type. After letting the phone stay like that for a few minutes, the lock screen that asks for my password goes away and all I can see is my wallpaper background (no notification panel either) but now the phone recognizes me touching the screen ( I know that because the LED lights up for the windows button and back button )
So basically I decided to go into TWRP and flash my recovery that I had saved on the microSD.
After that didn't work, I've just been going through a series of factory resetting my phone and wiping Dalvik files and then flashing my recovery. My phone is getting unrealistically hot too.
Btw I never downloaded the Exposed Uninstaller from the forum so I tried downloading it onto my pc and then sending the file over to my phone through download mode using Odin so that I could flash the uninstaller through my TWRP but that didn't work because the PDA in Odin does not recognize the uninstaller file.
Please, I really need help and thanks to anyone who tries, it would mean a lot if someone could figure out what I can do. Thanks.
Since you've tried restoring your backup and everything seems to have failed (it sucks, I know) you should try to install a completely stock firmware which you can download from here: http://live.samsung-updates.com/index.php?device=SM-G900I Just make sure you select your exact phone model from the dropdown menu at the top right side as you didn't mentioned which of the 40 S5s you have lol. And after you flash stock firmware and successfully boot up try to restore your backup. If it's still bugged - flash stock again and start off fresh. Let me know how it turns out. I'll help with installing xposed later as well, first let's get your phone running again
I successfully rooted the device and until recently I wanted to unroot the device, so I uninstalled Magisk.
However, after doing so my device rebooted into a black screen and the only response I got was a vibration when I tap the right side/edge of the screen or press the power button.
I tried pressing the Power button + Volume +/-, and was able to enter recovery and fast boot mode. However, I tried wiping cache, resetting, and formatting, my phone would still reboot into the same state.
When this problem occurred I had 30% battery and I also tried MSMDownloadTool for 6T, but my computer simply does not recognize the device. My device is only two weeks old.
Any help would be appreciated.
