Build.prop, change phone and apps to S8+? - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, would there be any way to change the build.prop file in which I have access to all of the s8 apps and Bixby? (Samsung Messages 4.2, TouchWiz 6.0, etc). I have tried to edit the build.prop file directly but I didn't know which of the lines would change my phone or break it. I have an SM-G900F running Lineage OS v14.

Nexus 4 hide navbar

Hey guys,
i tried to hide the navbar on my N4 with Stock 4.2.1 firmware.
I added to build.prop the line: "qemu.hw.mainkeys=1"
now the Nexus 4 won't boot up. I had to restore the old build.prop.
Permissions of the build.prop were set right.
Has anyone a solution for hiding the navbar?
I want to use the Pie Controls of LMT, so i don't need the navbar.
Perhaps you messed something like else up? I'm using that right now, albeit on Bionic pure AOSP. It works fine.

Click to collapse
I added the same line to build.prop with root explorer and use Button Savior without any difficulty. Try again-you must have done something wrong. Maybe you didn't put the new text on a separate line at the end. Make sure you do not use the quote marks. Root explorer renamed the original file and saved it for me. Another thing you can do is use custom roms that have an option to remove the soft keys.
okay I found out what the problem was.
I didn't update Root Explorer and the Version 2.14.<something> messed my build.prop up, everytime i saved it.
With the newest Version of Root Explorer it works fine.
Thank you for your help.

Changing DPI does not work; please help

Hey Guys,
I have an S7 Edge and was always able to change the DPI via any common method.
For some weeks it´s somehow not possible. I tried while on various ROMs.
I tried via editing Build.prop, Android Terminal App, DPI Changing Apps and via Terminal on Mac and Windows.
It just doesnt work....
I noticed that being on BobCat ROM it works.... But with no other ROM. I tried them all on XDA.
Does anybody have an idea why and/or how to fix this?
I appreciate every reply.
You need to have root acces and use a file manager (I use Solid Explorer), open build.prop with the Solid Explorer built in editor (SE Text editor) and find and change the following line:
ro.sf.lcd_density=560
(560 is the best value that you can apply, anything bellow that dpi messes up the touchwiz apps).
Save the file and presto!!!
I hope this can help.
Best regards!!!
Not working. Build.prop shows the new value but no visual change is seen
Did you restart your device?

Can I chage system emojis without root in EMUI 5.0.1?

I have seen one thread about this, but all files and resourses have been deleted since then. I Just need to change system emojis to some other type of emojis.
I have already unlocked font selection through ADB and tested just different emojis.

S8 955F cannot edit build.prop

Whenever I try to edit my build.prop, I get an instant reboot.
Anyone can give me a hint why?
Spartaxx ROM, latest magisk.
I can edit system, just not this file, be it in an text editor or an app dedicated to this task.
