I want to change the build.prop on my Galaxy Tab 10.1 to read as a Motorola Xoom, but everytime I try and change it in Root Explorer, it always reverts back even when I save it. I am changing R/O to R/W too. Can someone help?
Hi, first time poster here. I can usually find what I need, but I'm stumped here.
I'm running a rooted Galaxy S4 on ATT with the i337ucuamf3 build.
I've successfully installed viper4android, but it only works on and off, with Google Music.
I'm pretty sure the fix for this is to change the build.prop lines: Ipa.decode, tunnel.decode and Ipa.use-stagefright.
I've tried everything that I can think of, but I no matter how I make the changes, they will not save. I've tried mounting System R/W in Rom Toolbox, and booting into System R/W. I've made the changes with Rom Toolbox Pro and ES File Manager. Nothing works.
Can anybody tell me if I just can't make these changes to build.prop because of the build I'm running?
Please, any help would be appreciated. When viper does work, it's incredible!
Thanks.

Hello,
I was trying to edit the build prop file using the ES Explorer, but the same happened to me, I could edit the file by downloading the "build prop editor" from play store.
Edit the file by pressing the button in shape of a pencil and later press the save button. If you only search for the line you want to edit in the main screen of the app you will be able to modify the line but the changes are not saved.
Thanks/rate

Never mind.
ES File doesn't always save, you'll just have to try a different app. Root explorer should work or fx file manager.

I figured this out ... Go to more networks ...do search for netwoks ...when it finds networks do a select automaticly .. Dont choose your network ..For some reason it selects gsm/umts if you select it yourself
Im rooted using a i9505 rom using an ATT branded GS4 unlocked using tmobile Sim LOL
hi iam nikhil
i have not seen persist.radio.lteon.xml file in rootbrowser in samsung s4 i9500what should i do
After you have rooted the device completely, go to Google Play and install 'ES file explorer'. Open the app, and press the menu key on the device and you will get a panel to your left on the screen. Scroll down and enable Rootexplorer (you will ask to grant permission by the SuperSU app since you have rooted, so give permission). Now use the search function and find the file with this EXACT name 'persist.radio.lteon' and delete it. Please make sure you are deleting this exact file. Don't delete anything else and end up bricking your device. After deleting restart the phone and that's it! You will have the LTE/WCDMA/GSM option in the network mode once you are booted and you will receive 4G signals if you are in an area with LTE coverage.

Get another device. The I9500 does not have LTE, and before you ask, you cannot enable it because the hardware is not present.
@chashmaa: Your advice works only if the device has a LTE radio. The I9500 nikhil has doesn't.
My post for busylittlebee(post 1).
@chashmaa: Why would you reply to a post that's nearly two years old? Besides, based upon the time stamps, it appeared you were replying to @nikhil.73.
Big sorry.
OK sir thank u

I don't know what ROM your on but here's the list of things you can change:
In build prop, make the following changes
- to.product.locale.region= your region (eg US)
- to.build.target_operator= your carrier (eg vzw, att_us)
- ro.telephony.default_network= change from 9 to 11 or 13 if 11 doesn't work
Open hidden menu *#*#4636#*#*
- phone information
- select lte/gsm/cdma preferred
Hello!
So i just tried this method, but nothing really happens. When i change the ro.telephony.default_network to 11 and reboot the phone, it goes back to 9.
So what i've tried:
1. Edit the file on the phone with ES File Manager app -> for some reason it doesn't lets me to add bigger number than 9, and when i add something like 8, it says that i'm not able to rewrite the file.
2. Build.prop editor App from googleplaystore -> I can edit that to 11 or 13, i gave the root perm for the app to edit. After it's edited, the build.prop file is edited too, but after a restart ro.telephony.default_network goes back to 9.
3. Edit the file on PC and rewrite. -> I can rewrite the file, but after the restart it goes back to 9
Can you please give me some advices?
I have tried all of these. None could make it permenent. Build prop is saved but everytime I reboot I have to select preferred network to LTE again. Im on optimusflex rom now. And I have tried it on most of other custom roms too. None could make it.

Try changing ro.build.target_country= from com to EU.
Its really annoying, I used to get this problem too. The networks are hardcoded into each regions rom. If you still can't get it, this might make your life easier https://play.google.com/store/apps/...oggle&pcampaignid=APPU_kW7kU8nUDYbtoASNlYKQBA
So you can easily switch it back after booting
My edge plus has decided it wont allow me to text the majority of contacts i have saved, the error is invalid recipient, unable to add the recipient. The recipients number is invalid,
the numbers are all fine and even if i add my own number it tells me the same error, it is still receiving texts and will send to a couple out of the few hundred contacts i have, the message centre number is correct in the settings.
Any ideas, its a rooted deodexed rom with arter97 v8 kernel if that makes any difference?
thanks.

You use Wanam Xposed?
I did use wanam exposed but uninstalled it, its weird that hangouts works fine with same contacts. What option in wanam could have caused it so i can try and sort it. Cheers.
I also have the same problem

The wanam has some weird problem that causes this bug ... Even after uninstalling wanan the bug remains, because it changes the feature.xml file.
To fix this use a root explorer, I used ES File Explorer.
1 - Browse and open the file feature.xml
2 - In line <CscFeature_Message_MaxRecipientLenghtAs>10< change the value from 10 to 99
3 - Save and reboot

i actually have the same problem although my phone is not rooted. I wonder how I can fix this.
Help plz
For years android user. I have encountered with the same problem for the first time. I've newly upgraded to lollipop 5.1.1 from 5.0.1 note 4 910c . Using xposed and rooted. Installed talexop_Kernel_N910C_5.1.1_C0I4_v1.05 kernel.
I tried to do what a friend had suggested in the upper page. Found the file with es file explorer but couldn't find the line.
I know the problem is kernel or xposed or root.
I thing I used without any problem default message app for a day. But now the same problem as mentioned above.
Waiting à working solution.
Thanks.

I found out something new. Here in my country the phone number format is like this 0543 455 4455. If I remove 0 from the beginning of any number and save it to the contacts the message can be sent. Otherwise not. But without 0, numbers are invalid here. What does this show? Any idea?

It helped with 50 as a value, Anyhow Wanam Xposed Lollipop in Note5 has numerous weird behavior, from collapsing after toggle to lost root access.

You can find the file in this directory : "system/csc/feature.xml"
1) go to this directory with a root browser: "system/csc/"
2) open the "feature.xml" file with a text editor
3) scroll down to find the option called "CscFeature_Message_MaxRecipientLenghtAs" which equals to "10"
4) change the number "10" with number "90"
5) save the file and reboot your phone.
Voilaaaaa. You can send SMS now.
