DriveDroid & Resurrection Remix? - OnePlus 5 Questions & Answers

Being able to use DriveDroid would be great cause I wouldn't have to carry around a USB drive with an ISO burned to it. I use Resurrection Remix Unofficial as my daily ROM. As of the current update, it uses Lightning kernel V9. I was wondering if there was another kernel compatible with RR that also has DriveDroid support at the moment.

Does Remix OS for tablet have kernel supporting USB OTG and charging simultaneously?

I have Chuwi Vi8 that dualboot Windows (8.1 & 10) and Android.
I have OTG hub that can charge and use OTG simultaneously that work with windows. But not working on Android.
I read that this is because Android kernel does not support this simultaneus charging action.
My question, since Remix OS has it owns kernel. Does Remix OS kernel support this OTG and charging at the same time?
If it is, might be fun to install Remix OS in my tablet. Or did I misunderstood kernel? Perhaps kernel is something unique in each tablet?
TIA
this forum is for ultratablet users. that is jide hardware with native remix os.

Stable Rom: CM 13, CM 14.1 vs LineageOS

I currently have stock ROM with TWRP recovery. I would like some more features and used CM 12.1 on other phone. Is CM 13 stable on this phone? I don't understand what it means by "unofficial"? Is CM 14.1 or LineageOS more stable? I am looking for as few bugs as possible.
Cm13 is discontinued! And there is no more cm, it's lineage hereafter! So try flashing RR or lineage!

CM 13.1 is unfortunately discontinued.
Lineage OS is basically CM 14.1 with the name change plus additional new commits added from the original CM team.
'UNOFFICIAL' means it's not compilee by the original team but voluntarily by a separate individual/team. These MAY have bugs but purely depends on the dev team working on it. Any bugs can only be reported to the dev (if he's willing to provide support) and not to the original team.
For stability, in my order - first being most stable (as per my usage)
1. Resurrection Remix Nougat (minor cosmetic bugs that's it and literally the most customisable ROM right now + best battery life)
2. Lineage OMS - by Silesh.Nair (none encountered so far and has all implemented LOS features + minor useful additions+ full Substratum OMS support+great battery life)
3. AOSCP/AOSP- Extended - Very stable, Not a LOT of features (yet) and has really good developers actively improving it.
The rest are quite buggy in my opinion (only comparitively - but overall they are really nice)

Viper4Android on Nougat

Hi..! Does anybody know how to install V4A on RR N? I flashed ViPER4Android_2.5.0.5_guitardedhero.zip via TWRP but that didn't make the trick... Any advice or solution?
What kind of ROM are you running? TouchWiz s7 or note 7 or AOSP?
Edit: if it's nougat it's probably AOSP, is it lineage or something different?
Do you have the viper app on your phone?
I tried with resurrection Remix but now I'm onCosmicOS. An AOSP based. And yes I have installed V4A and BusyBox as well. On Resurrection REmix I got an I/O error. Now on CosmicOS the driver always fail to install.

Should Phoenix OS devs add Remix OS kernel?

Hello, noob here.
(I don't know anything about porting kernels and stuff, but, that is just a suggestion).
I found both OTO (OpenThOs) and Remix OS kernel on cwhuang's page.
Both OSes are based on Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow).
Openthos and Remix OS kernel were based on Linux kernel 4.4, which is old, but all hardware (except Mic) was working.
Mouse was recognized in Remix OS inside Minecraft.
But Phoenix has kernel 4.14!
And mouse isn't recognized in Minecraft?
Should the Phoenix OS devs add Remix OS kernel?
Should they add Linux apps support from Openthos? That will be awesome!
What do you think?

Suggestion: Use CrDroid and Battery Saving Mode (in Settings), Install Magisk With Gsm Doze (if installing gapps), and some battery-saving magisk modules. if you use MicroG (This is The MicroG, I'm using Standard Version) it will feel lighter and faster. in my opinion ROM CrDroid is the best Android os for this model, because the performance is much faster, the battery is quite durable, uses android 10, supports applications, and some permissions are more than using android 7, and I have also compared with Multiple ROMs, and CrDroid has the features I need
