Hey guys. I purchased a samsung galaxy s8 off craigslist. The Imei number is clean and clear, Ive checked on several websites BUT the sites can not detect WHICH device it is. However, when I throw in my tmobile sim card the internet is very slow or does not work at all, and the calls barely go in/out. It Displays 4g LTE but then it disappears sporadically. Do i have an international version? Any thoughts or consultation would be really appreciated.
P.S.the IMEI on the box and phone do not match, but I rang it in to Tmobile and it is clean and clear.
Please help guys much appreciated
Thanks

Hello folks,
A while back, I managed to get AT&T to block network data on my mobile line.
Shortly thereafter, I purchased an unlocked HTC Touch in Europe and experienced no problems receiving/making calls in the U.S. Inserting my AT&T SIM was plug-and-play, for lack of better words.
During a recent trip to Europe, I purchased a Samsung Galaxy S4. After inserting my AT&T SIM, I can not receive/make any calls.
I have bars, get a Voice Mail notification, as well as a 'Not registered to network' message. I am also unable to register to the AT&T networks the phone searches and finds...
Any feedback will be greatly appreciated!
apn settings would not stop registration.. maybe the phone was a black listed imei that went to europe and you bought it and are trying to use it here.
what is the model number.

you got screwed dude. the phone has bad esn and they blocked the phone already. sorry to hear
Isn't this the "region Locking" that Samsung has been getting flack for lately? If you buy a phone in EU, you have to register it in EU with an EU SIM (Any EU SIM if it an unlocked phone) initially. After that, I think you can then use ATT SIM if the phone is unlocked. It doesn't always work though and people are mad
I am assuming you bought an unlocked phone in EU
Google "SAMSUNG Region lock"
Could be the radio IC blown. That's what happened to my phone, which has a perfectly-fine IMEI (not blacklisted).
See this thread. I'm about to get my phone back from the factory today.
Hey guys,
Wasn't sure where to post this, so I just put it here.
I was gifted a fake Galaxy S4 (a 1:1 copy) for Christmas. I was overseas so I could not test whether the SIM card worked. Upon return to Hong Kong where I live, I put my SIM card (my provider is 3 HK) , originally from my (real) Samsung S3 LTE into the fake S4. I managed to get a signal, and I was able to call someone, but my 3G internet does not work. I have tried toggling the GSM and WCDMA settings, and setting different APNs, but to no avail. Anyone know why this could be happening?
I also experienced a similar thing like this when I put the same sim card into an iPhone 4, where I could only call, but not use the internet. Something is telling me it may be that because I use LTE 4G on my SGS3, and because the fake phone does not support 4G it does not work.
I hope someone has had similar issues and is able to find a workaround. My fake S4 is rooted with CWM recovery and has a MTK MT 6589 processor.
Thanks

You dont need post it more times. With one is enough. XDA dont support fake clone phones
Hi.
I have m919 T-Mobile Galaxy s4 but I'm with other carrier (Wind Canada).
I spent yesterday in environment where I didn't had coverage for most of the day, but i haven't gotten it back yet. Sounds really weird as it might be not connected to the fact at all. I have 4G connection active, which means that I have internet, but it keeps 'searching' for service and I can't Call/Text anyone, neither I can receive calls or texts. Instead of the bar at the top showing how good coverage i have it just shows a crossed out circle icon.
I've tried reboots, keeping my phone off for 30mins without battery, taking out sim and putting it back in, changing network modes and resetting APN (all from settings panel).
Have anyone experienced something like that and how do I fix it? It was working perfectly for last couple of months and the phone didn't get any damage yesterday neither.
Well. "I have m919 T-Mobile Galaxy s4 but I'm with other carrier (Wind Canada)". Im not the smartest person in the world but if u phone is locked to T-Mobile, it doesnt gonna work with other carrier if no is unlocked by IMEI for example.
I just bought a factory unlocked Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, it has the dual sim slots and is the SM-G9350 model. Now, the person who sold it to me said it works on Verizon, and everywhere I search it says it should be compatible. But when I put my Verizon SIM card in, which is already activated, it isn't saying I have service. It recognizes there is a SIM and that it is Verizon, but it says like cellular network unavailable. Am I doing something wrong? I've never bought a factory unlocked phone, I know nothing about it, like where is it from? How does it work? It doesn't even have samsung keyboard or anything. Please help!!!
Did you search the IMEI to see if the phone is lost/stolen? I bought a S7 Edge and the same thing happened to me... I called the network (Telus) and they informed me that it was a reported phone so I can't use it. Kicker is that they can't even contact the original owner! So I had to root it and installed Xposed, now I'm stuck on how to unlock the network or change the IMEI

I did, the imei isn't coming up anywhere because the phone is from Hong Kong or something. But the seller had it activated with tracfone.
Hello all!
I bought the Samsung S7 phone in unlocked condition from eBay in US. Then I had to move to India for work related purposes and I was able to use the phone using an Indian sim. The phone developed charging issues and it was not charging. So I had to send it to US where Samsung changed the motherboard. Now, I received the phone which is working but it shows invalid sim if I put any Indian sim. It seems Samsung have restored the phone to original settings which is locked to Sprint network. Samsung tells me to contact Sprint. While Sprint says that they need the account details or confirmation from the person who bought the phone from Sprint. The eBay account from which I got the phone does not exist anymore.
I think I need to unlock the phone so that I can use other sim in India. Could anyone suggest what could be done here?
Thanks!
