recently i read a post on lineage os thread that the developer "Olivier" had has stop development of z3+ 'cause it is no longer his daily driver... and lineage.com does not had the z3+ on his official devices's list. so my question is:
is this the end of development for the z3+?
do we had any chance to get android oreo for this terminal?
thanks in advance for your comments.
sorry for my bad english. xD

I consider it a blessing that we've gotten what we have for this POS. If it weren't for Kuro the Bang and then Olivier, I'm afraid my Z4 would have already suffered a high speed impact with the floor, or wall, or an 18-wheeler in an oncoming lane of traffic(but not nearly as glorious as Jax Teller's exit).
This phone deserves no fanfare, no memorial and no remembrance (Sony will definitely agree with me on that).
I've fantasized about packing it with C-4 and sending it back to Sony (for the record, fantasies should remain just that - fantasies and not realities). I'm stubborn, I usually keep a phone 3 years. So hopefully some time in 2018 I'll replace this one and then use it for target practice.

greaat, we need buy another phone! mine will be motorola C115 )
This phone should had never existed, awful battery SOT, heats like hell, non advantages over other similar phones, crappy camera also speakers.
We got ripped off by Sony on this one

No. I said development has become easier because the Z3+ is no longer my daily driver - I can now test/flash highly experimental builds anytime.

No - I just came back from vacation and will soon enable the Lineage 14.1 nightlies. Don't worry, I'm going to work on Lineage 15.0 (Android 8.0) as well.

I would really love to have Omni on my OnePlus One. Any chance of xplodwild getting/wanting a device? I imagine the Omni team has had the opportunity to get the device but in the off chance that they haven't, I have an invite for the sake of development.

I already let an invite lapse. OnePlus has been lying and spouting bull**** for way too long, I'm not sending them my money and I'm not really motivated to spend any time on them either. I MIGHT update my hackpatch this weekend to support the possibility of doing a blind build. Most of the rest of the Omni team feel the same way at this point.
Graffixnyc did a few builds for find7op with my hackpatch but I think he sold his device.
The good news is that the find7op is 95%+ identical to the find7a, so it's not TOO hard for someone who knows what they're doing and actually wants to bother with it to support the find7op. Problem has been lack of people who both know what they're doing and want to screw around with OnePlus these days. If it weren't for this commonality (which OnePlus consistently lies about on a regular basis...) the find7op would probably be dead in the water with Omni.
There's some dude who is interesting in taking a crack at being maintainer, but he's on a long vacation (lucky Europeans!) until September.
Although this post is old I just wanted to say that I'd like to try omnirom but if it was official I'd feel better than some dude test and try(blindly)
We have the phone, ok 1+1 lies a lot* but now it's a bit late I think + I couldn't stay with my DHD any longer ...so much lag answering simple calls I was forced to move
*They promised us lolipop with CM12s and OxygenOS(official vanilla rom) in fed 12, now it's in march for no reason who knows if these roms are ready by march
CM was suppose to deliver first in late of jan, then first days of feb, then 12th of feb now march ...they seem to be scrwng with us in regular bases
I'll take a crack at this, I happen to like blind-builds and have a lot of experience with doing things this way; my resume is in my sig
Edit: I'll go for a source-built but if I'm unable to do this I can surely fork it onto your stock ROM

OnePlus is find7op as far as Omni goes
We had nightlies for it with 4.4 and it'll get brought back with 5.0 - we're just behind schedule for 5.0 across the board for a variety of reasons. Starting this week I should have more time for Omni and one of the other core team should be getting more free time in the next few weeks, so we'll hopefully get caught up soon.

Latest news says that CM12s is almost done!
It is pretty stable and is in latest testing stage.
This is confirmed by CyanogenMod Inc.
What do you think guys when it will come to us ?
Maybe early next month. But I hope that it is better then cm11s, that system sucks.
Source? I really doubt there will be a CM12S.
Opo have moved away from CM and decided to build their own ROM, called Oxygen OS.

We are getting CM12S. Steve Kondik has confirmed multiple times that we're getting CM12S. OPO built Oxygen for the Indian market, it has nothing to do with moving away from CM, they also built their own ROM for people to use months before the whole OnePlus/CM/Micromax drama. Maybe stay up to date with information surrounding the device before commenting in that nature.

No.if they update , then one plus will not earn money..
V might get cm14 ... at least unofficially
I think we could all agree on the point that the OnePlus One will get the official CM nightlies. If Cyanogen Inc. is going to update the OPO depends on the user base. (Source: COS 13 thread OP Forums..) Steve Kondik said, with a reason, that they totally rebased the OnePlus One with the COS 13 update, a part of the reason why they did that is that it would make faster OS updates in the future possible.
I believe in the CyanogenMod guys, I think that officially we'll never see Android 7 on the phone, but unofficially I'm pretty confident.
It is evident that Cyanogen Inc is pushing Microsoft mods pretty dramatically to OPO with at least the latest COS 13.1 update.
They will definitely use this phone for the large user base to check for the usage pattern, and other statistics for creating a better baseline and user experience for MOD going forward. And obviously, Microsoft also has an interest in having more people use their "integrated" apps and OPO is very good device for that.
So my opinion is a STRONG YES, Cyanogen Inc WILL update to Android N, but again, 3 months after the first release.

Since the dev scene for OPO is still pretty active ( one example: 3.10 kernel) i'm pretty sure we'll get android 7.0 via unofficial cm14

Usually cyanogen stops support after 2 years, just like Google does. OPO could be an exception, both because the snapdragon 801 is still a pretty popular processor and because the phone itself is still rocking. but nothing is sure on this side.

If we're taking a look at the contract for the updates, then the official support ended at the end of May. But as Steve Kondik said, they'll be updating the OPO to Android N if the userbase is large enough (COS). And the official CM Nightlies will continue even a few years after the official support ends. So one way or another, we'll be seeing Android N on the OPO.

It's not really true that Google stops supporting their phones after 2 years actually. Google keeps updating the device if the hardware is still good enough for it. That's one of the reasons the Nexus 5 still receives security patches, just like the Nexus 7 (2013).

I'm preaty sure we will get the Official update from Cyanogen Inc!
If you look at Cyanogen Inc official page, our phone IS THE ONLY PHONE currently running their latest OS (COS13.1).
The Oneplus One was the first well known Cyanogen Phone, and they wont abandon it's first child.
I think we will be updated until google stops supporting its Nexus 6 (SD 805), because it was the last nexus with a 32 bit CPU and Android will soon abandon the 32 bit architecture complitly (my opinion).
Untill then we are safe.
I expect to see Nougat custom ROMs very quickly, eventually, CM14 nightlies, but I expect that there will never be an official Nougat update for the OnePlus One.
Does this apply to other phones having the SD 801 too? I'm planning to buy the Zuk Z1 which has a SD 801. If the OPO receives CM14, is there a possibility of the Zuk Z1 receiving CM14 too?
Even if OPO doesn't get official update, the fan base of this phone and the impact it did to both 1+ and Cyanogen, I think we will still find a way to get nice and crisp Nougat experience. But who knows. Time will tell

There will almost certainly be development in the future, but considering the sources just came out today, it will a while before anything useable comes out.
I wouldn't expect jack from asus, it all depends on intel porting N to x86
If they do there is the possibility of CM14.........as long as cyanogen doesn't drops official support for the ZF2
In that case, game over

Yeah Asus is gonna announce they're halting android 6 development to give us the new and improved os: Nougat. Estimated release date October 32th 2018 to be postponed to July 45th 2019 couse of unspecified issues. Stay tuned.
Seriously, seeing as things are going I wouldn't bet a thing on Asus working on n for this device.
Sent from my ASUS_Z008D
I wouldn't think it likely. Thus far, we have official ASUS statements on getting 6.0 on the device followed by a considerable period of support with security updates.
Seeing that Intel has basically exited the mobile phone market, ceasing development on any further chips to compete with arm and actually opening up their own fabrication facilities to other manufacturers to make their chips in, and that it has taken this long to get the sources for 6 in a usable state on x86 at all, you could say that we are most likely not getting it. Add to that the new Zenfone devices on the cusp of coming out, unless ASUS pulls one hell of a magic trick, 6.0 is where we will have our devices left at officially.
