All of the sudden, when I get an incoming call and answer it, the speaker phone is active. I than have to go and turn it off to get the phone to transfer to the ear piece.
How can I stop this and have the phone answer to the ear piece by default again?
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Never mind. I found the problem. I just installed the beta of phoneAlarm (1.4b2) and there is an option to have the speaker phone active for incoming calls. It was set to nothing, which must be equal to on, because if I set it to off my problem is solved.
Thanks anyway.
Hi,
I have a problem with incoming calls, it happened 3 times already. A call is incoming, phone rings, I answer it.
I hear a second or two of the other person's voice, then I hear constant buzzing sound (or no sound at all). When I try to disconnect, the phone app goes off like it was disconnected, but the top bar icon "in a call" is still there. Then I can't make another call, disconnect this one etc. If I want to call that person back, I have to soft reset the device.
Did anyone of you encounter such a thing?
Hi there everyone.
I am a new user of an HTC Hero.
I have a problem on incoming calls or sms.
I leave the HTC to lock by itself and, when i have an incoming call or sms, only the screen turns on. I can see the number of the dialer who is calling me on the screen but NO ringtone sounds from the phone. The same problem occurs when an sms is received. No ring is sounded by the phone.
I have checked everything concerning the sound preferences and (i believe) that i have not left anything un-touched.
Can anyone please "save" me from madness???
Thanks in advance!
I can't say for sure this is what happened, but humor me for a second and check a few things:
Of course double check that your volume is all the way up.
When you use the volume rocker on the side of the phone, does it beep?
Do you have any music on it? If so, play it without the headphones plugged in. Do you hear the music?
When you turn speakerphone on during a call, do you hear the other person?
Do you hear any of these sounds using headphones? Do you hear people through the earpiece on a call?
If you don't hear any sound from any of the first few bullets, but you do hear things through the headphones and earpiece, it may be the speaker in the back that's broken. Again, this is just one possible cause, but I had it happen to me. I have no idea how to fix it other than to send it back to HTC or attempt to replace it yourself (I don't know how to do this and would not recommend it if you're not comfortable with it!). Thankfully, my phone fixed itself after a few days (well, with a little help, I accidentally dropped it on the floor from a height of about four feet, but again, I wouldn't recommend that!). Anyway, just a thought, hope it at least helps you diagnose the problem.
I am having a problem on my S4 that I had on my S3. I am stock rooted on MF9. It happens when I am on a call and receive a text message during the call. It also sometimes happens when I am on a call and receive a call (call waiting) and do not answer it. After I receive the text or missed call waiting call I can continue the call that I am on. However, when I hang up 2 things happen. First my notification volume goes down to almost 0. I do not hear any notifications such as texts, etc (at about 5% volume even turned up all the way). When I try to make my next call my speaker (earpiece) stops working completely. I hear the beep from it that the call connected and the timer starts but I can not hear anything on the other end. This was a big problem on my S3 and now it just started happening on my S4. I am using handcent for my texts. In handcent I tried turning the alert on and off while on a call. I have to reset my phone several times a day as this is the only thing that fixes this issue. Can someone please help me figure out what is wrong?

I have solved the issue. It is being caused by an old app that I had installed called call waiting configurations 1.9.9. This app was messing up the sounds on my S3 and S4 so if you have it DELETE IT.
I recently had this problem where the call automatically Turned-On Speaker during the call.
The screen wasn't lit, so any Speaker button pressing is not possible too.
Again this happened while on a WhatsApp call.
What would be the solution for this?
I am also facing this issue, quite a lot lately. It would be great if someone can suggest a solution or atleast the root cause.
WhatsApp is a 3rd party app, so I would suggest to look in that app's settings to see if something is there that can be turned on/off or go to play store and write a review + send email to the dev of the app.
