Nexus Player Remote light glowing constantly - Nexus Player Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi! I have a launch Nexus Player and haven't had many issues with the remote until today. The light is constantly glowing dimly and I can't get it to connect to anything. Upon watching it over 10 minutes, it seems like the remote' s light it pulsing on and off but veeeeeeeeerrrrrrrry slowly.
I don't know what to do, and I can't find any Google search results or documentation that could provide a solution.
Update: it did the pulse once (took about 7 ish minutes) and hasn't done it again. I took out the batteries, tried different ones, and still hasn't done it again.

[Q] Nook Touch doesn't wake up

Hi booard,
I've a problem with my STR. I let it untouched for a little while (like 2 weeks) and I guess the battery emptied, as I was unable to wake it up.
I've plugged it the whole day but there is still no sign of life. I pressed the power button for 30s (which I think should be the reset to factory button) but still no luck.
Any advice? (As I live in France brigging it back to the store is not an option )
Thx in advance!
Anyone?
First sign of life : the charging LED switches from green to orange and now seems more on the orange side.
Maybe a bad electrical contact?
Ok. I encountered a similar problem, which I think was a result of me running too many apps simultaneously in the background draining too much of my battery. I tried different methods of turning it back on but unsuccessfully. I was playing around with. I tried plugging and unplugging the USB cable hooked to the computer USB port at various times, while trying to turn the device on. One time the led light would only stay green. Other time the screen changed color to some kind of weird shade of gray. I was charging it for over 3 hours without any luck of turning it back on.
Eventually I got an idea where I used the fact that the electric plugs in my country are 230V instead of 110V typical for the US. The whole idea was hooking my nook up to this extra power without using reduction, knowing the risk of burning the nook of course. So I was charging it for like 30 minutes plugged to 230V, it was still telling me to wait for it to boot up on it's own after 15 minutes, however I tried to turn it on again and voila the damn thing booted up.

Nexus 4 Red Light Blinking but with a Catch?

Hi guys,
Before anyone says anything, I have already searched google/xda for this issue and found the common fix for the red light issue which involves opening up the phone.
However, before I go about performing an open heart surgery on my phone I just want to confirm that it is the same issue and hence I have made this thread.
So here's the story:
Last night my phone gave me the 15% warning but I was too damn sleepy to plug in my phone so I just slept. Next morning I wake up and plug it in only to find the blinking red light. I left it in for an hour and removed it to find it incredibly warmer than normal and of course, it still was not coming on.
So I unplugged it and replugged it into the charger. This time the red light blinked twice and then the white battery sign came up. Only difference is that now a fully charged white battery sign keeps blinking (no red light anymore). When I try to turn it on it reaches the Google Logo before shutting down again.
Would like advice on if I should go about opening up my phone (I prefer not to obviously) or just charge it for 8 or so hours before taking any further action.
Thanks in Advance
EDIT:
I used http://forums.androidcentral.com/google-nexus-4/312151-solved-nexus-4-wont-turn-charge.html and was able to boot into bootloader mode however, it still doesn't go past the google logo when I select the 'Start' option.
EDIT 2:
Revived phone using above. Close thread.

[Q] How to access to a damaged device

A month ago my devices got violently hitten agains the floor by my ex-wife
I have REALLY REALLY important information there, so i wanted to acess data or turn it on using an external screen.
After that i remember the screen was turned of but when i unlock the device it makes a sound, and i felt the vibrations of the unlock pattern, so i Thought screen was broken but devices was working fine.
I bought a nexus 4 hdmi cable yesterday, and plug in to the tv, first i test with my nexus 5 and it works fine.
I plug the nexus 4 (which should be without battery because was unplugged for a month) and the led start to blink red. As when is charging with low battery. After a couple of minutes it stop blinking and I tried to turn it on pressing the power button while connected to the TV. Nothing happend,
I left it charge a little bit more, after a couple hours I tried again, nothing happen. Device is like dead.
I pluged in to my computer. nothing happend, try with fastbook devices and adb list, nothing appear.
I really need to access my devices I dont care if is using a TV.
What ideas you can provide to me? is a good idae to disable the device and completely unplug the screen? is there any way to access data without turning on the device? any other option?
My device was rooted. Screen doesnt shows anything.
If it as been smashed around then it could be that the device is well and truly dead, in which case there is little hope, but what I would say is that you could have the better issue that some people get if the phone is discharged too far.
This is a work around for it, but it is rather intrusive, but so some searching for nexus 4 red light battery issues and you may find some easier solutions.

[Q] Blinking red led, no boot when plugged in

Hi all,
My Nexus 4 just shut down after going really hot. I cannot turn it on anymore, when I press the On/Off button with our without the volume buttons nothing happens, except if it is plugged in.
In that case, after about 15 sec I have a blinking red led.
I think the problem is material, but I don't know if the problem comes from the battery or something else. I don't want to buy a new battery if my Nexus 4 is dead... So I am trying to figure out if the problem is about the battery or not. I think not because even when plugged in, nothing shows on the screen when I try to turn it on.
What do you think ?
Thanks very much for your help,
Guillaume.

When you get the blinking red led while on the charger, how many time does it flashes ?
Is it the same as this:
"
By red flashing light, I mean: Hold power for 12 secs with good charger connected gives flashing red light: one short, pause circa 2 sec, 11 flashes at one per sec, pause under 1/4 sec, one short dim flash, pause c. 2 sec, repeat. This is the notification LED directly above the USB socket.

Hi cxda48,
I have the exact same behaviour : 11 flashes, a short pause followed with one short flash, then repeat.
You have an idea of what it means ?
Thanks !
I had a similar problem. The phone will not start and when you put the red light blinking loaded several times. My Solving: I opened the phone and pulled the battery pins. I connected the battery and the phone started normally.

*similar* but not the same I guess.
It seems like the IC that turns on and off the LED is the PMIC ("Power Management Integrated Circuit"). When something goes wrong, this IC has got some intelligence to give out some information about what is wrong (a bit like the bios on a PC). So 11 red LED flashes is an error code I guess. When the battery is disconnected it's 1 red LED flash (that error code probably means battery not present/worng) in my experience.
I know at least that with the 11 flashes issue, changing / reconnecting a charged battery does not solve this issue
Would anyone have information about what these codes mean ?
this just happened to me. Any solutions?

I thought I should give some feedback on how I sorted out this problem:
After discussion with google after-sales, I sent it for repair to the official LG repair contractor in the UK (SBE Ltd, based in Ashford, UK).
I precisely chose to go through LG repair rather than google because google warned me they would replace the nexus4 so I would
1) loose my data
2) get a potentially worse phone(refurbished) than mine (which is really mint with outstanding battery life)
I sent the phone with instructions on what I think needed done : replacement of the PMIC and *not* a swap of motherboard. When the nexus4 was back, I noticed they ignored my message & swapped the motherboard .
They kept my housing but they also swapped the battery(was not required) and now the battery life is very poor ! I am still in communication with LG regarding the battery issue

Nexus 4 not switching on. Very dim green led. Battery is new.

Hi,
I've been using a Nexus 4 since 3.5 years and suddenly one day the phone started to misbehave. It started showing the charging sign without being connected to the charger and the next day it wasn't charging above 20%.
It isn't switching on now.
When I connect it with the charger, for a few seconds a very dim green led blinks and then goes off.
Sometimes the charging sign does show up but within a few minutes it goes off.
Once or twice I don't know how I reached the boot screen and came across the 'Android is optimizing' thing but the phone again switched off around optimizing app 150 of 173.
I purchased a new original battery from the LG service center but it also didn't help.
The reply I got from the service center was that they're unable to understand the issue with my phone.
Also,
I've noticed that the green led brightens up when I press the cable too hard but then automatically goes off or dims.
Please help me with this issue.
Thanks in advance.
