How to revive dead Moto X Play - X Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there any way to revive a dead moto x play as my device not detecting both sim cards and sdcard together but it reads sim card from slot 1 sometimes so I ask a mobile repairer to repair it he said that he can solve the problem but its motherboard problem and there's no guarantee that it can be solved and also there's a condition to see on it that if he get no success then my moto x play will be dead. He also said he got success with two moto x play for the same problem. So I want to know is there any way to revive it after that I will give it to him for repairing.
Please help!!! Can anyone help me with this?

[Q] Reboot every 5-10 minutes

Hello dear droid pro users, i bought a droid pro from ebay and just received it yesturday (Live in Kazakhstan, central asia). The phone i received reboots every 5-15 minutes with no particular reason. Here's what i tried to do, non of it helped:
1) Factory reset the phone from the phone settings - did not help
2) Hard reset by holding R and M button and swithching the phone on, then going to a reset and erase cache procedure - did not help
3) Updated the software through internet connecting the phone - did not help
3) Swithing between global mode/GSM/CDMA modes - did not help
4) Unmountind SD card and working without SD (maybe SD card was bricked) - did not help
5) Unmounted SIM card and used without network (thought it was conection issue) - did not help
6) Tacked off the battery for 1 hour - did not help
7) Did all procedures step by step done in followind post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=923552 - did not help

Try to flash the original firmware using RSD Lite

I think the initial run of phones was so-so quality wise. I have a reboot problem as well that seems to be linked to either the GPS subsystem and/or the charging subsystem.
Probably call Verizon at some point and ask for a warranty exchange.
One interesting point is that it does not rebbot when it's charging. Could a battery replacement solve this problem? Or it's the phone's power management problem?
I doubt that in this problem to blame the battery. In any case, flashing the device does not hurt. If firmware does not help then the problem is really in the gland.
I blamed the battery too, and found this kind of rare battery from someone else and tasted it... did not help. After several fission ROM'ing and flashing with no results, it's 98% problem of the phone hardware.
i had the same problem with my motorola droid pro verizon ,what i did was i went to verizon and told them about situation they send me another device also pre owned (phone is on warranty) and replaced phone has na issues everything works just fine . no reboots , no power off, no hangs .i tried everything like mentioned i 1st post did not help. i think is a hardware difectived or phone has a virus on it ...
Well you're lucky, I don't have Verizon (Vodafone) in my country
Hello Joeystarr,
did you ever find a solution? I have the same issue here... bought on ebay. Probably some sellers thing ebay is where to sell crap. Very bad.
Is it worth spending time digging and flashing or whatever?
edit: I solved using updated rom. Now locked once a day and that's it...
Thanks!

[Q] Sim Card Error

I have literally been searching this site for hours trying to find an answer but nobody goes into much depth about this problem. My i9500 cannot detect my sim card at all. I have replaced my Sim Card Tray twice since receiving the "sim card error please restart phone" notification because it didn't seem to fix the problem the first time i replaced the tray and I wanted to be sure it wasn't a bad tra. I have tested the Sim Card in 3 other phones and it definitely works so I don't understand what else it could be. Please help me guys. I need this phone for work and I can't afford to upgrade right now.

SIM card not detected

My wife ATT S4 started to get the message that SIM card was not detected and the phone rebooted automatically after, after dealing with this for a while we took it to the store and nad the SIM card replaced, It work ok for a couple of days and started with the same issue again, we change the SIM card again with same results, so i decided to replace the SIM card holder i ordered the part and replaced it successfully and after a couple of days AGAIN start with the same issue.
The phone is out of warranty and i have no insurance on it, I have not reset the OS yet, any recommendations??
If i replace the motherboard will that fix that issue??
please any feed back will be greatly appreciated

DT2: SD card says corrupted, won't format but works in every other device...

Well, after working without an issue since february both on LP and now MM, the phone is now saying the SD card (sandisk ultra 32gb HC I class 10) is corrupted and gives a notification to fix it. So, not wanting to lose all her pictures, videos and music on the card, I pop it in my laptop to see if it can be repaired. Windows 10 detected a problem, fixed it and I thought we were good. Put back in phone, says it's corrupted. Put in every other phone I have that I can and the card works totally fine. I put back in my computer, back up the entire card and then try the format (as external storage) on the DT2 but it fails with error command '57 volume partition disk:179,64 public' failed with '400 57 Command failed' . I have googled this and haven't come up with much other than other moto phones are having the issue too as well as some threads on xda for the X force but no one has an answer.
Anyone have any idea how to correct this? I have tried all 6 SD cards I own in the phone and all do the same thing but work totally fine in other phones so I know it's not the card. I have downloaded the software upgrade and repair tool from verizon and ran the repair with didn't help. I have read that others have FDR to no avail. I have also read that some have gotten replacement phones that reacted the exact same way. I formatted on my computer both quick and full and also formatted the card in another MM phone but nothing is working! This is obviously an issue with the phone firmware/software and once it fails to format, the phone doesn't recognize any SD card put in the phone until rebooted. Once rebooted, the phone again says it's corrupted but it's not recognized at all, meaning I can't even use a 3rd party app like sandisk's own to try to format. This is so frustrating.
I have a moto x force which doesnt recognise any sd cards out of the box but because bought from ebay i have no warranty to fall back on. I suggest iff you have a warranty you should send it back because i think some of these phones were shipped with a defective sd reader good luck.
had the same problem before. I restore the default rom and all is good.

I did that too flashed the official rom again but still a no go.
I don't have the ability to clean flash the official software on the DT2. All I have is the Verizon software upgrade/repair utility which I already ran the repair. Is it likely that this is an actual hardware issue?
I have the exactly same issue.
Motorola representative asked me to take my phone do a repair service but that's not an option here because their authorized repair service says everything is water damage so they don't honor the warranty. I have this issue for months now, still waiting for an update since I belive it's software related.
I can't recommend this phone or Motorola to anyone.
It's not software related I can tell you that because I flashed cm12.1 after rooting my x force and still sd card not working.
I did an "Advanced" RMA through moto's website. Got the replacement last week and the same SD card that the other phone said was corrupted has been working fine. It's definitely hardware related. I sent my wife's phone back to moto and it should be there this Friday. If they try to tell me it's water or physical damage, I don't know what I'll do. I checked everything before I sent it back and there was no signs of water damage and only normal wear and tear for the few bumps and drops it took. No cracked screen or camera lens, there are some scratches and indentations on the shattershield top layer and some marks on the metal rim. To me, that is normal wear and tear for a phone they market as being able to withstand much more abuse than that. We'll see but again, the replacement is working fine.
Side note: I do think it's sort of BS that in order to get a warranty replacement that is how my wife designed the phone, we have to pay moto $25 to send a replacement and have a hold on a CC for $250. On top of that, it took them 4 business days to send it out. If she had just a standard black one, could have replaced direct through vzw, gotten it next day shipping and paid nothing for it and no hold on a CC.
Because I bought mine from eBay they won't honour the warranty whatsoever so I'm stuck with 30gb. Lucky I don't need more than about 20gb.

Moto G4 Plus no signal

Dropped my Moto G4 Plus inside the sink for a few seconds, tuned it off, took it to a service center, got it dried and got it to work again, couple of weeks later cellular network is not working, cant register cant find networks. Everything else works just fine.
Q: Do i need a new motherboard? Not even the people at Moto service center seem to know!!!
I have seen several Moto Gx and Moto X phones with this problem, and some never got wet or dropped...is it a common hardware fault?
STOCK ROM, never rooted.

Well, water damage and drops can cause nearly every damage to a smartphone after days/weeks. I know this from many devices, even iPhones(badly soldered audio chip on iPhone 4). It's not a general issue on g4 plus.
Does the IMEI number shows "0"?

IMEI shows OK, but ICCID is not showing, tried a new SIM and still no service.
Tried SIM with another MOTO G4 and works just fine!
Have done complete wipe factory reset and problem persists.
