Best android head unit for a scirocco with dynaudio? - Android Head-Units

Hi guys,
I'm looking to replace my RNS 510 with the dynaudio amplifier system for an android head unit.
I've heard some units are not compatible with the dynaudio amplifier so this has complicated my search!
I've also heard that some android head units just sound terrible.... I need one that sounds good, has enough speed to run Google maps and that sits flush in the dash.
Any recommendations??
Dan

Hi,
You can use the Joying model with Intel Sofia CPU and 2gb Ram. I use the same one in my Scirocco R with Dynaudio and it works like a charm.

I have the same prossible problem, I have a Tiguan 2014 with Dynaudio and no one of the Chinese head units are declared to works with this audio system (with or without DSP). I have found one user (Speed Racer) that have written:

I had my Skoda Columbus Navigation device coded via VCDS to "flat" (because I have an external DSP installed) and there is no change in sound quality after my recent change to an Joying Intel device.

So seems that the problem is there... the equalizer of the Dynaudio/RNS 510
Who knows how to modify it?

Best android unit to replace my RCD 510 in Passat B7

Hello everybody,
I'm searching for the best unit for Volkswagen Passat B7 (year 2012) to replace my RCD 510. What I am looking for:
- Android unit with 8'' - 10'' diagonal
- Dual channel Can-Bus - (the unit should display car events: door open, AC temperature settings, parking sensors information)
- VW car steering wheel control support
- DAB+
- Good bluetooth or integration with VW bluetooth module (Is this even possible?)
I've heard about Joying, Seicane and Dasaita and I'm not sure which one is better. Your advice or suggestions will be much appreciated and welcomed. Thank you.
Best Regards
I can hardly answer your question as it stated since I only tried (and use) Joying HU.
I've replaced my RNS-510 mostly because map updates in my region are not supported anymore. Had quite a hard time with Joying, but finally have no any doubts that would do it (change) again.
My HU is 8" with HW buttons, which helps alot: being able to switch to Navi/Radio/Home from any screen is a good thing. CAN bus works OK: climate indication, doors, outside temp, safety belts, fuel, mileage, park sensors, rear view cam, hand brake status, steering wheel controls do work. I did not buy DAB+ and had a hard time with AM/FM radio reception, but changing antenna harness (both were in Joying's direct supply) solved the problem.
BT app is much inferior to the VW factory unit, especially if you do outcoming calls when driving. Incoming calls are also first identified with bare numbers, not names - it corrects on the 2nd call.
I use Huawei E8xxx 4G modem as WiFi hotspot, Joying rear cam and Joying dashcam. All in all - it's a new world which opens to you with Android HU. I could not have something like this (and much more) on factory RNS: https://yadi.sk/i/Zg1TFzHu3PDvou
You plan to abandon RCD unit, which is not a Navi system. For those like me who had RNS Navi - you are going to miss correct tunnel/no GPS guidance and correct direction in the morning when factory Navi knows right from ignition how to make proper guidance. In 3-rd party HU there is no compass, gyros and speed sensor data which are used by a navi program (speed is available via CAN, but a navi program is not aware of it, only GPS). I still agree when VW calls it's 9 year old factory HU a "premium navi".
Sound quality can not compare to factory unit despite that brand new "digital amp" (I have "D" model), but here I am lucky - all my audio interests are in FM news radio.
I also have a Passat 2012 and a Joying Sofia 8" with HW knobs (JY VL130N2).
I am generally very pleased with this combination. Everything works except for
BT indeed is not perfect.
Dasaita units also have a good reputation here. I never had one, so I cannot tell much about those...
Hello,
Thanks for response. I'm wondering if there's a specific model from Joying that's current "the best". At the moment I'm looking at:
VW 6.0 OCTA CORE HEAD UNIT PX5 and VW NEW DIGITAL AMPLIFIER AUTORADIO ANDROID 6.0 HEAD UNIT
If anyone have any other suggestions (Dasaita, Seicane...) please dont hesitate to say. Thanks.
Regards
Do not mess with "octa PX5". The second link is OK, since the part number is DE-JY-VM130N2D - just the same I have. If you have external amp, then "D" model is not recomended, take one without "digital amp" built in - like DE-JY-VM130N2.
With that choice we have a very promising perspective, just take a look here https://forum.carjoying.com/thread-1377-current-state-of-hackishness-.html

Why are you saying do not mess with PX5? A lot of users recomends PX5 because it is new and has unofficial support like PX3, so seems more futureproof than anything else right now.

Xtrons and Volvo

Hi everyone, I’m new to this forum. I know a bit about Volvo (the older ones!), and Volvo head units, but not about Chinese Android head units.
I’m considering replacing the aging head unit of my (also aging!) 2002 Volvo V70. The head unit is a simple HU 603, so no Dolby, center speaker or extra amplifier. I’m looking at Xtrons TA702P (quad core) or TB706PL (octa core). I prefer a 7 inch touch screen, no knobs, no DVD. But navi should be good, as would radio. Music I can play through usb. And my Elephone S7 (Android 7.1) phone should mirror on the unit if possible.
Other functions like back up camera or steering wheel control are not important to me.
I know how to take the HU 603 out. I know I need an adapter harness to connect with the new unit. And a fascia adapter. All that is available.
My questions:
Xtrons has many car/model specific head units (not for Volvo). They have Canbus decoders supplied with the unit. Not so for the TA702P or the TB706PL. Will that give problems? (The answer from the ebay seller is somewhat useless: ‘Both the TB706PL and the TL702P does not come with the canbus so that you just ignore it.’) Anyone has experience with this?
How are user experiences with these modern Xtrons units? I know, ‘you get what you pay for’, I know that. But still, worth the money?
Units from Kenwood or Pioneer are other options, but again, is it worth it?
Thanks!
Hi there
I own and drive a V70 from 2006. I have replaced the original HU with a SONY 2 DIN unit (XAV-V630BT). This unit has great sound. I also swapped the speakers to JBL. It is totally worth it.
I have a CANbus to resistor unit. This makes it possible to use the steering wheel buttons.
Right now i am testing a Android HU. Unfortunately i have bought the wrong one. The unit is full of bad design choices. The sound integration in the unit is bad. I think that radio, BLUETOOTH and AUX sound runs directly to the sound processor. This means that when the Android unit plays a sound, the sound from the other units are turned off. In my opinion the other source should just fade a little.

Hi there
As said, I don't need steering wheel controls, my steering wheel doesn't even have the buttons. Must have been a cheapskate first owner!
Does this mean the Canbus only affects steering wheel control? So ignoring Canbus (no resistor as in your case), will give no problems?
And yes, by now I've found out Android units may not have the best sound quality. Or radio reception.

Mitsubishi Outlander 2gen (2010-2012) with rockfordfossgate w/sub MMCS w/rear cam

Hi
I have a Mitsubishi outlander 2011 with rockfordfossgate MMCS system and rear view cam.
I have now installed a Dasaita PX5 Octa Core 64 bit 4gb Ram 32 G rom with Android 8.0 I am currentely using Hal9K rom version 3.1.2 works great
I have got everything working, rear view camera (had to solder a bit to get the original camera to work.)
All speakers with sub working, with the original amplifier.
But i can't fade/balance speakers, don't know if thats posible to fix?
Tone controll working fine.
But i am missing some featurers, I am not sure if it is possible to get it to work?
In my MMCS unit i had the opportunity to change car settings "see attachments".
Like how the wipers shall act and things like that.
I also hade speed signal and fule consumption information.
Not sure if the canbus for my dasaita support this?
In the factorysettings on my dasaita i have choosen canbus (111 Mitsubishi pajero&outlander%asx&lancer(simple)
Steering whell controlls working fine, when i put the car in revers i get the rearview camera and that is working fine.
I have see people talking about car_info app, vehicle.apk and controllinfo apps, this are apps working in the background like the rearview camera app right?.
But i get no icons for this apps on my head unit, and nothing in extra menu or car setting menu.
I do not get any signal when opening doors og changing temperatur on the AC and things like that.
So my question is simple, is there any way for me on my car to get the opertunity to change the settings link a was able to do in the original MMCS unit?
In the MMCS hadde an "equpment" meny, that i do not have now. I also like for information like speed signal, doors opening and things like that be poping up on the unit.
Or is this settning for the equipment and speed signa, doors just not supportet with my canbus decoder?
Is there any other way to get to this equpment setting in my car without installing the original MMCS unit?
Mayby with ODB2 or something like that?

Where u able to figure any of this out?
Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk
I have 2008 Pajero Exceed.. whilst older than yours.
It doesn't have the extra menu controls you're also missing
I was looking at a system fully installed Extnix $600
But didn't follow through.
They advised me everything would work including amp -EXCEPT the fade/balance, so it might be a bit more embedded into the Mitsubishi system and missing from alternative head units ?
I'm really interested for this topic. I have a Mitsubishi Outlander and it would be great if I could still have stock MMCS settings on an aftermarket android unit.

Yes, I do have a gps unit. But if I install an aftermarket android unit I will loose all stock mitsubishi car settings like remote car pre-heating, consumption information as well as other important car settings .

Yeah my bad I didn't clarify that from the beginning. I have a 2015 Outlander PHEV.

KUNFINE or Zbark

Similar units. Both PX5 Android 9.0 Zbark is only available with 2k RAM 16K ROM. Kunfine is available 4K RAM and up to 64K ROM. Units are otherwise similar.
Installation will be in a 2010 Prius with factory JBL amp. I need the availability of a CanBus adapter to utilize factory amp. Replacing the JBL amp, or bypassing it and only using HU amp, would require rewiring. Those are the only units I found which will mount without the need for a dash kit, Xtron has a unit but only mounts on a Prius with RHD. They don't appear to have one for LHD.
Does anyone have an opinion of one over the other? Is there any issue having a unit with 2K RAM on only 16k ROM? Is 32K ROM enough or should I go to 64K? I might wind up using navigation from my phone and either using screen mirroring or Android Play to view on HU.
I like the specs of the Atoto pro units but JBL amp integration is through something like PAC or Metra. My past experience isn't great.
Edited to add aliexpress is showing a similar unit from a company called wondefoo. Claim to have ips screen.

[RESOLVE] Kia Rio 2011 Navifly 7862 android 10. car speedometer disabled

Hello,
After installing my android head unit ( Navifly 7862 android 10 4gb/64gb ), when I drive, my speedometer remains at 0.
it seems that there is no option in the menu to activate it.
Maybe it's a wiring problem.
otherwise everything else works fine

after some research and wiring checks. One of the wires from the universal connector was poorly wired.
The blue wire was connected to the wrong input.
is this navifly device good build quality?
Can you give a review about it.
I'm interested because it seems to have good radio chip (TEF6686), good cpu, functionality, etc but...
Since I have a Bosion with px6 cpu, fake android 10 and a few problems with sound quality, radio quality, steering wheel buttons, I'm disapointed with it.
Thank you
