I've got Samsung Galaxy Tab and original Samsung Keyboard Dock. However since I'm Thai sometimes I need to type in Thai as well. since Samsung default keyboard did not support typing in Thai .I need to buy keyboard software for my Tab. Typing with new keyboard software works great with dock in both languages however every time I connect tab with my dock it always change back to Samsung default keyboard, also if the blacklight are gone I need to change keyboard every single time when I turn Galaxy Tab again. So is there any chance to disable or to modify some setting for disabling the default keyboard? I tried to search in many places with no joy at all.
My machine already rooted so if there is a necessary change in system it can be done easily.
Thank you in advance
You can delete the Samsung keyboard with Titanium Backup - start Titanium Backup, go to the Samsung keyboard app and delete it.
No clue, if this fixes your problem - please do not blame me, if this has not the effect you want to have
I use a custom keyboard too and deleted the Samsung keyboard without any problem.
I may suggest you to FREEZE the keyboard with Titanium Backup. It's always a good choice when "deleting" system applications, that may render the system unstable or unusable.
Once you are completely sure that the tab is fine without the stock keyboard in freeze mode, you can them delete it.

My problem is solved! Thanks to both of you . I just simply uninstall the Samsung Keyboard because the freeze option is not available in free version and I can't simply buy the apps from the market. I haven't got market access yet. But will donate that great software soon!
I am so happy right now. No problem at all with my Galaxy Tab!

Hello everyone,
I have done a backup of my text messages with SmartSwitch yesterday night before flashing a new Rom.
Everything went well until i restored my backup into the phone. All my messages are now with a weird date of 05/02/2036, my date and time on the phone was correct.
I have deleted all the messages, restored the backup again and still the same problem.
Anyone know how can i fix this problem? Please.
Thanks in advance for the help.
Me too
same here - restored from Smart Switch yesterday and all sms are 'wrong way up' in terms of conversation view and ridiculous dates in SMS list
Sorry I can help no more other than to endorse but I'll be giving Samsung a broadside - not that that will do much good other than to ease spleen-pressure
Still haven't found a way to fix this...
Did you have any answer from Samsung @BrushMush ?
Just been speaking to Samsung about this, they are ware of the problem and apparently the SmartSwitch software needs updating. This may take a few weeks.
Samsung 'Smart' Switch
OK Folks,
I have had my Tech Expert visitation today with no success. Seemingly the emails I exchanged with Samsung UK were wide of the mark in terms of the impression I drew : Download Smart Tutor (imagine my reluctance ???) & someone clever from Samsung will delve deep into your Note 4 and resolve the horrors which Smart Switch has deposited into your SMS life ??
In fairness the guy I spoke to was a straight talker - there is NO FIX. Samsung are aware of the Smart Switch issue and are 'working on it'. I was advised to use Kies (Shriek!!!) and NOT Smart Switch until Smart Switch is updated.
So, I backed-up to Smart Switch because I was getting repeated Google App has stopped . . . Error 505 for which the universal solution seemed to be : Backup, Factory Reset, Restore - so I did. And I now have the same result as other Posters hitherto.
It appears, according to nice guy from Samsung, who was most apologetic, that it is Smart Switch on your PC which knackers your backup. It is not the restore, hence a factory reset & restore will not cure the problem on a 'statistical success' basis since the Backup on your PC is corrupt.
What 'stiffs' me most here is that I 'cloned' my old SG4 >> Note 4 using Smart Switch & Bluetooth and I had no such problems. I conclude therefore that Samsung have 'difficulty' with PC software (take Kies for exampto look for a decent PC-based SMS Managerle and now Smart Switch) since the Android >> Android transfer was fine - a damned sight faster than Android >> PC for example.
Thus I retire to look for a decent SMS Manager (if there is one) in the hope that I can maybe alter the message date on the phone, otherwise it's a 'save to PC' then delete off the phone so normal service can be resumed. The long threads (with No.2 Son) are absolutely doing my Crust presently.
Sorry I haven't better news to report

Workround!
Got an A3 (2016) that I wanted to 'Smart' Switch all data from an old S3. Everything worked except Messages. It just uploaded older messages and dated them all 2036. So, I did a backup of my S3 using Kies3 then used 'Smart Switch' to restore messages. Surprisingly it did offer me the Kies backup to restore. Hey Presto, Messages all 'restored to the A3'. Hope that works for others as it made my day! Merry Xmas.
I just picked up a Samsung Gear Fit 2 while it was on sale to give the Android smart watch experience a try! I was able to download the Samsung Gear app from the Play Store, but unfortunately, I get an error when I try to open the app that says:
Notice
The operating system on your phone has been modified in an unauthorized way, and is not compatible with the Samsung Gear app. Check your operating system and try again.
After searching online for some fixes, some people seemed to have varying levels of success with modifying the build.prop file? A lot of people still had issues then connecting with the Gear device, or with things like the IR blaster being disabled when the manufacturer was changed in the build.prop file.
I'm currently using the MIUI 8 ROM.
Has anyone had success with getting the Samsung Gear app to work with a custom ROM? And if so, what was the fix?
I have a couple tablets that were setup as Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) for commercial truck drivers. Booting the tablets will only present a data entry screen. and trying to access anything else on the tablet gives the message "Screen is pinned. Unpinning isn't allowed by your organization". I'd like to reset the tablet to be a normal tablet. Does anyone have any info on how to do this?
Tablet model: SM-T377P (with sim for Sprint)
From the recovery screen it appears to be Android 6.0.1
I haven't tried anything at this point as I didn't want to make it any harder to reset the tablet. I don't even know if reversing this setting is possible? The only info I've been able to find was related to creating Android single purpose devices, Kiosk mode with Samsung Knox.
Thanks for any help.
Maybe it's easier to receive an answer in the Samsung Galaxy Tab E Forum?

That would make more sense, thanks, much appreciated.
