Google Camera with HDR+ for Snapdragon 821 - LeEco Le Pro3 Questions & Answers

So there's now a Google Camera with HDR+ for Snapdragon 820, 821 and 835: https://www.xda-developers.com/google-camera-hdr-ported/
It seems to work on OnePlus 3/3T/5, and several other devices. But it crashes when launched on my x720 with stock 26s... Does anyone have a lead on how to make it work?

I think it's for Nougat.

I superficially tested now this ported google camera and it seems to work, no crashes on LineageOS 14.1 (nougat) rom from Team Superluminal (2017 07 09 release). Phone is Lex 720 6/64 GB. I have not extensively tested the camera, only a quick look to features and 3 photos! Cheers!

Oh, I missed that information...
It's for Android 7.0 minimum, you're right.

It works very well on TS Lineage 14.1.
It' s seem to be a new oficial google camera version 4.4.020 (not beta). I hope the dev port this version too.

I just tried Google Camera v4.4 with CM14. The best quality ever.. Compare with camera app in CM14, footej camera and previous pictures taken with stock camera (EUI).

Is there any version of google camera that I can use on stock marshmallow rom? I have installed several apks for Google camera, they boot up fine but then say "cannot connect to camera"

You can search for Google camera 3.2.045 (2821762-40 for arm64), latest Marshmallow compatible. Cheers!

Only working version so far is GoogleCamera_2.7.010

The v2 file works great but the other one crashes when video is up. Is there a version of google camera or any camera will allow me to record 60fps videos? The only one I know of is open camera but I'm not a fan.

Would you be willing to post some before and after pictures to show how stock camera compares?

hdr+ for our phone?

Hi everyone, it is possible to shot hdr+ photos on Moto G5 Plus?
I don't think the ISP on the 625 chip can handle HDR+. You could try to look into the mod made for the Nexus 5X, but it uses the 808 chip. Probably the best place to start.

Well of course not, that mod is designed for the Nexus 5X. I was saying that the mod may give you an idea of how to do it for the G5 Plus, but obviously that mod wouldn't work for our phone.
Yes, it is possible with custom ROM.
Aug. 11 Google Camera with HDR+ https://www.xda-developers.com/google-camera-hdr-ported/
The APP CANNOT work on Moto G5 Plus with stock ROM, but runs well on foollowing devices:
ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom (ZE553KL) Snapdragon 625 + IMX 362 (same as Moto G5 Plus)
Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Snapdragon 625 + LineageOS 14.1 or Resurrection Remix OS or AOSP
Please share the HDR+ photo comparission if you succeed.

Amazon versions of the G5 Plus can apparently be rooted but they have to be on the initial firmware. Apparently updating the stock firmware to NPNS25.137-35-5 or above potentially breaks the ability to root. When I checked the code camera 2 had some simulation convergence which required focus and auto Exposure to converge at the same time I think the ae thread holds up the process so focus works sometimes other times it's out of :fingers-crossed focus
The workaround was to modify the gcam code and break the AF trigger and set the focus to off this mode allows us Moto g5 users to lock focus at driver level at a specific distances i mostly shoot landscapes sometimes macro so I have a zaf config file to 1000cm settable distances are 7cm 10 14 20 30 40 50 60 120 hyperfocal 1000cm to switch files/config can be done via scripts it's quick I personally don't find it as a big deal as we gain hdr+ .
Also have a modified driver for low light that and paired with hdr+ low light is pretty darn good imo with modified lib not even the pixel could keep up.
Also about 64bit being required this apk is not from 4pda and is modified from the last 32bit gcam

Is this only for stock ROM or should also work on custom ROMs? Someone above mentioned that it crashes on LOS.
Saying "modified driver for low light", you mean your noise reduction/sharpening mod?
Thanks in advance for reply and for your work on camera app.

i use it on the latest xiaomi eu dev. also portrait mode only works with the rear camera, not the front. the front camera is just upside down with no blurr effect and low quality. but maybe its because i have the mi5 api fix installed that fixed the upside down front camera after you installed api2. dont know
what works now with miui android 7 is:
config camera HDR+:
Nexus 5X, Nexus 6 Auto, Nexus 6P, Pixel 2016 Tuning (doesnt crash but has problems saving pictures), Pixel 2017 Zsl Hdr PD (doesnt crash but black screen, no connection to photo camere, video works)
everything else crashes.
Model:
Pixel XL(corr), Pixel 2XL, Pixel 2, Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X = basically all work fine.

It works perfectly on Mi MAX 2.
HDR+: Nexus 6p.
Rom: xiaomi.eu 9.2 STABLE
Thank you @Arnova8G2
Using Google camera mod v. 5.1.018.177470874 with xiaomi.eu stable 9.2 and everything works well except slowmo(didn't modify mediaprofiles because that crashes slowmo in miui default camera). Just modified build.prop for camera2api support and the angle of front camera for the upsidedown problem. I use Nexux 6p configs.
Works perfectly for me MIUI 9.2 stable .eu ROM, Nexus 6p configs.
have anyone managed to take astrophotography using mi5? mine isn't working. I have tried many gcam 7.1/7.2 ports, none worked. It shows astrophotography on while mounted to tripod but only takes 8/9 seconds to take picture instead of 4 minutes long exposure. I'm using PE10 rom.

I can tell you this for sure, i spent last 2 days trying to get a fully functional Gcam to work on my Note 2 and there is no way to do it. Must have tried 3 dozens different Gcams....and a dozen different hacks on how to get them to work. Some work with no HDR some work only back cam some with no Video Camera etc etc.
I'm running Pixel Experience (8.1) Rom that comes with a basic Gcam with no HDR that is the closest to a working cam. I decided to opt for Open Camera that is free fully functional (HDR, DRO and more) video rec works, front and back work and it supports Cam2Api for extra functions. I'd like to get a fully functional Gcam but as far as i know is not possible...yet at least.
The question *WHY* is a very good starting point.
There are almost no phones sharing the quirky SONY imx318 sensor. Just a handful, rather unpopular phones. Which means no development on the gcam, etc.
However, knowing that the Note 2 has a SD821 SoC and a SONY IMX sensor, porting *should* be possible.
(Google Pixel is running an SD821 and a (far superior) SONY IMX sensor)
I forgot to mention that I have Pixel Experience installed and have removed the preinstalled camera first with help of system app uninstaller , before installing the camera. HDR+ works so far.

Google Camera Port for Moto Z2 Play

Hello Sirs, I would like to call everyone who has an interest in having the portability of Google Camera with the maximum possible resources, for our beloved Moto Z2 Play device, both developers to generate this compatibility as the sponsors in form of donation to these developers by the job.
I contacted @Arnova8G2 who is currently the main developer of such compatibility with more smartphones.
He asked to run the test with the Camera2 Test application, in which I am attaching the report here in this post.
I would like the manifesto of all those interested in being willing to make donations and to the developers who proposes the possibility of bringing this feature to Moto Z2 Play.
Camera2 Test Resume:
OS Version: 3.18.71-perf-g554d879(26)
OS API Level: 8.0.0(26)
Device: albus
Model (and Product): Moto Z2 Play (albus)
I am in !
Me too
Iam also very much interested
I want
I think everyone want it... But we have ARM Oreo... Gcam need ARM64
Actually Moto Z2 Play has no Camera2 implemented, so I think it won't be possible.
At least not on stock ROMs.
Eager to ee
Any update on this made??
Just download Google camera version 2.7 from apkmirror. Works fine. 360 images and all.

In the ResorectionRemix rom have a google apk camera modifiet for our sensor.
But the apk is little outdated. We need some one to modify the new version whit fixed autofocus.

This version is very old from 2015 if I'm not mistaken. Versions 3 4 and 5 have already popped up so it seems an updated modded version would not hurt
I use the 360 mode only. If the new version has some other features I'd be curious. I use my stock camera app for most pics.

That camera won't have the HDR+ which is what is meant by porting Gcam. I posted in the apps thread today one that has HDR+ and is ported for 32bit.
Google camera 6.1 (pixel 3) working relatively stable.
Thanks to the developer san1ty.
Download here (last version)
- Use the app configured as it comes.
- Only change HDR min and max frames to 28 (36 may be too much for our cpu, i had fc's).
- The night sight mode only will work on devices up to 3gb of ram memory.
Bugs: camera does not focus and save pictures (in normal -no HDR- mode)
Tested on a Moto z2 play (albus) running lineageos 15.1.
Obviously requires 64 bit OS (only custom roms)
im using moto z2 play. so as i am.

Yea the version is not running but dont get why are the not running I too have Mi A1 unrooted.
GCam 5.3 and 6.1 are mostly from the Pixel devices which only use SINGLE rear cameras. I'm guessing the problem with our devices is that it has DUAL rear cameras and the app is having issues making it work while FRONT camera works for both apps.
but Gcam 5.3 version works on Mi A2, must be some other reason. @joeyhuab
