Just got an Verizon S7 on Nougat. I tried using some VR apps. At first all seems ok, then in a minute or two, screen freezes then drifts. exiting app and opening app again and its stays frozen. Have to reboot phone to get working again. then after a minute or two screen freezes and drifts. Doesn't matter which VR app is used. Very annoying.

After a while the top part of my screen will completely stop responding to touch. I can't pull down the notification area or press anything on the upper portion of the phone. After, I reboot it works for about 30 seconds and then the top part of the screen will stop working again. The only thing that will fix it is to wait it out. Maybe a few hours later it will start working again. Then a couple days later and the same thing happens. I think maybe my phone is overheating from some app or something and then it causes this to happen for some reason. That would I guess explain why it starts working after while, because the phone had a chance to cool off
Anybody else experience this?
Yes your not alone with this issue.
This happened to my galaxy S8 plus after using twitter.
I uninstalled the app but I hadn't regained the ability of touch response.
I don't have a backup device but have ordered an older model so that I can further diagnose.
In the meantime I found an app to help counteract the problem. ie. Rotation - Orientation Manager
To be clear this is the top portion of the screen from Very top to about a half inch down.
I verified by using a touch sensor test app. ie. Yet Another MultiTouch Test
I've also did the soft reset, clear cache, and since I use a third party Home Launcher reinstalled it. ie. Nova Launcher Prime
Good luck!
Was using the phone normally. Only app that was open was YouTube, watching a video. In the middle of it, the entire phone froze and there was this high pitched sound. Nothing worked. Phone froze completely.
This lasted for about 10 seconds, then it just rebooted. So far everything seems normal. The closest thing I can describe it to is a blue screen of death crash on Windows.
You guys have any idea what it could be, or anyone else had a similar experience?

Happened to me twice, once in Kik and once on the home screen. No high pitch sound but same 10-ish second freeze then reboot. Hasn't happened since the update though.
Happened to me a few minutes ago while watching a Youtube video. I have a Verizon S7 edge from the Mobile Insights program.
Anyone having trouble with some apps crashing? I am having trouble with the Tsum Tsum app and Fly GPS.
1. Tsum Tsum gets hung up on one of two places. One is when loading it will get to the screen that says "Checking for LINE announcements...." and it will just stay on that screen forever. I can force close it, and other times it will get beyond this screen, then ask for you to login with LINE. Once I press to proceed with login, the app crashes and takes me back to the home screen.
2. Fly GPS, I have Mock Locations enabled. Once choosing the GPS location and running, Fly GPS will crash and take me to the home screen.
I find it funny that these apps don't work, then are working perfectly fine on my S7 Edge (Android 6.0.1)
Just tried Tsum Tsum, and mine works...
Mine flygps crashing running marshmallow 6.0.1 unite2. It also crashes when i was using lolipop
Restored a rooted G5 Plus back to stock firmware (re-locked bootloader). After restoring a number of apps the phone now freezes for 10 to 30 seconds after clearing the lock screen to access the device then every 20 to 40 minutes the same issue crops up again. Is there any way to figure out which app is the cause without going through another lenghty process of restoring to stock and reloading apps one at a time? Like a way to view some sort of log files that show which app is freezing or consuming all phone resources? Or an app that will do the same?
A few times I've had calls disconnect, listening to music freezes for short periods of time, and the System UI or what ever app is open will also freeze because of this.
And a second issue cropped up as well post restore to stock, getting a "Updating Bluetooth Context" notification that pops up briefly and disappears from time to time. Searching doesn't seem to indicate a solid root cause to this (like an app) but seems to be something some have had crop up.
Keyboard is not showing up in any textbox in any app after closing netflix (may be picture-in-picture mode). This happens randomly and I have to restart the phone. Any other workaround?
I had this happen to me today at the gym. I was not using Netflix. Not sure what caused it. A reboot solved the problem.
Had aame issue with me and got resolved with restart. Keyboard is frustrating in signal app as well. Keyboard+ emoji selection will take up 70-80% of screen and had to go back twice to close both one by one.
