OF COURSE MY GRANDAUGHTER HASNT TOUCHED ANYTHING (she said...hmmmmm)
any help guys, much appreciated...took 20 mins just to type this message out.
thanks,
Harry.
The phone saying custom means root has been attempted or some other non official action. The boot image is corrupted or missing it sounds like. That's a soft brick. Download the marshmallow stock firmware for your carrier from sammobile, boot it in download mode and reflash the firmware. It should fix the issue.
Hi,and thanks for your help
I believe I have now downloaded the correct software as you instructed.
How do I install it please,,,would it be via odin? (I know a little about this program)
No joy

First - try another cable if possible.
Second - get this small program and download full factory firmware from Samsung server. It will contain the necessary pit file.
What CSC (regional code) do you need?
Have d/loaded samfirm but cant see how to use.......
trying to locate another usb lead
unure of what a region code is.... its used in the uk on Vodafone
sorry I cant be more helpfull

Samsung has no UK Vodafone variant for S5.
If you still have the original box you can find "Model: SM-G901blablablabla" there on the sticker.
"blablablabla" contains regional code.

@harryj22
Here's a firmware for you.
You need to download it, unpack and flash via Odin.
There're 4 files in the zip. You need to point Odin to each of them in the appropriate slot.
I.e. AP_xxxx.tar.md5 in AP slot, BL_xxx.tar.md5 in BL slot and so on.
It's VD2 variant, Vodafone Germany.
Should work well in the UK, you only need to select English at the startup.

okay,so booted phone up,via 3 buttons (the only way it will start).
open odin (run as admin)
insert all files as instructed into each field
odin reads ....Fail
Initialization
set pit file
do not turn off target
fail
re partition operation failed
all threads completed (succeed 0 / failed 1)
Phone reads...
odin flash read failiure
error there is no pit binary
pit fail total sectors (38375936)
Tried removing usb and plugging back in .but still the same result
I think its time for this phone to visit the bin.

Not so fast.
But the results look strange.
Please power off the phone and start it in Odin mode (hold power, Vol- and Home, after a message appears press Vol+).
It must look like here: http://dorylabs.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/samsung-galaxy-s5-download-mode.jpg
Now tell me what's there in "Product name: ???" Is it really SM-G901F or something other?
Is there the name of the product on the sticker under the battery?
One more chance: try to flash that firmware (4-files), but add pit-file before flashing.
You need to download and unzip it.
Insert 4 firmware files in Odin's slots and then insert pit-file.
Pit-file should be inserted in Odin's "Pit" tab, ignore the warning.
Note, this pit-file is for SM-G901F, VD2 firmware (exactly what you've downloaded from my cloud), it may not work with other firmwares.

So, if I understand correctly, the phone boots to this "Boot recovery mode" if you hold 3 buttons (Vol Down, Power and Home), right? Not "Odin mode"?
Well, what happens if you hold Power button for 15-20 sec. in this "Boot recovery mode"?

1. There is not such thing as boot recovery mode. That is a description of the problem. There are only four modes in which a powered-off S5 would go, no matter the version. Normal Boot, Recovery, Download Mode (sometimes known as ODIN Mode) and Charging Mode.
2. Your problem is that the sbl1 partition doesn't exist due to an emmc fail. Read the part i've put in bold. The bootloader is missing because your eMMC died. Go and get it replaced and stop wasting your time trying to load firmwares when it simply can't.

It's a logical assumption but not the only possible, I think.
That's why we're still talking about this phone.
The bootloader may be damaged because somebody tried to flash something wrong, for example. This is a more optimistic assumption and it has not been refuted till now.

To say the truth, I've never seen this screen before.
I don't know what it is and I'm sure you don't know too.
But look: in recovery the first line says "Android recovery", in Odin mode the first line says "Odin mode".
I've just assumed that the first line in this mode gives the same information.
As for the number of "boot modes", have you ever seen something like on the photo below?
So I want to say: I'd bet 10:1 you're right. But let's give OP a chance to test every possible option before this phone goes to trash.

1. This phone doesn't need to go into the trash. It can be fixed. I mean its fault is written right on screen: mmc_read failed. Isn't that English? Let me translate it for you: sbl2(aboot) can't read anything from the emmc.
2. For the past 3 years I have been running a phone repair shop in Akihabara where 80% of the customers that come in with a Samsung device have had either their eMMC or software go wrong. And in 99% of these cases, the phone was fixed just by changing the eMMC and rewriting all the bootloaders: NON-HLOS, sbl1, aboot, sdi, rpm and tz in that order.
3. In recovery, on my device, it says Team Win Recovery Project. Is it recovery? Yes. ODIN Mode or Download Mode are the same, the name is interchangeable.
L.E. This BOOT RECOVERY MODE looks more or less like Download/ODIN Mode. Except it has been hijacked by the error message (first like in red) and a very very lackluster information: mmc_read failed.
Well, what happens if you hold Power button for 15-20 sec. in this "Boot recovery mode"?[/QUOTE]

It is going to be VERY difficult because it requires a rework station, a new eMMC chip, flux, and balls (cojones) the size of the Hoover Dam to do it yourself without proper equipment or any know-how. The rework station is 3000$USD+ and the knowledge is priceless. I am really sorry.

Hi folks,
Just got my GE S4 this morning. So far it's awesome. The only problem is that I'm so eager to root this phone and I cannot find any information on how to do it. Any ideas? I'm doubting it's as simple as just using the same method as the regular S4's, but I could easily be wrong.
Also, any information on whether there will be a sub-forum for the GE phones?
Thanks!

I think we'll have to wait for a custom recovery before we can root, methinks.
If you're feeling saucy, you can try 'fastboot oem unlock' and see what that does? (Warning: it may wipe your device, it does for my nexus 10)
EDIT: Looks like auto-root does fastboot oem unlock if you're not unlocked.

Ill try that in a moment... Its recovering my apps... Its like 250 apps.. Its on 32%...
But i guess it wont show as custom, GE edition has a Unlocked Bootloader. It was made to be custom rom friendly....
Even if it counts... It wont matter... Probably a counter reseter will solve it...

Nooooo... You dont know how to flash ?
read the instructions there:
- Download and unzip the CF-Auto-Root-....zip file (see posts below this one)
- If you end up with a recovery.img and cache.img file, you've extracted twice. You need to end up with a .tar.md5 file - don't extract that one
- (USB) Disconnect your phone from your computer
- Start Odin3-vX.X.exe
- Click the PDA button, and select CF-Auto-Root-....tar.md5
- Put your phone in download mode (turn off phone, then hold VolDown+Home+Power to boot - if it asks you to press a button to continue, press the listed button, or run adb reboot download command)
- (USB) Connect the phone to your computer
- Make sure Repartition is NOT checked
- Click the Start button
- Wait for Android to boot
- Done (if it took you more than 30 seconds, you need practise!)

I know how. I've done it many times before this. While flashing, odin crashed. :crying:
Is it possible to flash the GE firmware on the international version? If yes does anyone have a guide?
Okay, it worked. Thought my phone was bricked. I used a different version of Odin and it stopped crashing and worked.
I can now confirm that Auto Root works on the GE S4!
Download mode shows that I'm on a custom binary now. It still says "Write Protection: Enable"
I'm curious to find out what that means. The bootloader is already unlocked. I wonder if a certain partition is locked.
I guess the next question to answer is: Can we use the same recoveries as the i9505? I hope so..

I might be wrong but I don't think download mode supports fastboot. Either that, or I'm doing something wrong. With my phone in download mode and my S4 connected, the command "fastboot devices" doesn't show any devices, but when I plug my N4 in, it shows up. Is there a special fastboot mode that is different from download mode?

Your phone is not bricked if you are getting system error messages or able to boot to download (Odin) mode. Bricked means that a phone responds the same as a brick does. So unless you have a red clay brick that also boots to download mode..
To fix your phone, go to download mode and flash the full stock firmware image for your model /carrier. You should do this in conjunction with the correct PIT file for your phone. Many people skip the PIT file and still prevail. But it's an unnecessary risk to skip it and you would do so at your own peril.
You say that flashing stock didn't work, but you provided no details whatsoever. You don't need a new bootloader, you need to use Odin correctly. To help spot where you are going astray, you need to describe step by step how you are using Odin, the name of the stock firmware file you are flashing, your phone model and verbatim, what you see on the Odin screen. A screen shot or photograph of the download mode screen on the phone would help too.

I tried using the "u1_02_20110310_emmc_EXT4.pit" along with "CF-Auto-Root-kltemetropcs-kltemetropcs-smg900t1.tar.md5", on "Odin3-v3.07" and I get, what looks like the download mode, except it states in the upper right hand corner (in red letters) "Could not do normal boot". The only way out is to do a battery pull. It will allow me to go into "Download mode", as the second picture indicates, and Odin states stays on "Reset". The message it states is as follows: D:0/006> NAND Write Start!!, <ID:0/006> cache.img.ext4, <ID:0/006> RQT_CLOSE !!, <ID:0/006> RES OK !!, <ID:0/006> Removed!!, <ID:0/006> Remain Port .... 0, <OSM> All threads completed. You aren't following the suggestions made earlier. You are taking shortcuts that you think won't matter and introducing all kinds of variables. And failing. If you really want to get your phone working, you should follow the advice rather than taking liberties and winging it.
Flash a stock firmware image, not a modified image intended for rooting. First you need a stable system - you can root afterwards. Make sure it is a 100% stock tar for your carrier and use Odin 3.09 instead of the older version you have. Flash the firmware .tar file and PIT file at the same time, with the PIT, F. reset and auto reboot checked in Odin. If the Odin flash fails, try a different USB cable and port. A different computer if you need too.
Also you gave no details about the PIT file, other than the file name. We cannot tell if that is the correct file for your phone. The PIT file needs to match your phone model, ROM size and carrier. There is a XDA thread that should have the correct file. Probably the one that I uploaded here.
As well, if you get an Odin flash failed message, do not close or reset Odin. Instead pull the battery on your phone, replace it and then boot to download mode (press and hold volume down, then home, then the power button). Then try flashing again. The flash will inevitably succeed the second time, even though it failed at first.

What am I doing wrong????
I followed your advise and still no luck. You claim that my phone is not "bricked" but yet I did everything that you recommended and I'm still in the same place. I downloaded your "PIT.tar" file and had to change the name, because "Odin3 v3.09" would not recognize it. I put the pit file and AP file (AND YES, it is a full STOCK image) at the same time, tried it with "re-partition checked" and it failed! I tried it with out and it went through, but I am not able to get any further. Still getting "could not do normal boot"
"You state that I am taking short cut". Could you let me know what I am missing or at least direct me to a tutorial that does not show any short cuts? I get as far as seeing the "red android" figure, with and eye patch and it states that it will restart in 10 seconds. After reboot, I get the same message "Could not do normal boot". :crying:
By the way, would it matter that the pit file that you directed me to is for tmobile and this is a Metro pcs phone? Thank you.
I tried to give you good advice in my first post. Do you recall what I said?

And you still aren't doing so. You are not describing what you are doing step by step. You are not giving us file names so that we know which version of stock firmware you tried to install. Or whether it was really stock. You didn't paste the Odin log - what you saw onscreen. You pepper us with a summary and a few details and expect us to divine what has happened. It doesn't work that way. No one can help you constructively if you refuse to provide abundant information about your situation.
The best you can hope for is drive by guesses or perhaps someone patient that might try to cajole information out of you. We'd all like to help you, but you're making it difficult. It would be in your best interests to provide exhaustive detail because those details are the key thing that will enable people to help you. If you change your mind and provide the detail, someone in the forum will try to help you.
Good luck.

Well, I am not too sure how much more can be described from all of my last post, but here goes:
I power up the phone and I get a quick flash, before what looks like the download screen, appears and up at the top left hand corner the message reads "Could not do normal boot" and the under the green android figure are the words "Downloading... Do not turn off target!!"
I then continue to do a battery pull and I proceed to go into download mode (Holding vol. down button, home button and power button at the same time. I get Warning message and at bottom it states "Use volume up: continue, volume down: Cancel(restart phone). I push the volume up button. I am now in down load mode. If you look at the sceen at this point, this is how my SM-G900T1 is booting up, EXCEPT for those little red words at the top. In normal download screen, it states "ODIN"MODE". When I boot up my SM-G900T1, those little red words at the top say "Could not do normal boot" instead of ODIN.
Once I am in download mode, I proceed to use the files that you recommended (the .pit file and the AP file). I load up the files into Odin and I click, start. It begins to work and it then says, "RESET" while it is blue. My phone restarts and I see the red android figure with an eye patch and at the bottom it says, restart in 10 seconds.
the phone proceeds to restart and it goes back to that error message, which looks like the download mode, with the words up at the top , in red letters state "Could not do normal boot. ODIN MODE"
in white letters:
Product Name: SM-G900T1
Current Binary: Custom
System Status: Cusatom
Knox Warranty void: 0x1 (4)
Qualcomm Secureboot: enable (CSB)
RP SWREV: S1, T1, R1, A1, P!
UDC START
my phone goes no further than this and have kept it connected to odin. Now I look up at ODIN and it shows PASS!! in a green box with a time of 02:10. But my phone will not boot up. I restart and I get the message once again"Could not do normal boot"[/LIST
Hopefully someone could help. Thank you.
Well the important thing is that you can get to download mode (aka Odin mode) one way or the other.
Odin is well known for being fussy with cables, USB ports and other details, so don't panic if you get a failed Odin write or two. I also explained how to get around that in most cases.. leave Odin open on your PC screen and pull the phone battery again, go back to Odin mode on the phone and then press start on the Odin screen to try flashing a second time.

You are getting better with details (thanks) and I'm sure that this is frustrating to you. But you are nowhere near telling us step by step what you are doing. for a start, you didn't name the stock firmware image file that you were using, something that I specifically requested. So without meaning to offend you.. you aren't paying attention to details.
By "step by step", I meant a description of each step you took. For example listing each button you press in Odin.. telling us exactly what you type into each box and so forth. You may not see the point of that, but remember that we are not standing over your shoulder. And one wrong action can ruin your write. So that kind of step by step detail is extraordinarily valuable in troubleshooting.
Anyway, there are many ways to go about anything. Since you can get to download mode and your Knox bit is 0x1, I'd suggest installing or reinstalling TWRP, so that you can reliably boot to a stable recovery mode. From there you can look at almost anything, fix things, install custom ROMS, etc.
If you want to continue with Odin instead, then make sure that you are using a real stock .tar or .tar.md5 image, use a different USB cable and try again. If you are persistent, it will work.

The flash will inevitably succeed the second time, even though it failed at first.

any idea where i can get the PIT files for a metro s5?? i found the TAR file and used that in ODIN and it wont get past the metro splash screen. sits there for hours and gets REALLY hot. I tried doing a factory reset in recovery but it fails and reboots. Im hoping maybe a PIT file/repartition would do it i cant find a damn pit file anywhere. model number is G900T1. I used the stock firmware from the site below.
http://samsung-updates.com/details/26200/Galaxy_S5_SM-G900T1/SM-G900T1/TMB/G900T1UVU1ANCI.html
For future reference or anyone else reading this post. If you are running a stock ROM on a SM-G900T, even with root "memory low" alerts can be ignored becouse internal storage has a memory partition to act as emulated memory. In addition, android automatically unloads the oldest unused items from memory. I get these messages all the time, "internal memory usage exceeds maximum limit" or some such. They appear in the status bar without toasts, so their not too annoying. Yes you can clear a lot of stuff out with root,... But first understand your device AND what you intend to remove. If you don't understand it yet then leave it until you research it. Also, I recommend that you research your device before you buy it. I did, thats why my SM-G900T1 is a recent purchase, instead of going for the S6. Now if I could just find out how to root it without a computer when the kernel is dated Nov 10 2014.....
"The power of accurate observation is frequently called cynicism by those who don't have it."

Hello,
I am Complete New in Android Root etc... , I was a iPhone Jailbreaker which everything was mega easy with just some clicks. Now I got a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 "SH9005" on "Lollipop 5.0" Version.
I have Rooted it and using "Freedom" everything works fine and I thought that is everything what about "Rooting" is but I found out Yesterday that there are more Awesome things I can do with "Root" But I dont know how, I have watched many Videos but non of them works or I am Stupid to Understand it xD so I Joined this Awesome Community to look for Help, I am Sure someone know everything about it
I Need you guys Help for.
°How to Install "xposed framework"
°How to Install "Custom Recovery"
I have tryed to Install a Custom Recovery, but everytime I wanna go to Recovery Mode it shows me the Downloading Mode
My best advice for you is to Google "How to root Galaxy Note 3" and the same for "installing exposed" and "custom recovery" and read, read and then read some more. The info is there. Do your research or risk messing up your note 3.
Not trying to be difficult but you really need to do some research.
I have done many research but didnt found anything which is helpfull.
My Note 3 is Rooted (Lollipop 5.0) but the Custum recovery and the other I cant figuer
Out how to Install that, that wjy I am asking if anyone got a Idee
That's odd, when I Google how to install "custom recovery galaxy note 3" I get all kinds of info.
If you search Custom Recovery for Note 3 on Google, there will be lots of info you can find there.
For example, for the TWRP Recovery, there is a installation guide in the official website.
I am also a newbie in the Android World but I have try hard to Google first before asking questions.
Hope this helps.
Look at Youtube videos for how to flash custom recovery or eventually rom flashing etc. (ones with lots of likes). They are alot more visual and easy to follow. Sometimes some of the threads in XDA have confusing language.

How are you trying to start recovery? there are two key combinations for download mode and recovery mode, pwr + vol up + home is recovery mode, and pwr + vol down + home is download mode if I remember right. Give a try to both combinations and I hope it works. If your note 3 doesn't boot properly, you should try to repair it, first with kies and, if that doesn't work, flashing a new rom.
Probably you've flashed wrong file. Find the 1 with hlte 4.4. The latest is 2.8.7.0.

Hi!
I recommend you install CWM Recovery via Odin.
I think xposed framework isn't working.
Here, you can check it out, maybe has useful threads/posts

Hi all members of xda, sorry for my bad english, i will try to explain what exactly is happening with my phone.
I power it on, it`s vibrating and appear "Samsung Galaxy S5........POWERED by android", and that`s all, it continuously restarts itself until i remove the battery.
I can`t enter in recovery mode, it`s restarting from there continuously too... In download mode i can enter, and there at PRODUCT NAME it says is SM-G901F, but under the battery is SM-G900F.
In download Mode this is all what it says: "ODIN MODE (HIGH SPEED)
Product Name: SM-G901F
Current Binary: Samsung Official
System status: Custom
REACTIVATION LOCK: OFF
Knox Warranty Void: 0x0
Qualcomm Secureboot: ENABLE (CSB)
RP SWREV: S1, T1, R1, A1, P1
Secure Download: ENABLE
UDC START"
This is all.
So, i think that boy from who i bought the phone tryed to root it or flash it with another rom?
Can anyone help me please? Thank you.
What it says the model number is when in download mode is what needs to be believed. There seems to be a lot of this lately.....devices being marketed/sold as the more popular 900F variant when they are not.
You have to get the correct firmware from sammobile or samsung-updates and flash it with odin. I doubt it's the person who sold it to you as apparently nothing can change the info in download mode, and the sticker says something else. The seller may have tried to flash a 900F firmware, but that is probably all he's guilty of......
http://i.imgur.com/rVnFwJM.jpg
Thank you @keithross39, i flashed it but for the first time when he booted up, he passed the "Samsung Galaxy S5....Powered by android" screen, appeared T-Mobile and then he restarts again...and it don`t work yet....keeps restarting itself...
I have and printscreen with odin when it passed but i can`t put it, after 10 posts only.
So what can i do next? Any ideas? Some roms? Thanks.
Try accessing recovery now you have flashed (Vol up, home and power keys together) and wiping cache and/or wiping data/factory resetting.
http://i.imgur.com/rVnFwJM.jpg
@keithross39, appears in left up corner Recovery booting... but its restarting, doesn`t enter in recovery menu...
Can you tell me which version of Android you flashed?......
http://i.imgur.com/rVnFwJM.jpg
This one DTM-G901FXXU1BPA2-20160125170733 @keithross39
5.0.2 from Germany (T-Mobile).
Try flashing this........
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24399994186369572
It IS for the 901F, but it's what the hosting website calls a 'repair' firmware.
So it is supplied as separate files that have to be loaded into their corresponding 'slots' within Odin. I'm guessing it will be unbranded too. But being a repair firmware, it stands a better chance of successfully flashing and booting than a normal firmware.
http://i.imgur.com/rVnFwJM.jpg
Just finished to flash it and still keeps restarting, didn`t worked @keithross39
What about recovery now, can you access it and do the wipes?
http://i.imgur.com/rVnFwJM.jpg
No, keeps restarting... What if the owner accidently flashed rom for G901F but the phone model is G900F? It can be?
Download mode says 901F.....
AFAIK the info in download mode is hardcoded into the device and can't be changed.....
I can't see how it'd be any other variant....
http://i.imgur.com/rVnFwJM.jpg
Ok, so what i can do more? With box maybe it can be done? Or you don`t know @keithross39? I am very greatful for your time.
So far, everything you've tried would have put your device back to stock and wouldn't have affected knox.....
Knox is regularly used by Samsung to assess whether your device receives a warranty repair. As long as knox remains at 0x0 (as seen in download mode) your warranty is intact.....
Going custom is your only other option and that will trip knox and void your warranty. I can suggest how you can go custom, but it's up to you whether you want to torpedo your warranty when the ability to flash your device successfully is in question.
http://i.imgur.com/rVnFwJM.jpg
@keithross39 the warranty expired. If you say that custom rom will make it work, i say let`s try it...
Don't get me wrong fella....I'm not saying this WILL work.....
There is an element of risk whenever you attempt to modify a device. As I said, I can provide you the information that *should* set you along the correct path, but at the end of the day there are never any guarantees, and it's down to you whether you want to take the risk or not
http://i.imgur.com/rVnFwJM.jpg
Ok, i understand mate, i will take the risk, anyway what can go more wrong...
Lol....don't even *think* that sort of question, let alone type it on a public forum......
Ok....here goes, but first, the usual disclaimer....
"This information is provided for information only. Neither I, nor anybody else on XDA is liable if you choose to undertake the processes set out below. By choosing to complete the steps below, YOU are assuming responsibility for the working (or otherwise) condition of the device when the processes have been completed"......
Having said that, members of XDA will always voluntarily try to help you recover your device if things go wrong.
Get your TWRP from here.....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/development/recovery-team-win-recovery-project-t3110930
Get your SuperSU from here.....
https://download.chainfire.eu/696/supersu/
Follow these instructions.....
1) deactivate 'Reactivation Lock' (can be found under Security in Settings).
2) copy SuperSU zip to your device/external memory card.
3) boot into download mode.
4) Odin flash TWRP.
5) DO NOT allow phone to boot, (uncheck auto reboot in odin and if necessary remove the battery as soon as the TWRP flash has completed) then.....
6) boot directly into recovery. (Vol +, Power & Home button combination)
7) flash SuperSU zip.
You now have root and can flash your choice of custom rom for your device.
http://i.imgur.com/rVnFwJM.jpg
@keithross39, how can i make step 1? And i don`t know how to make step 2 neither... :-/
Step 1 can be (at least) checked by booting into download mode and reading the info on the screen. In your first post, your info showed that reactivation lock was off.....hopefully that hasn't changed.
Step 2 requires a micro SD card. You copy the SuperSU zip to that and put it into the phone.

Ok so the phone i have is/was actually a G935T, and had G935T firmware (BRC1) even though it says G935A on the board inside the phone. I tried to flash a different firmware, foolishly without turning off FRP, or turning on OEM, yeah im dumb. I ended up being stuck with the SBL error upload mode and couldnt even get back to download mode no matter how many times i tried, eventually i learned about EDL mode and took the phone apart and shorted the TP and re programmed the phone etc. and got it back to download mode.
Everything i flashed would always be successful in Odin, however nothing would ever boot past the looping S7 edge boot screen and recovery on every single firmware would also loop and ultimately give me kernel panic errors. i began to suspect that maybe i left something unplugged inside so i took it apart again and tried to keep the heat shield pressed down a bit more (since i had to open it up to access the test point) as i assembled the phone back together. No more kernel panics, but the boot looping was still present. I have tried G935T, A, P, V and U firmware and all of them do the same thing. Ive used the proper PIT files.
To make things worse, i flashed Oreo without realizing that i was putting my bootloader in handcuffs. To make things even MORE worse, i used a tool which claimed to convert an odin archive to be ADB enabled. now my device boots and says S7 edge etc, but then immediately goes to SBL error upload mode. Recovery still loops. Whats interesting though, is that since i used the converted archive, my device says exactly this in download mode:
ODIN MODE (HIGH SPEED)
PRODUCT NAME: SM-G935A
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Custom
FRP LOCK: ON
WARRANTY VOID: 0xffffffff (0x0)
QUALCOMM SECUREBOOT: ENABLE fffffffe
RP SWREV: B-2 (-2, -2, -2, -2, -2) K8 S8
RP SWREV: TEST DEVICE
SECURE DOWNLOAD: ENABLE
IDDQ: G(25), S(7) mA
CPU SERIAL NUM : 0X1b9cea13
Fused open loop voltage: 1030mv
RPMB PROVISIONED
Any help would be much appreciated. Its going on nearly a month now trying to get this thing to work. I dont care about warranty, i dont care about knox i just want my phone to work....i cannot find any information about test device, how to go back to system status official or how to properly reformat all partitions that effect FRP or whatever the hell is locking me out of it. Also i am now not even able to flash ANY firmware because it keeps failing saying something about aboot fused -2 and none of the firmware i have will successfully flash. Im stumped.
I called a repair shop today and they want to charge me $30.00 to flash it with what they have. That seems a bit high to be honest. Should only take about 10 minutes right?

Fuse -2 happened to my T380 Tab A tablet when I flashed wrong aboot and boot in the same TAR package.
So steps to fix it:
find the right combination firmware;
unzip it with 7zip archiver;
download TAR_MD5_PACKAGER;
open folder with unzipped comb_firmware and delete all files below from it:
-aboot,
-apdp,
-boot,
-devcfg,
-msadp,
-rpm,
-sbl1,
-tz.
copy all files what left to TAR_MD5_PACKAGER\parts;
start TAR_MD5_PACKAGER and press 1 to make tar file;
flash this file with Odin as AP;
now the fuse should switch to 1;
next flash the full combination file or stock firmware.
FUSE Number stands for software version,
samsung has protection against downgrading software,
So once you flashed firmware with number 2 in it, the device will change the fuse to 2 and after that
you will not able to flash anything less than with number 2 and so on.
S7 edge up and running
Dude thanks a lot!!! I read through multiple threads. Some more technical than others but this one was plain simple and it worked. Some of the files I deleted were a bit different, but hey, it got bit to work. One other thing for anyone experiencing the same issue, just look for a combination file matching your phones actual bootloader. Once you find it, just start deleting the files Odin is indicating are not letting the flash complete. In my case, files: hyp.mbn, pmic.elf, emmc_appsboot.mbn, xbl.elf. once I deleted those files I was golden.:laugh::laugh:
HI
I have smiliar problem.
I have a problem with a friend's phone. they give S7 Edge to the service because he have problem witch turn on telephone

I try update firmware with odin but when i flashing i have error: SV rev. check fail(bootloader) Device: -1 Binary: 6
I try to insert TWRP and i have next error: Custom binary (recovery) blocked By FAP lock
I can not insert custom recovery witch TWRP, and I don't have any idea what official rom was uploaded last time :/
Sorry for my English :/
