The "procedure" is a come-on to a paid service. Be open about this and just say you need to pay to get it done. It's quite obvious this is another way for someone to bypass XDA rules for linking to a paid service. As was said by a mod recently, if you put a donate link on that's another story. But this is not that in any way, shape or form.

If you say so. I should have just get my Pixel unlocked and start having fun flashing ROMs and root, leave the community blind in the dark instead of writing down everything I can. Shame that people only see this as a commercial purpose instead of digging out the tech part behind it.
I will delete my thread due to your complain.

Very community centric. It's a paid service and you've been called out. Prove it's not or admit it. If it's free and available to this community then I'll eat my words. Otherwise deleting the thread is your best post yet.

I'm serious but not in the way you think. I whole heartedly believe censorship is wrong. However we are kind of at the mercy of whomever owns the board we are posting on. I'm all for free speech as well as tolerance. But you can only have that between individuals on a personal neutral level. You can say anything you feel and it wont offend me. The moderators on the forum in charge of censoring are a different matter. If that makes sense.

Agreed but you and I both know the name of the game and that's moolah, cash, dollar dollar bill y'all. Facebook wants to sell ads. They can't sell ads to you if your on Google+, so they don't want anyone advertising it on their site. Its kind of incredible on Facebooks part. As if banning Google+ posts will make us all forget about it. Horrible PR decision on FBs part. But I'm also a fan of chaos and mutiny. So my view may or may not be reliable.

Funny enough being from the UK I don't recognise the US government, which means I don't recognise there laws, so therefore if this does get past I would recommend you move to a European host, and tell the US to go swivel. Tim Berners-Lee invented the internet (WWW), the Americans implemented it. however they certainly don't own the internet because of that, I think the US are over stepping there international boundaries with this idea, they have no right to this, hopefully this will stay in the US and everyone will just go international leaving the american internet dead.
the U need to stop protecting companies with outdated business model in the 21st century. Pirating will still happen as SOPA will only offline URLs not IP addresses, oddly enough i think Torrent users are quite aware of IP addresses... anyways...

Always have and always will, can't agree with you more. Hopefully their citizens can knock some common sense to their government
Hi, I would like to help stop this evil SOPA and PIPA but as a UK resident I cant do anything, this bill would change the internet as we know it, and is yet another restriction of our personal freedom. I hope that it doesn't get passed. Hope Ron Paul is successful too.
So there's a bounty thread for rooting the ATT MotoX. I figured we may as well start one for the VZW version. If the exploit works on both firmwares then hopefully this will be an added incentive to the Developer to invest his/her time in creating the exploit.
I do know that a well known developer is working on a root exploit for the Verizon MotoX and hope that a little more incentive will tip the scales in our favor of a release for the exploit sooner rather than later.
Conditions: root that survives a reboot.
Non-conditions: Let's keep this simple guys. The bounty is for an exploit that will give us root access on our MotoX. I am not going to update the OP with, "$20 if it is released by 10pm tonight," or other conditional/complicated offers.
When the exploit is published and proven to work - please be responsible and honor the commitment you made. I will update the OP with the PayPal address of the Developer who provides the exploit. If that violates the XDA TOS then the Developer can simply pop in and say, "Hi" with his PayPal link in his signature.
Let me know if I missed something as I am not a bounty thread guy normally.
@thepolishguy $25
@BackInA88 $20
@seanrobot $20
@ender255 $25
@JFMFT $15
TOTAL: $105
Okay - so a few people suggested that their be only one bounty thread to avoid confusion. The pledges made here in this thread are being added to the other bounty thread...

If the exploit works on both firmwares than we can all considered it a combined bounty. But I noticed a few guys were in the ATT thread wanting to donate towards Verizon. If it only works on one firmware or the other - it just seemed like more work to keep it all separated by carrier in one thread.

I'm 99.9% sure the exploit will work on both devices. So feel free to let your donation stand in the other thread so it won't get confusing for anyone. The only reason I started this thread was because the title of the other is "[Bounty] Root for ATT Blah Blah Blah" And I thought if there was a thread for the VZW MotoX we might raise a little bit more money to make it worth the Developers wild.

That's great news. Now we just need him to successfully release the exploit. Sometimes a developer may not feel like "burning" an exploit (in other words if he releases it now it will get patched in the near future) if there's not enough interested parties in the community. So let's show the Devs that we are interested.

Seeing as though the root will work for both devices, do you want me to just take the pledges from this thread and add them to the other bounty? I can handle all the PMs and keeping track of who paid what. This thread can then be closed to avoid confusion.

I know that this was posted before and moved to the ATT section but there is no one in that forum and this should be helpful for devs for the phone in general. I wish I was a coder/hacker so I could do this myself but I can't. The positive thing is that we have a bunch of folks willing to pay for someone who can. This helps devs regardless of whether they are ATT or other variants as I am sure they would like to get some money. The bounty looks to be over $500+ just by quick estimations.

Sent from my ONE A2003 using XDA-Developers mobile app
Coming from the LG G3, I'd say it is incredibly difficult to do this if possible at all. There are a lot of frameworks that LG uses as co dependencies to get it to work, not a lot of custom ROM even supported the camera properly. Also their UI packages aren't open source.
