So there's a bounty thread for rooting the ATT MotoX. I figured we may as well start one for the VZW version. If the exploit works on both firmwares then hopefully this will be an added incentive to the Developer to invest his/her time in creating the exploit.
I do know that a well known developer is working on a root exploit for the Verizon MotoX and hope that a little more incentive will tip the scales in our favor of a release for the exploit sooner rather than later.
Conditions: root that survives a reboot.
Non-conditions: Let's keep this simple guys. The bounty is for an exploit that will give us root access on our MotoX. I am not going to update the OP with, "$20 if it is released by 10pm tonight," or other conditional/complicated offers.
When the exploit is published and proven to work - please be responsible and honor the commitment you made. I will update the OP with the PayPal address of the Developer who provides the exploit. If that violates the XDA TOS then the Developer can simply pop in and say, "Hi" with his PayPal link in his signature.
Let me know if I missed something as I am not a bounty thread guy normally.
@thepolishguy $25
@BackInA88 $20
@seanrobot $20
@ender255 $25
@JFMFT $15
TOTAL: $105
Okay - so a few people suggested that their be only one bounty thread to avoid confusion. The pledges made here in this thread are being added to the other bounty thread...

If the exploit works on both firmwares than we can all considered it a combined bounty. But I noticed a few guys were in the ATT thread wanting to donate towards Verizon. If it only works on one firmware or the other - it just seemed like more work to keep it all separated by carrier in one thread.

I'm 99.9% sure the exploit will work on both devices. So feel free to let your donation stand in the other thread so it won't get confusing for anyone. The only reason I started this thread was because the title of the other is "[Bounty] Root for ATT Blah Blah Blah" And I thought if there was a thread for the VZW MotoX we might raise a little bit more money to make it worth the Developers wild.

That's great news. Now we just need him to successfully release the exploit. Sometimes a developer may not feel like "burning" an exploit (in other words if he releases it now it will get patched in the near future) if there's not enough interested parties in the community. So let's show the Devs that we are interested.

Simple Question. Would you donate $10 or so to fund the purchase of an Epic for a willing Dev? As far as I know it's feasible (Correct me if I'm wrong), we just need someone with a Epic who knows how and wants to do it.
Anyway, the objective here is to create a list of people willing to donate. We'll see if it's enough to interest someone.
So who's in?
Committed:
ipaq3115 - $10
sporkisfaster - $10+
Bohiti - $10
Neptune5k - $5-10
mttallaczach $20
sauron0101
mxcoldhit
spongaweb $15
viper134 $5
If the big guy does it himself
Pito2k6 $100
Note: I'm thinking, find a trusted dev (preferably from the CM team) and once they've committed, send mulah through paypal
Clarification: The idea is donate enough that someone from the CM team can buy an Epic and work on it.
I'm willing to donate $10 or more depending on other people's willingness.

Mainly that it uses the AOSP stuff. Much more of a vanilla feel to it with a lot more integral features than current roms can offer because of the current code available (or lack thereof).
Not really no. I'm very happy with the TouchWiz interface and I need my 4G radio working.

It definitely couldn't hurt. Try to be positive, it seems like we're at a low point in morale here on the boards and development. Maybe this is what we need to get it going again.

I would donate directly to the guy himself, if he posted himself saying he's going to take charge and actually do it.

Yeah, mainly cause CyanogenMod is legendary
But really, it's like pure android like what the nexus phones have. No carrier bloat. Since the days of the G1 it's been the fastest. The little things he adds just make it that much more awesome.

I wouldn't expect anything back from the dev. Other than the promise to get an Epic and attempt it. It is a donation, not like paying someone for the service.

I would donate $100 if Cyanogen himself says he will develop for our Epic.
I would pay $10 if we knew that it would definitely lead to cyanogen mod. Who knows if we will ever get gingerbread on this phone, much less honeycomb.
I belive the best way to get vanilla android on your phone is just to wait a little longer. The Nexus S has practically the same specs as the epic plus there is even a rumored CDMA device coming. I don't think we are very far from Vanilla Gingerbread Phone.
As far as Cyanogen is concerned, no I'm not interested in donating to buy him an Epic.
I would be willing to contribute $5-10 as well.
Whoops, wrong button. Silly xda app

Hello everyone! Today I am here to start a bounty thread to get Scott aka scrosler a Galaxy Note 10.1! For those who aren't familiar with Scott or his roms, he is the developer of 'CleanROM'. A fast, reliable rom based on stock that is constantly maintained by Scott himself! I personally run CleanROM on my Verizon Galaxy S3 and love it so much that CleanROM should also be on my new toy, the Galaxy Note 10.1!
NOTE: Scott will be receiving the N8013 variant of this tablet!
To get a sense of his development with other devices, head over to his official website: http://www.scottsroms.com/content.php
To donate, head over to Scott's Paypal in the link below and post the Unique Transaction ID AND how much you donated in the post so I can keep track at how much we raised.
ALL donors will be listed in the OP with specifics for organization purposes!
Bounty Goal:
Raise up to $500 for Scott to receive a 16 GB Galaxy Note 10.1 with a color of his choice.

Stupid question. He just stopped supporting the TF700 so he could focus on the N10. Why would he be interested in the Note? And if he was, why couldn't the same thing happen to the Note that happened to his support of the TF700 too? Scott's great and I've used his stuff since the WinMo days but buying a device for a dev with limited time doesn't guarantee their support. Has Scott himself made any type of commitment to the Note or is this a Field of Dreams "build it and they will come?"

I asked him if it was possible to support the Note 10.1. He said it's not too hard to make a rom. He even suggested to me to start a donation thread (which I obviously have) so he can support it and he said that 'he'll be all over it.' Here's what he said to me regarding devices he receives by donations: "I can only buy these fun toys with the donations I get from the community. Sadly I am not rich and rely on donations to update to the latest and greatest!"
So my guess is that the majority of devices he supports and develops are from donations anyway. I own two devices that he currently develops for (VZW S3 and Nexus 7) and they both are heavily supported by him. I would also assume that he'd support the Note 10.1 just as much.

I know that this was posted before and moved to the ATT section but there is no one in that forum and this should be helpful for devs for the phone in general. I wish I was a coder/hacker so I could do this myself but I can't. The positive thing is that we have a bunch of folks willing to pay for someone who can. This helps devs regardless of whether they are ATT or other variants as I am sure they would like to get some money. The bounty looks to be over $500+ just by quick estimations.

The "procedure" is a come-on to a paid service. Be open about this and just say you need to pay to get it done. It's quite obvious this is another way for someone to bypass XDA rules for linking to a paid service. As was said by a mod recently, if you put a donate link on that's another story. But this is not that in any way, shape or form.
