Hi, I was listening to my music through my pc via the 3.5mm line out and one of my mates phones me, of course i thought it was boss when I could hear him through my speakers but was a bit gutted that when i use my line out it disables the mic on the phone. Anyway to fix it so it doesn't disable the mic?
Thanks for any help,
Luke.
This is what i use

All the info on there - the main thing is if a call comes in whilst listening to music theres nothing to disconnect!!

Nope u have to use a mic and a earphone to get it work , standalone earphone will not work with the builtin mic else u will have to take out the plug from jack to get both working on the device.
Dear All,
I can listen to my podcasts from my 8525 by hooking up to my car stereo via a HTC connector to 3.5mm jack. A problem though is the fact that on an incoming call, I can hear ringer through car stereo but when I pick up, caller cannot hear me speak to them.
Can I possibly install some software or hack the adaptor so that the 8525 internal microphone keeps working even though there is the connector present at the bottom of the device?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I just want to know, if you plug in a normal headphones (normal one, without mic, only stereo speakers) to the HD 3.5mm audio jack, does the internal mic in the HD still work?
Can you still answer phone calls without unplugging the headphones?
Does the headphones disable the internal mic?
The reason I ask is because I would like to know if I hook up the HD to the car aux input, will it work without adding an extra external microphone.
Thanks guys for helping answering this questions.

No, the mic works. The phone also rings when the headphones are plugged into it.
That's right. The microphone still work. I've been using wired headset to make calls. If it does't work, it would'nt have been possible to make such phone calls.
Thats nice to hear. But from how far away the microphone catches sounds?. If i use my stereo headphones, will the microphone be boosted, like in the speaker mode, when it can catch the voice even from the table, couple feet away?
It works Great in my car, i put it on myside [beside the GEAR]. but car speakers volume should not be very loud.
Hi, I noticed that while I'm on my headphone (regular earphone without mic) listening to music,
the microphone is disabled, (the built in microphone on the bottom of the phone)
for example on iphone if regular earphone is plugged in, when calling someone or on incoming calls, the person can talk via builtin mic.
is there a way to activate the mic?
edit,
looks like known issue among all androids

I just got my Nexus 6P and the very first time I plugged in my SMS BioSport earbuds to the headphone jack, Android popped up a settings page that had bluetooth headphone controls enabled and headphone jack headphone controls disabled. I enabled the headphone jack headphone controls thinking it might need it for the HRM and certainly would for answering calls. Android warned me that this might allow someone to gain control of the phone through the headphone jack, but I figured I could just turn it off later.
BTW I never got the SMS BioSport HRM to work with Runkeeper on the 6P. (It had worked on my previous phone, a Galaxy Note II.)
I would now like to disable the headphone jack headphone controls, but I can't figure out how to get to the page. How does one navigate to the Android Settings page where the bluetooth and headphone jack headphone controls are enabled/disabled?
