So after having my HTC Incredible for years and never having a problem rooting and installing custom roms, I recently purchased an LG G2 from Verizon and have had nothing but problems getting a custom rom on it. I am currently trying to install Malladus and have been through multiple writeups for rooting, installing TWRP and flashing a new ROM. Everything seems fine until I'm in TWRP and have finished the install of Malladus,LG apps and gaps when it says "your device does not appear to be rooted. install supersu now?" I am rooted and have confirmed it in IOroot and Flashify before attempting anything. It then hangs on the LG boot screen indefinitely (I fell asleep and it was still there when I woke up) I managed to use Flash tool to get back to stock and read through everything again to make sure I was doing things right and then tried again. No difference, I"m stuck on the LG boot screen again. I read up on others having this problem and found nothing of any real value besides conjecture and "I tried again and it worked".
I always try to figure this kind of thing out by myself and hate not being able to do it this time but I'm at my wits end. I'll list my process below and any help would be greatly appreciated.
(I was on the OTA when I tried this process first and on the shipping version when I tried it the second)
1. Used IOroot to root the phone using this video a video I'm not allowed to link (search How to root your LG G2 by zetatango, Root was verified like in video)
2. Installed Flashify and put TWRP image in download folder and flashed it (Malladus, LGapps and gapps were placed in download folder as well), after it was finished booted into TWRP with no issues
3. In TWRP did thier standard wipe (not advanced) and then installed Malladus, LGapps and gapps
4. TWRP informs me of this "your device does not appear to be rooted. install supersu now?" On my first try I clicked yes on second I hit no to the same outcome
5. Stuck at LG boot screen and now have to go through process of using Flashtool to get stock again.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Hi all,
Let me try to walk you through everything that I've done to try and get some help here.
I have an lg g2 sprint (lg-ls980)
1. When I got it I first upgraded to android 4.4.2
2. Then I rooted using stump root
3. I installed xposed and a few xposed modules....I then decided Id rather have a different rom, so
4. I used autorec (which to my understanding changed my kernel in order to workaround boot loader and install twrp? is that accurate?)
5. Booted to twrp, wiped data and installed cyanogenmod and gapps
After this I get stuck and can't boot past the lg logo, so I booted back to recovery and restored my backup. So I did the same and tried pacrom this time with the same results.
I then decided that if I'm going to be stuck with stock rom I at least want my knock on back, so I flashed the patched kernel and same thing- stuck at lg logo....
I know I downloaded the correct zip files and placed them on the root, and always wiped before flashing.
Then I went into download mode on the lg support tool to try to get back to factory, but it says my firmware and recovery is up to date. The odd thing is that the lg support tool shows my phone as ls740 rather than ls980... is this because of something that autorec changed? Do I need to download zip files for ls740 instead? So confused..
About phone in my g2s settings shows android version 4.4.2 and kernel version 3.4.0
Anyways, if anyone could help me to successfully get one of these roms to flash and get back to the kernel that supports the knock code I would really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance!
I've been having issues with my phone, and I'm not sure if this is a HW issue or not, but no matter what I do, either I lose recovery or get a security error. I poked around and found some instructions in the CloudyG3 thread. They're for 3.0 but I would guess 3.3 wouldn't be different enough to brick this thing. Can't remember who the quote is from, I just copy/pasted it, but here it is:
Some of you sent me a PM asking for the install instructions on D800 and this is how you install CloudyG2 3.0:
Downloads:
1. Download CloudyG2 3.0 - https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95897840722646001
2. Download Patch - https://mega.co.nz/#!sVY0mRTb!qn7S9B...3m_QpMQkgzunn0
3. Download Signal Patch - https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...l_Variants.zip
4. Download LP Baseband - http://blastagator.ddns.net/modem.php - d800-30f-modem-blastagator-signed.zip
5. Download KK Bootstack - http://blastagator.ddns.net/bootloader.php - bootstack-d800-KK_20c-blastagator-signed.zip
6. Optional: Download JB Bootstack in case if you want to revert the installation process and go back to your current ROM - http://blastagator.ddns.net/bootloader.php - bootstack-d800-JB_10d-blastagator-signed.zip
Flashing Process:
1. Backup the existing ROM (including EFS, Modem, etc.) in TWRP - very important and copy it over to the computer, just in case!
2. Wipe System + Data + Cache + Dalvik Cache - Do NOT select internal storage as it contains all your downloaded files + backups!
3. Flash KK Bootstack (downloaded from Step 5)
4. Flash LP Baseband (downloaded from Step 4)
5. Flash CloudyG2 3.0 (downloaded from Step 1) - Leave the default in Aroma when you have to pick the variant. Do NOT reboot the device as the patch installation (next Step) is very important.
6. Flash Patch (dowloaded from Step 2) - Select your variant.
7. Flash Signal Patch (downloaded from Step 3)
8. Reboot
Enjoy!

I'm guessing I have the incorrect files, most of the links I found in the thread with these instructions didn't seem to work so I Googled for them, maybe I don't even have the correct files. I took a screenshot in cmd of the exact filesizes.
Any help would be greatly appriciated!

Coming off a fresh TOT flash, I root with towelroot, flash TWRP using AutoRec, flash bootloader, then flashed Cloudy. It will boot at first, but then I run into "black screen of death" or security errors or when trying to boot to recovery, I'll run into similar issues. Does Blastagator's TWRP make the difference here?

I had the exact problem happen to me ....... I got the black screen of death .... phone wouldnt boot ....... and when i used the kk bootloader i would lose recovery ..... I was coming from kk to CloudyG2 ....
This is how i solved.
1. Flashed back to stock, stumproot to root Autorec v1 for bootloader
2. used Flashify to upgrade to 2.8.7.1 ( its now 2.8.7.3)
3. Downloaded n used bumpted LP bootstack and flashed blastagator stripped rom (its in flashable zip and installs everythin including modem .... patches etc EVERYTHING) http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-g2/development/rom-stock-lollipop-30b-stripped-t3144195
4. Downloaded kk bootstack , CloudyG2 3.3 and clean flashed in recovery
I have been enjoying Cloudy ever since ...... D800
Thanks all, got it running! Cloudyfa has done some absolutely brilliant work here with this ROM, as well as xdabbeb with the advanced camera driver and xCam. I'm usually a vanilla-or-nothing guy with my Android ROMs but this one is quick and power efficient. The KitKat ROM that shipped with the phone was super bloated and gross, but I'll admit LG UX 4.0 isn't really that offensive, plus I like the goodies like Multi-Window and QuickRemote. Once I disabled/hid some of the remaining LG bloat, it's surprisingly pleasant and not really that far from AOSP aesthetically. Again, cheers to those who provided the assist on this one for me!
... now my only question is, should I try CloudyG3?
This is my first post, so I want to say "Hello" for everybody!
I need Your help. I bought a month ago smartphone LG G2 in korean version F320S. Now, I want install new soft CloudyG3 3.3 on my phone. But i can't update it to Android 5..It "says", android is newest. But it's stupid, i have KitKat on phone, and in net wrote, newest is Lollipop. When i trying installing Cloudy on KitKat, it write that file with CloudyRom is broken (i downloaded it two times). If i could download stock ROM from net, there isn't any problem, but link to stock soft on XDA for my version on F320S are "dead". For F320K and F320L are good, for my F320S isn't work. Can anyone will be so good and share with me an active link to my stock Lollipop firmware? Or will put it in share hosting, like a rapidshare.com or similar?
Well, don't install stock Lollipop, you don't need it in order to install Cloudy.
Assuming that you are on stock KitKat, unrooted - follow these steps:
1) Enable USB debugging and root the phone using DP tools
2) Find KitKat Autorec for F320S and blastagator TWRP 3.0.2-0 - copy the files to the phone, install and run Autorec like a normal app - if everything is successful it will boot TWRP 2.7 for you.
3) When you are in recovery mode - install TWRP 3.0.2-0, reboot the recovery.
4) Make a backup of the EFS and copy it to your computer, just in case.
5) Highly recommended - wipe data, cache, system, internal storage and reboot the recovery.
6) Copy the Cloudy ROM and the hybrid bootstack for F320S to your device and install them.
You're all set. It shouldn't take you more than 15 minutes.
Hi guys,
Im trying for week to install Cloudy G2 3.3 on my korean F320L model.
I was trying almost everything and all i do was to brick my phone dozen times.
So now i want someone to help me a bit.
What i tried?
1. Lollipop. I updated my stock JB room to Lollipop and then wanted to install This TWRP (f320l_lollipop.apk) but it was not working.
Everytime i was able to see an Android with open stomach and red triangle instead of TWRP. But if i install any other version of TWRP like for f320k or sth i wasnt able to install anything on it, cause my phone was crashing over and over. So i started for looking some other ways to install Cloudy G2.
2. KitKat. I updated stock JB android to KK 4.4. Then after Rooting phone i was able to install this TWRP (f320l_AutoRec.apk ) and go to recovery mode.
But the next step in All guides was to install blastgator from dorimanx and i choosed f320 version and install it. But after reebot to recovery nothing happens just black screen.
So i tried other version but everytime i failed.
Now im totally lost.
Can someone who runs Cloudy G2 3.3 on his korean LG G2 F320l how to do it?
What system i need. Witch TWRP install, Witch blastgator and what next.
Thanks in ADVANCE!
