If you have reset button (hole accessible by needle):
Press and hold until you see the button lights blinking
Release and press again...holding it until you see marshmallow logo....release and wait for recovery
If it didn't succeed use the same method but with your power knob button

I have searched the forum and tried several methods to enter into recovery with MTCD units but for the moment I have not tried one that works . *1. turn off a radio power
*2. Press "reset" button all time
*3. Turn on radio power, after 1-2 sec, release "reset" button immediately, then click reset button quickly again shortly, then wait*
4. after 0.5-1 min, you will see page the update

If you can't power off your unit....I suggest you to extract the radio from dash to ensure your radio is not connected (acc off and batt off)

my recovery is intact and completely functional i dont know where the hell my download mode is ?!

but i still can get in download/recovery mode so i guess its not completly broken but when my phone is booted it does nothing at all
i already tried the following things
-switched the screen module
-switched the docking module
-flashed it from 4.4.2 to 4.3
nothing of the above worked so if any of you guys have a solution im pleased to hear

Try to enter recovery/download by pressing only power+volume (don't push home button). If you sucess, it means home button is permanently pushed (broken), so it only will send on signal while first seconds after switch device on (and so while entering in recovery/download mode).

I know Samsung mentions pressing the power button, but I don't believe entering recovery mode is a good test. My home button works perfectly and I can access recovery without pressing the home button.

I had the same problem and found a solution.
I installed SlimKat Rom (perfect battery life) which is on KitKat.
And in the settings, i found an option to do it.
I assigned the menu button as a home key, like this:
1 tap=home
Double tap=app switcher
and long press=the default of the button which is menu.
Hope it helps, it sure did for me.

this actually works so i guess its completly broken? also my screen keeps popping on when its locked but when i unlock it is completly normal except the button not working
any chance that the motherboard is damaged in someway?

Not really sure, sorry, as the mate above wrote, I forgot there are some s4 devices which can enter recovery/download by pressing only pwr and volume (not mine which three buttons are needed), so not sure at all...

If anyone have a bootloop started after installing any kernel you should do this sequence:
In a bootloop start.. Press power button and then the down volum button. The phone turns off.
Now, start into recovery mode (power and down volume)
Select Start.
You have resolved the problem.

I'm guessing that the problem has something to do with ext3 or ext4 filesystem flags. I think that maybe CyanogenMod does not allow to start a system flagged with filesystem errors, which is what happens after a general kernel panic.
Maybe we should report this bug to any proper CyanogenMod developer.
It's used to working. But right now not any more and I don't have any clue.
It's can enter TWRP via adb and everything work like normal.
But when I using combination key to do this. It's just struck there at mi logo for hours if I let it.
I can enter fastboot normally.

Try to power off your phone and press volver+, vol- and power at the same time until mi logo appears. Then release allí buttons

Hello, I bought an Eunavi Navigation with Android 6 for my car from Aliexpress. Recently I had some software problems with it, so I decided to contact the seller for instructions on how to update to a newer version of Android. He sent me some an update to Android 7.1 and a new update for the MCU ( whatever that is). After I updated to Android 7.1 the unit gets stucked on loading screen. Basically, I cant do anything. The only solution, I think, is to update again from the recovery menu, but I don't know to enter in Recovery Menu.
Do you guys know how to go there? Is there any button combination I need to press?
