[Q] Installed L7 kdz file on my L5

Well guys, this was the stupidest thing I've done in my life. I was downgrading my L5 with CM10.1 to LG stock rom and by mistake, in KDZ Updater I choose a rom that I had for my L7.
My L5 works, but it only appears a screen with some vertical and horizontal stripes. When I turn it on, it vibrates and does the LG sound.
What can I do now? :crying:

Dowload mode is working? so you can flash a L5 version of ICS/JB

No, I can't even get to the download mode. I push the + and the - button with the power button, but nothing happens..

Push the volume buttons down together (no power button), then plug into your USB. It should enter download mode

Nop, nothing... on my computer it only appears "LGE Android Net MTP Device"

Sometimes it's not just volumen - while connecting to usb
Try keeping down volume + and volume - to enter download mode WHILE connecting usb cable, sometimes work

take the battery out, then press and hold volume+ button, and then connect to pc while holding volume+. Hope this was helpfull.

Still nothing. I've tried everything you guys said...
Edit:: I did it. I took out the battery and then pressed the + button while connecting the USB cable. Thank's!

Now I'm getting a "Model DLL MSG Not Found" when trying to install a L5 kdz with KDZ Updater. I've reinstalled the MSXML but still nothing.

try this!
power + home + vol- (for 2 sec)
u will be in download mode
recovery(only on original bootloader)
power + home + vol+ (for 2 sec)

i have same problem and its nearly imposible to fix.i send it to warranty and they replace all phone

Try to start in emergency mod.
With the battery off and vol down connect to the pc. See if start on emergency mode. Can t remember if it vol down, try up too

The solution was volume down key and put the USB cable to enter in recovery mode. It worked and I flashed the proper ROM

Power button does not work

My friends SGY also having this problem (power button not responding) when it was with Evo 4.2 with Percy kernel and power button also stopped responding
Then I tried pressing volume + home + power button while it was rebooting and it booted to recovery so I wiped both cache and data and rebooted but my rebooting issue was not resolved
There after I tried many times pressing combination buttons and to my surprise it was booting to recovery or download mode depending on volume key I used
It was indication that power button was working but after rebooting it was not working.
Now I flashed stock firmware and rebooting issue is resolved but still power button is not responding after reboot but it is allowing mobile to come to recovery or download mode
Is it a hardware issue which I doubt because it is responding before booting
Or what else can cause it and any suggestions for this

Flash stock firmware again or change the button, it cost about 7$

I already changed to stock firmware but of no much help
I am confused because power button is working correctly in combination with home and volume buttons to go to recovery / download mode

i think ai can be a hardware problem like youur power button is working partially bu not competely
it is better u get it checked by some professional instead of wasting more time

You better go to a service center...!
As this is a hardware problem...!

[Q] Home button not working

Hello there,
I have a Galaxy S4 (I9505) with a home button that doesnt work
but i still can get in download/recovery mode so i guess its not completly broken but when my phone is booted it does nothing at all
i already tried the following things
-switched the screen module
-switched the docking module
-flashed it from 4.4.2 to 4.3
nothing of the above worked so if any of you guys have a solution im pleased to hear

Try to enter recovery/download by pressing only power+volume (don't push home button). If you sucess, it means home button is permanently pushed (broken), so it only will send on signal while first seconds after switch device on (and so while entering in recovery/download mode).

I know Samsung mentions pressing the power button, but I don't believe entering recovery mode is a good test. My home button works perfectly and I can access recovery without pressing the home button.

I had the same problem and found a solution.
I installed SlimKat Rom (perfect battery life) which is on KitKat.
And in the settings, i found an option to do it.
I assigned the menu button as a home key, like this:
1 tap=home
Double tap=app switcher
and long press=the default of the button which is menu.
Hope it helps, it sure did for me.

this actually works so i guess its completly broken? also my screen keeps popping on when its locked but when i unlock it is completly normal except the button not working
any chance that the motherboard is damaged in someway?

Not really sure, sorry, as the mate above wrote, I forgot there are some s4 devices which can enter recovery/download by pressing only pwr and volume (not mine which three buttons are needed), so not sure at all...

I don't think so.No matter how greedy or paranoid a developer is they have to include a recovery mode in order to flash OTAs and do stuff when the phone is offline.

I got the clue, you have to do it twice !
Take a look at this tutorial Nokia 6 fix no command
First, you have to plug in a usb cable (of a charger) to the phone and quickly press Vol + and power button to get into the Download mode. Then again press Vol + and power button AND (most important all) press the HOME button, then you will get the Recovery menu !
