Hello all.
Recently got the Nokia 6. Liking it so far.
The gboard is very slow loading the emoticons thoug.
Anyhow, I digress.
I am wondering if there is a way I can root my phone?
I am running Android 7.1.1TA-1021
I want to switch the back and resent apps touching area.
We all want root, it's just not possible without an infinity box yet... We also don't have a running version of TWRP...
Alright. Thanks. So, to root for now we need patience..?

Hello
I've been using rooted official Rom
1-I find it pleasing enough but I want to upgrade ... should I do it? what new features am I going to get besides the looks
2-the only reason I rooted my device is to be able to use multi windows on all apps... does nougat have that feature or will I have to re root my device? it's has been really hard for me to get this this before.
also I've been crazy with my previous phones ( Note 3 and Note 1 and Nokia N8) with Roms... but i didn't try them on S7 because I want the security of the samsung online features and the ability to find my phone and if it's wiped everything is wiped
thank you
up
I am getting Galaxy S7.
So it will be totally new phone. This means that I intend to factory reset and no worries about data loss, new phone. This should make the question easier to answer.
I considered:
Keeping Marshmallow
Updating to Nougat
Updating to new Oreo which is just released to S7
Requirements:
Maximum compatibility with permanent root with no issues
Maximum compatibility with xposed
Maximum compatibility with various xposed modules
Ability to have BLACK everything I want absolutely no white menus anywhere.
I am coming from Kitkat. If I had my way I would keep KitKat, unfortunately KitKat 4.4.2 is not available for S7.
One only real benefit I see besides super slowing down my device on the new versions, is that Nougat and up I believe has a blue light filter integrated? It would be super cool because this is an important feature. Currently I use Twilight blue light overlay, but if I could have a native filter (like f.lux for PC) it would hugely improve my user experience.
Maybe I will like newer features, but maybe not. I usually DISABLE tons of stuff including:
Disable fingerprint
Disable updates
Disable face recognize
etc, I don't want any of that invasive junk.
I also don't use Samsung Pay or any other junk.
I like maximum control over my device and I hate white and have to have all menus black. I did learn some newer versions of android OS actually have theming engines included where I can turn everything black, that will be very great for me. White menus physically hurt my eyes especially at night. It's painful to me and causes red eyes. So I must have all black menus.
I don't want any problems especially not audio or gps etc problems and I never want to enable fine location.
So I wondered if you know which is the best OS to use to meet my requirements with best root and xposed compatibility and no problems. Marshmallow, Nougat, or Oreo and what version?
Additionally, I am also open to any recommended custom ROM, if you have any suggestion.
In further reading of threads I am getting worried. About to cancel my order and get refunded and give up on getting an S7 and just keeping my S5.
The reason I'm getting worried is because I am reading that US versions with Snapdragon processor G930V has a locked bootloader. I am unclear if I can root or not.
Advice would be helpful as I only just ordered and I am about to click cancel order.

From what I have read, you can root a G930V on Marshmallow and Nougat but not on the new Oreo build.
This guide is for Marshmallow:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ve...-to-notes-root-install-xposed-unroot-t3411039
And I believe this one is for Nougat:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s7/how-to/how-rooted-s7-nougatand-fixed-lag-t3576393
But no TWRP or typical custom recoveries. Only flashfire and modified stock ROMs. I think I read that Xposed worked on Marshmallow but not Nougat. Not certain on that though.

Well my S5 does have a custom recovery but is on stock rom, got full root when I downgraded to KitKat.
Thanks for letting me know it will probably be the same procedure. I did order it now. Going to try it. Hopefully, it works with full root,
Which OS+root is better, rooted Nougat or rooted Marshmallow (considering potential bugs)?
I think Nougat has a blue light filter built-in, is that right?
It may be a matter of opinion but I am open to hearing your opinions.
I received the phone today. It has this OS version G930VVRS4BRA1 which is 7.0 android I received the phone today. It has this OS version G930VVRS4BRA1
I don't know if I should change the OS or update OS or what or do for sure to be rooted
Hi everyone!
My wife has a J3 and it keeps telling her there is not enough room to update apps. She only has a couple installed besides the Samsung bloatware, and used an sd-card for pretty much anything else.
I've rooted my own Huawei mate 9, but I would love to find a simpler solution to keep her phone from possibly not receiving any updates or risk me bricking it...
Is there a simpler solution to delete her bloatware or move those apps to the sd-card without root?
(And if not, what is the most easy noobproof rootguide? )
Thanks!
Hi guys,
It's my first time posting on here, and I could really use some help. I recently updated my s8 to Android Pie (worst mistake ever) and now I really want to downgrade. The problem which I think I have is, my build number is G950FXXS5DSF1. As far as I can tell, there is no way for me to downgrade because the Binary Code has to be the same? (5). I hope to God i'm wrong, but I would really appreciate it if there is some alternative. Again, i'm new to this so you have to dumb it down for me if there is a way to downgrade, but thanks to anyone who can help!
Edit: is there anyway I can go back to a previous version of Pie and then downgrade from there, or am I stuck?
Unfortunately u can't go back anymore as your bootloader as u said yourself has been updated to v5 ,earlier pie versions has been on v4 as well oreo firmware so people could downgrade back to it.
So you are stuck on pie forever
I like one ui a lot
Thanks for the reply!
Yeah I thought as much, I think the mistake I made was updating the security patch to June 2019 when I downloaded Pie. I didn't know about the whole binary number etc until yesterday when I spent time trying to figure out a way back to Oreo haha!
Oh well, I suppose such is life, Pie isn't all bad (I genuinely was excited about it at first), just a bit of a drainer on battery life and the camera i'm not too happy with- it doesn't automatically focus anymore. Hopefully Samsung rectify this, I love Android just wish sometimes they didn't change things so much haha!
hey there,
just a quick recap:
The phone is still on Android 7.1.1, I"ve got a script with ADB from 7to Forum through 4pda.to, got the custom TWRP working, but after getting root through flashing magisk, it got stuck on boot. After I got the official 7.1.1 zip, it is back on official recovery and I gave up... (Link to 4pda, which I got my inital files from - it is a link to google translate, so you could read, what it is all about
The forum here on xda-developers for Nokia 5 is really messed up and there is no real guide or any help which could help me out, I don"t know any valid source of official ROMs, there are no tools - nothing.
I planned to get on Android 9 with ROOT through MAGISK, so I"ve got a unlocked bootloader and wanted just update to Android 9, so I could install MAGISK through TWRP.
but none of that worked, I got only the unlocked Bootloader....
maybe someone could please help, I just don"t know where to start now - I have some knowledge about Android, because every single smartphone of mine got rooted (HTC EVO 3D, SAMSUNG S5, HTC MI8), as I love AdAway and Viper4Android, but this phone for a family member got me started..... This phone is brand new, never used, got it from the grandmother of my girlfriend, wanted to get it to work and give it to someone else in need of a smartphone, but I got stuck...
Thanks it advance
I've managed to update it to pie, with some obscure errors, but it works flawlessly, but I'm on 6.12 now, want to update it to 6.19, but it doesn't work through the recovery, but I'm on it.
Maybe I will write a little tutorial after all, for someone, who has also those problems like me - it is getting harder and harder to get things done on older devices...
