Hi
I have a samsung galaxy s8 SM-G950U I bought from AT&T and got it career unlocked by AT&T. I am not getting OTA updates since I unlocked it in April 2017. My phone details are as below. I contacted AT&T and samsung both of them were of no help in updating the device to latest version as I unlocked the device and no longer with AT&T. Can someone please suggest which rom/firmware to flash so that I get OTA updates directly from Samsung rather than depending on any career. I am currently using TMobile sim card in my unlocked at&t s8 by the way.
Model number: SM-G950U
Android Version: 7.0
Android Security Patch level: April 1, 2017
Baseband Version: G950USQU1AQDE
Kernel version: 4.4.16-11131491 [email protected] #1 Thu Apr 27 15:45:09 KST 2017
Build number: NRD90M.G950USQU1AQDE
Can someone please suggest me a stock rom to flash using ODIN so that I get OTA updates?
Thanks
If you want att fw, the QF7 fw has been posted here (search my posts). There's an update after that that'll come OTA after install.
If you want unlocked go to updato.com and search for g950u1 fw. XAA is the no carrier bloat version you want.
Thanks

Just wanted to check that everything else like samsungPay, bixby will work after flashing any of the above fws? Can I try flashing QF7 AT&T firmware first and later flash XAA from updato.com?
Another quick question. Since I am using T-mobile sim in my phone, can I flash T-mobile firmware and would get OTA updates from T-mobile for future updates. Would I be able to use wifi calling too?
Thanks

Hi
I just downloaded the qf7 fw from your post for at&t. I am not sure where to user the file "USERDATA_ATT_G950USQS1AQF7..."? Do I have to use it for CSC in odin?
Thanks

If you use T-Mobile just re-brand you phone to t-mobile. Download last t-Mobile firmware and flash with Odin 3.12.5 . There is place for user_data and in csc put home_csc to re-brand.

Hi
I was successfully able to flash the QF7 firmware downloaded from updato.com. I am currently on QF7 android 7.0 June 1, 2017 Android security patch level. I tried to check for software updates from phone settings but it again says my phone is up to date which is not correct. I want to rebrand my phone to T-Mobile now, what baseband version shall I be looking to download and flash via odin for T-Mobile if my current baseband is QF7? Can I simply download the latest available baseband and flash it or it has to be the immediate next release after QF7.
Thanks

Thank you. I am all set now.
I actually have the same question which i sorta asked here in this thread..
I have the SM-G950U1 phone.. it needs branded with att apps since its unlocked to enable HD Voice to enable s3 frontier numbersync, or so the rep says.. they recommended going to best buy to get flashed, but if i can do it at home all the better.. however most of what i read here is a little greek to me for now..
Do i want one of the firmwares from updato here (dec 2017)? Do i just install Odin on a pc and connect the phone to the pc and point it to the file? I assume it wipes the phone correct? Does it lose its unlocked status in doing so?

1. Use Updato.com, MUCH faster

Pardon my ignorance. I'm about to buy a AT&T Note 8 today, but AT&T isn't my carrier (as I'm in Jamaica).
Is this the latest firmware for this device? My OCD requires me to have the latest OTA available so I don't have to keep wiping my device each time I sideload it.

Yes, you can still flash the unlocked firmware on AT&T note 8 after the Oreo update. Only the U1 unlocked firmware can be flashed and as long it's still on the same bootloader version. Also, you'll need a different version of Odin to flash for the Oreo update.
Use this version of Odin.

There is no BTU firmware for NoteFE as it was not sold in that market. Only thing you can do is to manually flash (in recovery) sec_csc.zip from S7/S7e BTU firmware.

It's the file inside the firmware that contains the csc with the settings. Problem might be that it's multi-csc, and BTU is not the master csc. In that case, you either need to root your phone, or maybe it can work with the 'combination firmware' (which is not available for free).
However, u can just try with sec-csc.zip as it won't reset ur phone and either it works or it doesn't: basically u have to download the S7e firmware for BTU, extract it, open home-csc file, extract and convert cache.img, then extract sec-csc.zip from it. Put that zip onto SD card and flash from recovery.

Combination firmware is special maintenance firmware from Samsung. It usually costs 15-50 USD. Unfortunately, it's not available yet for binary 4.

Ah, no. The N935F/DS only comes with UK type charger, because that is the charger used in the countries where it was sold.
N935S/K/L for Korea, however, uses EU type charger, as that's the one used in Korea.

Hello all,
My problem is as follows:
I have the SM-G950U USA Galaxy s8, Unbranded and unlocked. I flashed the Samsung UI beta firmware back in January which put me on T-Mobile firmware. I have been trying to flash back to the unbranded unlocked firmware, but have not found it available anywhere online.
I would like to revert back to my original unbranded firmware because now I do not receive any software updates, as when I go to software update in settings I get the message, "Your current software version is not supported. Visit a service center." I therefore can only update by flashing releases through Odin. I flashed the March security patch update from Tmobile recently, so that is what I am currently running.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Just check the bootloader version and flash U1 fw in odin. You may need patched odin. Updato or samfirm should be able to get the u1 fw no issue.

So I flashed XAA firmware off of Sam mobile. The files did not have the "userdata" file - after flashing my phone has Sprint userdata and has two Sprint system applications. Is there anyway to get rid of Sprint entirely and completely revert to unbranded? Flashing the G950U1 XAA got me back to receiving automatic updates, but has not gotten rid of the phone being branded...
Hey there. My S10+ G975U is running G975USQS4DTF6, One UI 2.1, wanna flash unbranded.
Tried a couple tutorials from here but nothing has removed the AT&T bloatware.

Tried two firmwares with odin 3.13.1, 3.13.3, 3.14.1 patched
G975USQS3CTB6_G975UOYN3CTB6_TMB
G975USQU1ASBA_G975UOYN1ASBA_USC
Always either SH256 SW and/or SW REV CHECK FAIL.
Tried another couple firmwares with odin 3.13.1, 3.13.3, 3.14.1 patched....
G975USQS3CTB6_G975UOYN3CTB6_TMB
still Always either SH256 SW and/or SW REV CHECK FAIL.
also always abl.elf, xbl.elf fail in Odin.
Should I use mount the Userdata? I think i've tried both ways and they fail. Ugh, losing track of what I've tried now.

Downloaded the most recent through Frija for CSC "USC" and "TMO"
Tried flashing with Odin modded and regular. abd 3.14.4 now.
Still keep getting SW REV CHECK FAIL " [ab1]Fuzed 4 > Binary 3"
Also, the I've noticed sometimes HOME CSC is used or included when other times regular CSC is.
USERDATA is sometimes not used, what's up with that?
Thanks again for any more leads. I keep flashing and wishing lol
There are two very similar models: 975U and 975U1. The one ending in U1 should be unbranded.

Which version number of Odin is for S10+ Android 10 i guess would help narrow down my problem too?
Besides the firnware Odin has to match too right? Or can you just use the most recent version for any earlier firmwares too?
Added screenshots from Phone Info SAM
It comes down to confirming exactly which firmware is needed, version of Odin (modded or not), which CSC to put in(CSC or HOME) and is USERDATA necessary too?
Thanks again all!!!

You can flash any Rom (V, ATT, or anty other American Rom) you want as long as you don't go backwards on your bootloader version. The version # is the 5th from the last digit on your baseband #. I flashed a U1 rom on Verizon bought S10+ and now get updates straight from Samsung with no vendor apps at all.
