Hi, i have a problem and would like to know what i can do.
Before I did a data format in order to flash the XXX rom, ive moved some of my folders to my computer, unfortunately i didnt backed up my music folder.
I did a few days ago a full twrp backup.
Do folders are backed up when you do a twrp backup? Is there a few to to retrieve onlt this folder from the twrp back up or do i need to restore my back and is it safe to do currently with this rom?

Hi all,
I own an G1 which is currently running JACxRom-1.4r3. I've made a nandroid backup and then upgraded to JACxRom-1.5r4.
Before that I hoped, that I can restore my sms, settings and so on with nandroid.
But after trying, I realized that a full nandroid restore will also restore the old custom rom.
(Which it does perfectly , but unfortunately this is not what I need right now..)
Therefore I wanted to ask, if I there's a way to restore selectively with nandroid?
My idea was to only restore the data-, cache- and userdata-img files (from nandroid) via fastboot,
hoping that this would leave the freshly installed rom intact. Is this possible?
Cheers, Kleo
Not in recovery but if you go into your sd card..
Nandroid >
then it should have 2 folders with letters not forming any words.
The first 1 on the left is the last back up and the next one on the right is the older nandroid.
For example.
I was running Cyans rom.
Nandroid.
Wipe and flash to soul life.
Nandroid.
On the sd card of mine it will have two folders
The first one is Soul life
and the second one is Cyan.
But I have had trouble after doing this, Nandroid couldn't be preformed but all you do to fix that is remove the nandroid folder off your sd card/place it on your desktop so when you do a nandroid it will create a new folder that's not buggy.
Hey guys!
So yesterday, I installed the app 'Android Control Center'. I messed around with a few settings and ended up in a bootloop. I do not have anything backed up in Titanium backup. So I made a nandroid backup in the hope that id be able to restore my apps out of that by using nandroid manager, but all of my app data were not extracted from the nandroid. So now im planning to restore the nandroid backup and use TWRPs file manager to remove that apk and its data. Are there any other things I should do to fix this problem? Will this work??
Guys, any help is appreciated!!!
Hardly believe that app can cause your system into bootloop... anyway, if you want to try.
Titanium Backup can restore apps from Nandroid backup, preferably CWM tar backup. However, this function is currently having issues with Android 4.3, so if you want to reflash the ROM, pick ROM with 4.2.2.
I believe TWRP backup should also works, but I haven't try it before. If you need to use TWRP, do it without compression & encryption.
IMO your problem can be a simple fix by remove the faulty app and reflash the ROM.
just reflash your rom via recovery, dont wipe, you wont lose any data
Alright thanks for the response. I copied my TWRP backup to my PC, extracted it and now I'm trying to copy the data folder from my TWRP backup to my ROM's data folder. Hopefully, this will work.
PS - I removed the app and i reflashed the rom but that didn't seem to fix the problem.

hey this a very stupid question but id appreciate it if someone helped me out. so ive made nandroid back ups of all the roms ive flashed till now, and ive kept them on my computer. my question is, what is the correct procedure to shift these nandroid back ups from my computer to my phone and restore them properly?
i use twrp 2.6.3.4
LG G2 D802 Black 32 GB International
With twrp, simple copy folder on pc to store.
then, copy back from pc to same folder on phone,
reboot to recovery and restore works fine

sorry i didnt understand the first part?
and do we not need to worry about md5 sum?
ok, how you copy it to PC first? (or nandroid do this automatically?)
i think, that nandroid backup to sd, and you copy it to pc...
just copy back, go get to recovery, press restore, and you will see your backup.
do you have recovery installed, like twrp or cwm ?
i copy whole folder, maybe it have md5, maybe not..
i have twrp installed.
i made the nandroid back up via recovery. after it was done i used root browser, went to sdcard/TWRP/BACKUPS/02f44b000ed16413/
then i just copied the back up inside the last folder to my computer via usb and then i deleted the back up on the phone. the path above is still intact.
just copy this folder back to phone, reboot phone into recovery (twrp), and hit restore button.

Hello guys!
I was updating from 4.4.4 to lollypop via OTA, then I realized that even if I run the stock ROM, I am still unlocked + root, meaning that the OTA won't run.
I did a complete nandroid backup via Wugs Nexus Toolkit, including data.
Then I wiped and flashed the new 5.0 via Nexus Toolkit, but when I tried to restore only the data it didn't work.
I decided to go back to 4.4.4. and do things properly, but now I'm not able to restore anything.
I am not bothered with the apps and stuff, but I had plenty of pictures which I forgot to backup, and I want to restore them. I even tried to access the nandroid backup files, but no success!
I was accustomed with the old CMW, where you had the .img files, but I got no clue on what to do here!
I add the picture of the nandroid backup folder on my PC ( I think the data files are splitted, but I cannot open them in any case, not even with 7zip).
The nandroid was executed via Nexus Toolkit, but I guess it has been done through TRWP.
Long story short:
1) how can I access the pictures inside the nandroid backup?
2) how can I restore a nandroid backup that keeps failing?

Maybe CWM does things differently, I don't know, but with TWRP, a Nandoid backup doesn't back up your SD card partition, so if you wiped everything, all your pics are gone. Sorry.
Yeah, I guess so.. Managed to recover something with DISK DIGGER (its an app, free on the store). Just wanted to write it here, so if anyone has the same issue can recover this way!
I have backed up data, system, cache, boot using by twrp recovery. And later I had to wipe off my device storage completely which included some important personal files and some music recordings. So my question is, Will I get those files back if I restore my twrp backup? Please help.!
