Hello,
I'm setting up a new S8 on my account. During the setup, after adding my Google account info, I don't see an option to restore from my current Pixel. My other devices are listed. I checked and the Pixel is being backed up to Google Drive. Is there another way to transfer all my data and apps?
Thank you

I have two phones using the same primary account. I have disabled the backup data to google option, because I don't want my app settings on both phones to be identical. Does anyone know if this backup feature is smart enough to keep the data from different phones separate? Or will my settings be overwritten with settings from the other phone for apps that back up to google?
I have the same account on 3 phones... MT4G, MT3G-Slide (backup phone) and a SamSux Behold 2 that I loaded with games and pulled the Dialer.apk and SMS/MMS.apk out so my 8yr old could have it (she calls it her "Android Touch because iPods suck") and Google backup only restores what was on each particular phone.
Example : I swapped out the ROMs on my MT3G-S today and when I logged into Google it only re-downloaded the apps that were on that phone before I wiped and installed new ROM, it did NOT include any of the apps or games I have on just the MT4G or just on the BH2.
EDIT : if you go to https://market.android.com/ after logging in with your account you will see "My Market Account" click that and on the left you'll see a tab labeled "Settings". when you click that you will see every android phone you have used that gmail account for.
I thought (possibly incorrectly) that "Back up data with my Google Account" only took effect when replacing your phone. For that reason I have it turned off on my 3 devices, but maybe I am being too cautious?
So i was clearing frameworks service on my nexus 4 and nexus 10 to try to force the OTA update. I found out the hard way that this is stupid and can seriously harm stuff.
First of all, i got problems with play store. I got errors when downloading app updates from google play.
After searching for a solution i found that I had to remove my google account from my phone and then add it again. That worked.
However once I updated to 4.3(didnt get the OTA so i used the adb method) the problems came back - it would not sync my primary account.
So i deleted again the account, cleaned framework and google play data.
Now it looks like i seriosuly f* up things. I can log in to google play but all my installed apps are gone (under "my apps")
When i login to the web version, both my nexus 4 and nexus 10 have disappeared from my devices. It only lists my old ones, that i dont have anymore.
Under "all apps" i do still see my app history (incl purchases), so at least some data was saved.
Is there anyhting i can do to
1. link my devices
2. see my installed apps?
Thanks in advance.
-edit: SOLVED!
Here's what happened - by deleting my primary account, a secondary account became the primary one so all app data was linked to that one.
I deleted all other accounts except the primary one, and with that app data was again linked to the primary account.
Do a hard reset.

I have two questios related to the above
1. There is an item named "Cloud" in the lower part of the account section.
What is it good for?
2. I am using two applications bought thru google play store
one syncs the contact list and
one is supposed to sync photos, downloads, etc.
to my ownCloud server at home.
Both applications work.
However, when the phone turns off because of drained battery or restarts after OTA updates the information for both accounts are gone. Such accounts have to be added again.
Why is this and is there a way to save and restore such account details without using any backup app? Where does Android 4.4.2 store or save such account information?
Galaxy S4 GT-I9505, I9505XXUGNG2, original firmware not rooted.
As we know Google had started to backup the apps data to google drive when you choose google backup option.
Anyway , This option it was working great with my previous phone (HTC M8) and most of my apps had a backup with its data , even when I bought the new Galaxy S7E I restore my apps and it is restored by its data.
Now when I'm checking the (manage backup) under drive settings to see the apps synced , surprisingly I only found Samsung apps only backed up plus Gmail and Google play store. I can't find any third party apps such as FotMob and Telegram and others?
Is there anybody have this problem?
Thanks
It's working now... Thanks

I'm setting up my new G6. My apps and data are all backed up with google. I can restore to a Honor 9 Lite flawlessly during the initial setup of the phone. However, the LG asks me to sign into google and restore data from there, but then never starts downloading the apps from the play store by itself. Am I missing something here?
