my friends evo is rooted but he deleted standard email and messaging. Is there any way of getting them back?
anyone have ideas?
Find out what ROM he is running and download a copy of the ROM to a computer. Unzip the file and under /system/app you should find the apk's he uninstalled.
all he did was root, he must still be on stock. once i find the apk's do they need to be flashed or just putting them in the folder on the phone will work?
thanks
Ok,I have app in one rom that I want to transfer to another rom (installed on hd2),how can I do that?
I tried this-on my PC pulled apk file from rom, then connected hd2 via usb and copy that apk file to sd.Then with root explorer transfered apk to system/apps and after that tryed to install apk by clicking on it and all I get is Aplication not installed.
Help?
Try Titanium Backup (from google play/market)
Install Titanium Backup on both Roms, back up the app(s) from ROM 1, restore to Rom 2.
I use "android assistant" for that purpose But f it came default with the ROM it will not make a backup of it.
give the link a try
- How not to Google Play when using diffrent roms so as not to always go to Google Play or if data/ wifi is not available.
Maybe this is something for you:

Could anyone link to or send me these two files? I did some googling and I found them for older versions of Android but not for the stock lollipop rom for my phone. Flashing my phone with a new ROM isn't an option right now. I was trying to delete the stock calendar app so that Google Calendar would stop asking me to choose between the two when I create a new event with voice commands but accidentally deleted the Calendar storage Apk also. Next time I promise I will make a backup with titanium backup first! I already tried using the files from an older version and also from a sprint s5 but neither of these worked.
I downloaded what I believe to be the stock rom (took the better part of the day since it was on RapidGator: L720VPUGOH1_L720SPTGOH1_L720VPUGOH1_HOME.tar.md5) and I followed rwilco12's guide to extract the files I needed. I set the permissions to rw-r--r-- and moved them to the system/app folder, but Google Calendar and Calendar Storage both still crash and fail. I tried creating a folder the way it was in on the image (in priv-app) but still no dice.
Hi,
I make a really big mistake. My plan was to use the Google Calendar. I uninstall Huawei calendar and also the calendar storage apk. Now non of them is working. If I open Google Calendar, I get the Message that I have to activate calendar storage. I downloaded the calendar storage apk, but can't install it because error message with parsing. Device is rooted where I can move the apk file manually to the system /app folder. But it also doesn't work. There is some sites with an explanation and say, it has to be the same apk from Huawei p9 lite. Can anyone of you upload the file? Or give me another advice, to use Google Calendar as before, without to install the whole firmware again.
Many thanks

Thank you very much, but i decide to flash the firmware again. It was not possible for me to install or to run calendar after moving it to the right folder. Now i have again a clean and new system. And yes, now i uninstall only the calendar app and not the calendar storage apk
So...
I had problems with samsung cloud 'having problems connecting to servers' or something along those lines, which annoyed me cos I use it for stuff like backing up photos so I uninstalled the system app through ES file explorer. I realised I screwed up cos I thought I could reinstall or something through Galaxy appstore, and installed various versions off sammobile and apkmirror, but with the apkmirror apks, the installer said 'conflicts with an already existing package'. As for the sammobile apk, although it downloaded properly, and I put it in as a file in /system/app in the folder SamsungCloud, and also deleted my account off account manager and re logged in the samsung cloud section in settings, it would go back to the animation that introduces you to Samsung Cloud after logging in, bringing up a dialog box 'account already exists in account manager'.
Apparently you can flash a zip for system apps to fix this problem, and I was wondering if that would work in this case, and if so whether someone could provide a zip file.
Thanks in advance.
