Would it be possible to create an update zip (like a new oos version just e.g. containing a custom recovery) to flash SuperSU order a custom recovery? I don't have access to a Windows pc for the next two weeks, so I wondered if I could create a zip for the stock recovery to flash TWRP.
Any ideas?
How does the stock recovery decide what file to flash and what not?
You can't, the zip need to be signed.

I'm on 4.4.4 Original
I unlocked the bootloader and installed TWRP 2.8.0.1 from their website.
Both via fastboot.
Now I need the latest SuperSu file to install this via TWRP.
I have this WUG Tool, too. But it wants to install a boot.img and twrp again.
I just want the latest supersu file.
Or do I have to let him install a boot.img over the original one?
When using the WUG Tool it should download the latest file dependencies for your device(boot.img/supersu/etc).
When using the "Unlock" option it will reboot into bootloader and then fastboot, flash custom boot.img and continue the process.
Have no fear as it will flash/install the latest twrp and supersu..

Yes you can apply ota update via twrp recovery. For this just follow following steps(On your own risk) by the way following method worked for me to apply latest 5.8.0.19s update.
1) Download the latest ota update it should be located here (internal storage/data/com.letv.android.ota/files/otaUpdates) folder.
2) There should be a zip file just cut and paste it in root folder for easy process.
3) Now boot to TWRP recovery and flash zip file which is pasted in root folder.
4) Now format dalvik cache and if you want root, then root again because due to flashingnew rom root access and all other changes you have done in system will lost but all your data will be safe... (This method is usefull for same type of rom i.e. from stock rom to stock rom or custom rom to custom rom).
5) Just for your knowledge 5.8.0.19s update file is full rom file but if you want other versions such as 5.8.0.16s then use offline update packages which are full size i.e. around 1.7 gb.
Also you can flash root since twrp comes with inbuild root tools just locate it in twrp recovery in advanced/tools/root.
Also you can install stock rom just after flashing stock rom in place of any custom rom just wipe data and factory reset and then apply root. and reboot normally.
hi I have bootloader unlocked and root, I downloaded nougat 7.0 firmware and tried to update manually, but allways error.
someone knows how to do?
You need to unroot first, if you have twrp, you need to flash the stock recovery. Make sure you download the correct one. Z017d. Once done, copy the nougat zip file, go to recovery and flash the zip file
Download stock img and install. Once installed, reboot. Click the volume button once you get to bootloader click recovery. In the stock recovery wipe cache if you want, this is preferred to prevent any issues. Then update via micro sd.
Should the phone must be rooted before instalilng CR or ROOT can be install of the trough CR instalation procedure (eg magic). Thanks
Your phone doesn't have to be rooted to install a custom recovery (I assume that's what you mean by CR). However, a custom recovery is required to flash either Magisk or SuperSU.
Flash a custom recovery using Odin first, then boot into recovery and flash the flashable zip containing a superuser management tool of your choice!
When I was using MIUI, I rooted my device installed TWRP Recovery and then flashed custom ROM ( Lineage OS 15.1). But mistakenly when I want to roll back to MIUI then I flashed stock mi recovery with the help of TWRP Recovery. Now I want to flash TWRP Recovery on my device since I am unable to flash MIUI with stock recovery.
I am currently using Custom ROM and unable to root the device with the help of stock recovery. And my phone doesn't connect to PC which is another problem.
Please give me a solution to this problem, you only tell me how to install TWRP now without root and with stock recovery. Else I will see myself.
Copy the attached file to internal storage. Rename to "update.zip". Go to stock recovery. Click update.
Notes :
- TWRP 2.8.7 for kitkat bootloader, else for lolipop. Wrong file could lead you to bootlop.
- Pay attention to lowercase. I got an error because of "Update.zip" rather than "update.zip"
I can't attach the link due to forum restriction. Just add "www[dot]mediafire[dot]com" at the beginning of the url.
