Yes you're right.
But i wanted as a normal user to get access to this feature.
For now, i still cannot get any update and i got a funny answer from Honor support.
They told me that i have to go to Serbia if i wants to update my honor since i bought it there last year.
But i lives in africa now lol.
So the only remaining solution is the local update when i will finally find the right procedure.

The right procedure would be
Make a backup of all your data, contacts, apps etc using Huawei hisuite.
Download the firmware you want to upgrade to and extract to get UPDATE.APP
Copy it to a folder named dload in your SD card and press and hold power, Vol up and Vol down until phone boots up. Let go of power after booting but keep other two pressed for five six sec more.
It will do a forced upgrade and you will lose all your stuff. Boot into Android, update Huawei backup app and restore your backup using hisuite and you are done.
Hope it helps.
looks clear.
Thank you very much muradulislam
Still in beta. It's not a big of a change from lollipop
sorry folks but after reviewing all my experience with MM (B380) i recommend to update with Lollipop B180 (B190 if available) only!
With B380 it is possible, that you will get some trouble with it! At the moment, B380 was removed from the support side of HONOR!
Maybe it has a reason!
That's a bit sad to hear. But it's full of sense. Thank you.

Most of the users that i know (me included!), did not confirm that!
i own two Honor 7. I tried MM on one of them for four weeks. After this period, i have done a rollback to B190 Lollipop.
Since this moment, all my problems are gone! I could not believe, that HONOR will bring us an trouble-free version of MM.
Really strange that Huawei remains unable to deliver a clean Os. Such a big company with that quality of phones !

i didn’t understand your friendly offer! I had used MM on my phone, so i was able to install MM on it! But i have get the same notification problem with "WhatsApp"
as the other users have reported here! And some of my apps have stopped their work during the night. I had protected these apps against termination in the energy manager, but it doesn't help! I think, it is a problem of the build in MM "deep sleep" functionality! And yes, i had made a factory reset in the beginning of my experiences.
But thx anyway!

Hi,Guys Please Help Me!i have a p8 lite model ALE-L21C02B130!,how can i get marshmallow on the device(i am from south Africa)and will like the official version any help will be appreciated....
The first place to check is MENU - SETTINGS - ABOUT PHONE - SOFTWARE VERSION - CHECK FOR UPDATES. If the OTA notification doesn't show up then it's possible your carrier hasn't release the OTA yet. Also, if the update notification doesn't show up, you will need a PC or laptop to download the official firmware and perform the installation.
I also just went back and looked at the P8 Lite General Forum and there is a thread that appears to be dedicated to updating your P8 Lite from Lollipop to Marshmallow. That is where I would start.
Sent from my Nexus 6 using XDA-Developers mobile app
i have checked there is no update available what with you recommend me doing waiting for carrier or flash it this way the device is (brand new)
If it were me and I wanted the official 6.0.1 MM I would flash it myself which is what I always do anyways. It doesn't matter to me if my device is brand new or not. I would read through the P8 Lite General Forum. There are several threads about updating to the latest 6.0.1 MM firmware and the region they are for. Where are you located? That will help you in finding the correct firmware to download and install.

I found a tutorial for upgrading manually. You have to download the update from the huawei server and put it on a sd card. In the settings you can choose "Local update" (i don't know the exact expression, im from germany). You can try it with HiCare also, but i don't know if this works...
For bad english: Sorry, i've learned english only in school, reading and in games

Root it ! no more OTG update !
Already done nothing more to do ?
After unlocking bootloader you shoudn't receive more OTA updates.
Sorry, but this is not true. I have an open bootloader and root an I do recive OTA.
You can stop sarching for updates under Updater -> Menu -> Update Settings -> Auto-check for updates.

It's OTA*, OTG it's totally another things 😂
If you want to try, you can uninstall the updater app with the app Link2SD (root needed). But first be sure to make a system backup in case something goes wrong.
why should this be strange?
I received 2 OTA with root and open bootloader. And yes, system update with updater app.

At the moment, the Nougat is in Beta. It:s better to wait until you get an OTA.

You do NOT have to root. You just have to install Huawei Firmware Finder and when prompted the HWFF Proxy add-on. Set your proxy for wifi or mobile data to "localhost" and port 8080, and start the download through the stock system updater. Pause at 1%, and then switch back to your normal wifi or mobile data, then it will continue the upgrade. Took about 45 minutes for me to download and install from start to finish over a 4G mobile data connection on my VNS-L21C185, which was running B150, and now B360. The HWFF software has no documentation, so I would save that link for the next time you use it to upgrade. Many thanks to Sol-Leil-A.

Hello,
I know, this is a Honor 8 lite forum but I did not found my device, this is why I'm here.
I have one question only, does my device support ota? Or anyone knows this as a problem?
My build number is: pra-lx1c900b004
I know this is the global model, but with firmware finder too, I can not find an update, and it's only displays 2 old ones, but I can't download them.
I have another pra phone, it is a p9 lite 2017, european model: pra-lx1c432b162
This phone got 2 ota updates before.
So is my device will ever get ota? I did looked up a lot of models like all la1 versions and all of them had some updates before. I'm a bit worried because I will want to upgrade to android 8.0 if that will happen.
This is my first post so if it's bad, I'm sorry.
Waiting for an answer

I bought it from AliExpress, official Huawei store with some reviews,(all 5) my phone has honor logo on it but it has p8 lite 2017 software, interesting. The description said that it support ota but I haven't got connection to the themes in themes app too and I think there is a server connection problem but this is just speculation.. So maybe I can get ota it's just rare?

So the latest thing what happened, I just that silly that I did not sat down. Now I tried to install another official rom but a p10 lite. Yes I know I was that dumb. On bootup I have the basic android logo and everything works except my sim card, volume, vibrate motor, play services and update menu. (Update failed at 99%)Now I have emui 5.1 on my Honor 8 Lite which came to me with p8 lite 2017 software... My build number now is I know that this is bad, but: NRD90M test keys. Model number: generic_a15
Is there anything that I could to to my phone to work?
