I just paid for my new HTC Touch HD I got on eBay last night and it should be shipped out from down under pretty soon. So, I guess that means HTC can now announce all of their cool next generation phones. At least that's how it usually works when I buy something high tech. Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting it and going through the process of installing all the software onto it.
congrats mate!!!
im sure ul enjoy it , i do mine
the only thing i feel im missing out on is the app store for the iphone
but that said i still wouldnt swap mine if the chance arose
also give spb mobile shell 3 a look for something a bit different
congratulations! don't worry since you can have fun with the HD for months before anything new comes out, is tested well, and stable!
there has already been a few new phones announced from htc like 1-2months ago, think there's alredy 1 maybe 2 of them already out or due out shortly.
http://www.mobiles.co.uk/o2-htc-touch-diamond2.html
http://www.mobiles.co.uk/htc-touch-pro2.html
there's a topic on here somewhere thats lists the ones that where announced, too late now for me to go digging for it.
hellow, i need your help mates
Where can i buy HD for about 450-500 usd, and where the visa virtuon card is accepted, and is guaranteed that they will ship the pda to me in europe?
I would say eBay as well and then someone who accepts PayPal. Maybe this could also help (sry for bad google translation) you.

Hi materijalmen,
Seeing your flag, I suggest to try:
http://www.pdashop.nl/product/59805/htc-touch-hd-nl.html
You can also do a direct bank transfer with these guys, and they gave me good service in the past. I know it's a bit more than you mentioned, but that's the going rate, unless you want to try marktplaats?

Yes. I've flashed Dutty's rom on it and I've downloaded some other programs I plan to add. I'm learning things as I go but so far I like everything except:
1 The screen goes black during a call. How do I get the screen back up? What if I have to "press one for English"? There's no keypad.
2 Whle trying to delete calls from teh call history I've accidently called people a few times.
3 While trying to install the ROM, which took about an hour, my wife was trying to call me to pick her up fom the metrorail station. She had to wait an hour since I don't have any other phone. Boy was she pissed.

Press the arrow button and the screen should come back on, then their's an option to display the keypad.
Well finally I have received my hd2. So far truly impressed and its very fast although I will have to get used to using it (from my x1) and will have to set it up so its exactly how I like it... The screen is amazing, so big and clear and excellent... The capacative screen is not as hard or as unwieldy as I thought it might be...
OS details are - Rom 1.66.76641, Radio 2.06.51.07 and then the letter G 15.34.50.07U (not sure what G means )
I got the phone on a vodafone plan (£40 a mth, 300mins, unlimited texts, unlimited internet) and it cost me around £11 for the handset (reasons for this to follow). I bought the hd2 through dial a phone... or dial a phoney as they should be called, and had a hell of a time getting it delivered. Called 04 Feb 10 to order the phone and was told that it would be with me by Mon... monday came and an email arrived saying delivery postponed... fair enough I thought at least they told me... tuesday arrived and again the email came saying delivery postponed... so I called and asked if there was a problem. The chappie on the phone told me the credit thing from vodafone hadnt gone through but he called and confirmed all was ok (it was) and then told me the phone would be with me the next day.... wednesday arrived and another postponed email arrived too... so I called them again and asked what the problem was, nothing they told me... stock ok, credit cleared and all go so I would definitely have the phone the next day... thursday arrived and another email... at this stage I was fuming... so I called first thing in the morning and told them if they didnt get it to me the next day its all over, they told me that the credit thing hadnt worked properly as they were having trouble with their computers or some such and that the phone would be with me first thing friday... so I called again later that afternoon to confirm it was going out and they said yes... friday... you guessed it no phone and a phone call to dial a phoney confirmed that they had no stock, hadnt for a week or so and that they were expecting some in that afternoon and they would send mine out as a matter of urgency... I called again that afternoon to confirm the stock had arrived and they told me it had and was going out and would be with me the following monday... and thats today and it is...!!! yay for getting the phone but booo for such rubbish service and blatant lying... if they had just told me the stock was not in I would have waited a few days but to tell me all the fables they did was just hokum... sure they gave me a recommend a friend discount and £6.50 towards apps but appalling service did not make it a pleasant experience...
Anyhow I have my new baby now and am taking it for a spin... so far loving it...!!!
*edit* and best yet is its fully unlocked for any network, got my o2 sim in there and not a problem... wooohoooo
Congratulations. Hope you enjoy your device.
Word or two of advice; take the time to get to know the device first, especially mastering the keyboard. Once you know it well then take the next step which is tweaking it to what you want.
The step before tweaking is to read, read and read again. There are some excellent threads on here to help you out, e.g. the Hints & Tips thread. Searching on XDA can be a bit of a pain so use this...http://www.google.com/advanced_search?q=+site:http://forum.xda-developers.com&hl=en&lr=&as_qdr=all to help you out.
Once again congratulations. Enjoy.
WB
Thanks WB... I have been playing with it non stop for the last 2 hours and am really surprised at how easy the typing is... I was expecting it to be more difficult... but I havent used CE Star yet so we shall see... thanks for the pointers... reading is all I have been doing the last couple of weeks and loving xda once again for the wealth of info here... Cheers..
Ok so after playing for a while I am loving it, very fast and very responsive, and once you get used to the typing its easy and fairly fast... so much better than I expected... screen is awesome for reading and watching movies... clear and bright... I am still getting used to all the new menu systems and so forth, finding my way round the settings and now starting to install all the programs I use and need... also starting to use the bsb tweak...
My only bugbear at the moment is that I cant seem to get ce star working properly, but after some searching on here it seems that I may need to install several times for it to finally work...
congrats to your new toy!
I had issues getting it from Dial-A-Phone too - delivery right near Christmas was hit and miss but it arrived on Crimbo Eve!! Mine was also SIM free on ROM 1.48 out the box...
Since then, I've loved every minute and currently using Dutty's HG v08 ROM - I'd recommend this ROM to anyone as it's near stock but fast as hell!! You can find it HERE (you have to register on HTCpedia to get it but it's worth it!!). You also need to install HSPL to get it on but it's worth it!!
Read THIS before you do any flashing just so you know what's what...
Have fun!!
anybody elses facebook app refusing to update since last night??
you can check the status here
developers.facebook.com/live_status
sorry not able to post link as its my first post
Just checked and mine still don't work, after checking the status which says it works
For those who don't know facebook had it's biggest crash to date between the hours of 7pm and 9pm BST on the 23/9/10. They are still in the process of getting everything back to normal and i think it is just the remote applications side that is still effected. i have seen some information on bbc.co.uk that says they are hoping to have everything back to normal at some point today
i wondered why that was - bit unfortunate.
i guess even the developers couldnt update thier status to 'long night as work'
thanks guys, that makes sense, just wondered if it was just me or not because the missus' iPhone app was working just fine.....
but then i suppose that would get priority....lol....
Working!
Try logging out of the Facebook app, then logging back in again! That fixed mine!!
Oh God, I made hard reset yesterday for that s::: issue!!!! Damned Facebook!!
Wish being told before!!
log out didnt work earlier, but it has this time....
good call........

yeah I did it but yesterday it seemed that I was the only human being with that issue on Earth,so...(chainsaw)
Guess i'm the 2nd human on earth with this issue..
Logging out just helps to initiate the first update, but does not solve the issue permanently.
Any ideas? where would be a good source to get the latest status on this issue?
strange that it is not on the 1st page of the forum, i guess most HD2 users already transported to Android.
Dude mine has been doing this for days now and it really p#*ses me off. Your right though, logging out and then logging bag in solves the update problem for that instance only, it will then fail to update from there on in.
Whats really annoying is the facebook app is pretty crap anyway, and now I have a pretty crap app that doesn't even work! lol
Ya know what guys, I might go and buy an iphone this afternoon in a dirty protest! (thats my attempt at a little light hearted humour by the way) lol
same here :-(
using m.facebook.com instead
last reviews all on Marketplace say its broken too :-(
excellent that M$ have noticed and fixed it lol
XDA Facebook
You're all right, the standard Facebook app is pants anyway - so this just compounds things! All I can suggest is that we support Joe_Coolish in his work to bring us the XDA Facebook App - currently on Beta 3.0, with a road map for completion later this year! His work so far has been great, and it already has a much better feel that the MS pile of [email protected] FB app!

ive found something very odd. im not really looking for an answer, just sharing.unless you know whats going on.for the past few weeks my wife has told me that when she goes to walmart on sunday morning, her time jumps ahead on her nexus.this is an unrooted device running 2.2.1.naturally i was skeptic.until this morning.i went with her.when we started our grocery shopping she asked to see my nexus.then she asked to see my watch.then she showed me her nexus and it was ahead by one hour.when we got the groceries loaded in car i checked it again and all was back to normal.i then checked all settings and nothing is abnormal.i havent a clue on this.
Bermuda triangle!?
The N1 has determined that it takes approximately one hour to shop at Wal Mart, therefore it is trying within its limit of influence to make you exit the horrid place.
i was thinking twilight zone

It is the Wall Mart 'Always rolling back' effort. In the real world, your wife did not go shopping, she did not spend one hour there. These are not the droids you are looking for.
since i know where you are located... you are located near a diff time zone. your wifes nexus probably picks up the other timezone, in walmart, and switches accordingly. thats my 2 cents.
Wal-Mart is so big it has dual time zone?
crap man! You are supposed to use a space after a period.
I have to copy and paste and fix your damn post, just to be able to read it.

Ok, now that we have something readable... it sounds like you are connecting to a tower that has it's clock wrong. I believe each tower has it's own clock that updates your device. That way each device isn't going out over the main network to get time and other things.

I believe that there is a WIFI box or Cell tower that was moved from a different timezone. Nothing you can do about it.
Eh there is being picky about grammer, there is being lazy with grammer, and then there is writing so awful that a simple sentence makes my head hurt.
probly nvm w/e are understandable for most people, and get the point across, but writing a full paragraph without the absolute basics like capitalization, commas, breaks, and what not, make me personally not want to read what you took the time to say.
this is the funniest sh** i've read today!

+1, or something similar (network time is wrong). If you don't travel much try turning off the automatic time zone

i didnt understand the question mate
but i guess this may work
go in settings -then go into date and time option and there u will find the necessary answer maybe
He wants to know how long the device has been used before he got it.
OP, even if you do find a counter that shows how long the phone has been used since the last flash, what if all the factory images were re-flashed at one point?
