It's basic, libsec-ril.so is for sim card.
If your sim card is working before download Lineage OS you simply no need to download baseband/upgrade modem.
1.Need Root device
Example Magisk, SuperSU
2.Need Root File Manager
Example Root Explorer
3.Replace this file
Root/System/Lib/libsec-ril.so
0.How to get working sim card libsec-ril.so ?
-Find Lineage OS previous version that can make your sim card exist in your phone.
-Flash rom to that old version.
-Go to Root/System/Lib/ and backup libsec-ril.so
-Flash rom to new version and go to step 3 to replace file
-Turn Airplane mode on off, if not working reboot.
Or you can use this link to download libsec-ril.so
drive.google.com/file/d/0B8Z3Yq1NlXEfeEVlaFcxSGVXR0U/view?usp=drivesdk
Im sure file in that link is working for all note3 hlte if not please go to step 0
If you find anyone got problem like this, please help them, spread the solution.
Congrats Lineage OS team, for messed up basic thing in phone.
Hi,
this did not work for me. I used adb push while in twrp. The files and folders were deleted upon rebooting. What worked for me on my Galaxy Note 3 was https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=72986417&postcount=4141

Permission denied.
That because admin access only RO(read only) in Root/system/lib
lib folder need to change to RW(read write)
You need follow my step for it to work, my step not using twrp, you need root explorer or any file manager that can change lib folder to RW.
Thanks
It worked for me first time. ?
I also have Galaxy Note 3 and Lineage OS build "lineage-14.1-20170725-nightly-hlte-signed".
@ Anon_Help_You
Perfect. Thanks!
HOLY CRAP YOU'RE A LIFE SAVER!!!!
I wonder if this would work with the Resurrection Remix no sim card found issues I have as well
I messed around so much for the last few days trying to update modem... finally saw this thread. Sim card now working, I had to re-register on network with choose network provider (might be cos I'm roaming) before I had signal though. THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR SIMPLE SOLUTION!!!
Thank you Man, It fixes the IMEI error too, flashed lineage-14.1-20170829-nightly

Thanks so much for this quick fix, it worked perfectly.
Is this going to be submitted as a fix for future lineage os builds...?
Update modem and baseband, do not replace libraries
It shouldn't be fixed by replacing a library: the real problem is that your modem and baseband versions are too old. You need to update them. My Note3 was increasingly having trouble connecting to LTE networks before I installed LineageOS (I was on CyanogenMod a long time). After the baseband and modem updates (which you don't get automatically anymore if you install a custom ROM), that's working like a charm again, and the missing SIM problem is gone too, with LineageOS builds working out of the box.
Works!
Hi,
I replaced
root/system/lib/libsec-ril.so
by the old version of Cyanogmenod 13. Not SIM and GPS works again.
What I did:
- extract libsec-ril.so from my TWRP backup (using RAR)
- boot into TWRP recovery, overwrite file
Thank you very much!!!

care to share on how to perform the steps in details/pictures?thank you in advanced
it seems these steps no longer working for latest build lineage-14.1-20171107-nightly-hlte-signed.zip,no sim detected,or it is just happen to me? anyone else having a problem?
@ulats07 same happening to me with lineage-14.1-20171107, the libsec-ril.so is not present in /system/lib anymore, only libsecril-client.so and libsec-client-sap.so.
i will try @svenberkvens suggestion and update the modem and baseband
EDIT:
sorry, can't post links , replace DOTs and remove spaces
so i followed the instructions from https://jira DOT lineageos DOT org/browse/REGRESSION-773?focusedCommentId=17429&page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel#comment-17429 (lineage jira website) to update the modem and sim works now without replacing the libsec-ril.so file.
pasting the instructions here
Make a MODEM backup with TWRP before running it in case of errors
What worked for me:
- Download Kevin's tar https://www DOT androidfilehost DOT com/?fid=673368273298969340
- Rename the .tar.md5 extension to .tar
- Extract the modem.bin file
- Poweroff your phone. Don't reboot into download, just power it off, otherwise the flash will seem correct except that it won't actually be done
- Put your phone into download mode (vol down + home + power)
- Use heimdall (last version, 1.4.2 from github, other versions won't work) to flash the modem using :
- (sudo) heimdall flash --MODEM modem.bin
- Your phone will reboot and SIM should work

I'm on mac and I used heimdall-frontend, detailed instructions follow:
- download latest version from https:// github DOT com/Benjamin-Dobell/Heimdall/releases (heimdall git)
- extract and open in terminal
- `cd Heimdall-1.4.2`
- follow https://raw DOT githubusercontent DOT com/Benjamin-Dobell/Heimdall/master/OSX/README.txt (build instructions) from the bottom of the README, pasted below and modified slightly (specifies LIBRARY_PATH and puts the app in the Applications folder)
Code:
brew install libusb qt5 cmake
mkdir build
cd build
cmake -G "Unix Makefiles" -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Release -DQt5Widgets_DIR=/usr/local/opt/qt5/lib/cmake/Qt5Widgets ..
LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/lib make
cp -r bin/heimdall-frontend.app /Applications
open heimdall-frontend go to:
- Utilities -> Detect Device -> Detect
- Utilities -> Download PIT -> Download
- Flash -> Options -> Specify your PIT file
- Flash -> Partitions -> Add
- Flash -> Partition Details -> Partition Name -> MODEM
- Flash -> Partition Details -> File -> modem.bin (from the extracted Kevin's tar)
And now a working guide for windows would be nice
I allready tried the steps which where mentioned in the posts before but without success
So is there someone who can tell me how this works on Windows with Odin and the latest "lineage-14.1-20171107-nightly-hlte-signed.zip" version?
Note 3 Sim Card not detected
Hey,
Ive the same problems with my Sim detection now, it stopped working after updating to the latest Nightly 07-11. However, even using an old Nandroid Backup (where SIM worked) doesnt work, flashing another ROM also didnt fix the problem. (tried Dirty Unicorns, Lineage from mid 2017, Resurrection) I also tried flashing a new modem but the problem persisted. Im not too experienced with all that Android stuff and would really appreciate any help.
Thanks in advance!

UPDATES STOPPED: MORE IN-DEPTH THREAD POSTED OVER IN DEVELOPMENT FORUM WITH UPDATED INFORMATION.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1275031
There have been a number of threads regarding working with the Sprint tablet. Due to the lack of support for it, I've complied various items from all across the information tubes to help your get the full use of your Sprint tablet.
I've compiled the instructions from various sources across the internet. If I've failed to reference an item, let me know and I'll correct it.
Something to keep in mind - Heimdall and Odin use different drivers. You WILL NEED to swap between them each time you swap programs. It's unfortunate, but it's necessary.
Flash back to stock (EA24) with Odin
1) Download the files from here
2) Open Odin, and select PDA
3) Choose the appropriate .tar file.
4) Make sure repartition is UNCHECKED!
5) Press start.
6) When the process is finished, the Odin program will say Pass, then Reset.
Install Gingerbread on your Tab
1) Download this file
2) Rename it to update
3) Place it on the root of your SD Card (not in a folder)
4) Boot into recovery and choose "apply update.zip"
Install Rooted Gingerbread on your Tab
1) Download the rooted GB file.
2) Open Odin, and select PDA
3) Choose the appropriate .tar file.
4) Make sure repartition is UNCHECKED!
5) Press start.
6) When the process is finished, the Odin program will say Pass, then Reset.
Root your Sprint Galaxy Tab on FROYO
1) Download SuperOneClick
2) Enable USB Debugging
3) Connect your Tab to the PC
4) Run SuperOneClick
5) Select Root
6) You're rooted!
If you're on Gingerbread, see this thread
Heimdall (needed to flash kernel with CWM)
1) Download Heimdall and unzip
2) Download Microsoft C++ 2010 Redistributable Package
3) Put the Tab in download mode (Vol Down + Power)
4) Connect it to your PC
5) Navigate to your Heimdall folder and run zadig.exe
6) Choose Options>List all devices>Samsung USB Composite Device
7) You'll receive a prompt about the driver, accept to install.
Kernel with CWM Recovery for FROYO
1) Download the zip file here
2) Unzip the file. You will need the file named zimage only.
3) Open Heimdall Frontend
4) Select Browse under Kernel and navigate to the file you downloaded in step 1 and select it
5) Press Start
6) The Tab will reboot, but will freeze on the Samsung logo. Turn it off and boot into recovery (Vol Up + Power)
7) CWM Recovery will attempt to back your tab up, but will fail. Don't fret.
8) Do a factory reset in CWM Recovery and reboot
9) You'll freeze on the Samsung logo again Turn it off and boot into recovery.
10) CWM Recovery will back your Tab up successfully.
11) You now have a CWM backup. Reboot.
12) Your auto rotate is broken.
13) Download the rotation file
14) Put it in /system/lib/hw and change the permissions to match the other items.
Heimdall/CWM instructions compiled and cleaned up from here
Flashing ROMs
1) Keep in mind that the dev may suggest a specific kernel. See kernel instructions (step 1-5 above)
2) Put the ROM .zip file on the root of your SD Card
3) Choose install .zip from SD Card in CWM Recovery
4) Select the ROM .zip file
ROMs for the Sprint Galaxy Tab
1) Honeycomb - in early stages (Dev - spacemoose)
2) Better than Life - FROYO (Dev - oldmacnut)
3) Future Echoes - GB - (Dev - oldmacnut)
4) MIUI Port - (Dev - oldmacnut)
Finally, each of these steps involves the potential of rendering your device useless. Take care with each step. If you're not 100% comfortable with the process, post your questions. Hopefully, other Sprint owners will take note of the thread and use it.
I rooted a couple weeks ago and finally flashed cwm the other day, i wish this had been posted then! Nice job.
question, when i install cwm when i turn on usb mode it shows up as a cd rom on my pc, is that normal?

From what i've read, that is a known side effect, it happened to me too. Also my camera and screen auto rotation are broken. I know there's a solution to the screen rotation issue, but still looking for the solutions for the other two issues.

Reflash the stock kernel.
Thanks so much for this topic. A lot of Sprint-centric instructions have been scattered around the forums and consolidating it in one place is enormously helpful.

I was finally able to revert to stock with Odin.
Sad noob here.
Current Status:
Once rooted device (now recovery mode goes to TWRP)
No longer have su privaleges
No wifi (bad wpa_supplicant file)
SuperSU in a messed up state (says it is installed but only the .apk is visible in /system/app - nothing from the apps view on the tablet (i.e. the "gui")
Device Details:
Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7"
SM-T230NU
Marvell PXA1088
Android Version 4.4.2
Build date August 2014
What I was trying to do:
Enable ad hoc networking capability
What I did:
Rooted Tablet via http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=55581754&postcount=4
This worked GREAT btw, thanks for those who worked on that solution
Follow steps to enable ad hoc capability via: http://androidtablethacks.com/android-tablet-hacks/how-to-enable-adhoc-wifi-on-android-tablets/
This didn't appear to work so I successfully tried the recovery steps
THEN I MESSED UP: I must have stomped on my original wpa_supplicant file at some point because after the initial successful recovery I have been unable to turn wifi on (nevermind ad hoc)
The way I see it, without both su permissions and wifi I'm dead in the water. I can't download SuperSU without wifi, when I download the SuperSU.apk to my PC and try to use ADB to install it it does not work because I do not have su permissions.
PLEASE tell me I am wrong and you have a solution you can share.
Thanks in advance for any help offered.

Custom Recovery
Please have a read through the information in this link : http://www.howtogeek.com/193055/what-is-a-custom-recovery-on-android-and-why-would-i-want-one/
Flashing a custom recovery on the L2 is a simple process.
Things Required for this process:
Rooted Phone - (Please see the post on Rooting)
Mobile Uncle Tools APK
Recovery Image
First you have to allow the phone to install apps that dont come from Google Play Store. To do so,follow the guide :
1.Settings Menu
2.Security
3.Enable(tick) Unknown sources
4.Untick Verify apps
You can always reset these back to how you found them when you are done.
Download Mobile Uncle Tools
Mega Link: http://goo.gl/IkyVDo
or
MediaFire Link : http://goo.gl/c5q6Jh
Copy APK file to your SD card, use your file manager to install it.
Run Mobile uncle tools, allow root permissions when menu pops up.
You can close the app for now.Next thing we need is the actual recovery file itself.I've attached the recovery i find works best

Okay, you have to download the firmware version for your country, and have custom recovery installed on the phone.
So if you in UK,download the rom for your phone from UK provider.(doesnt matter if its JB or KK)
http://www.ztedevices.com/support/index.html
Once you have the rom,Use winRAR to do the following:
1.open the rom from your country in winrar so you can see the contents.
2.Open system folder (dont extract, just navigate into the folders in winrar)
3.Open "etc" folder
4.Open Firmware folder
5.Select "modem_1_wg_n.img" and extract it(i just drag and drop on desktop)
6.Open the Kitkat firmware you've downloaded using winRAR
7.Open System folder
8.Open "etc" folder
9.Open Firmware folder
10. Copy the "modem_1_wg_n.img" into that location(drag and drop from desktop)
11.winRAR asks if you want to :Add/Replace file/s? Select Yes or OK to allow it to
12.copy entire firmware to phone and reflash it on the phone from the SD card
I dont know if you can just replace the modem file after having loaded the firmware.I didnt try or test it.it may or may not work.
I am working on Custom Firmware for this phone though.
latest achievement was i managed to get the phone to see the SD card as phone storage thanks to various xda guides.this will be built in
FIrmware should be ready in a few days after testing.if anybody is interested in trying it out,let me know
problem solved...
Thank you sir...problem solved...it's really hard to be a noob...have to understand a lot of things now....I'm willing to try your firmware on my phone...upload it when done...keep up the good work...sorry for my english...
Post has been updated
I need to talk to you.... Go read my PM

Thanks
The thread is so useful... Keep up the good work, I don't have patience to try the new ROM!
Is there any chance for kernel supporting overclocking and undervoltage, also with more Gvernor and I/O Sheduler options?
Also Would be gorgeous if there's tap screen to wake option, this would need custom kernel too...
I'm now using DeviRSilva's kernel, which is doing great! Man, don't be afraid to relese it and continue tweaks
Still I'm a noob and maybe half of theese wishes are impossible, but would be so cool if they're possible to develop!
PD: I saw a site promoting Lollipop ROM for our L2 is that real?
PD2: Sorry for my awful English and probably stupid requests and questions...
helpppp
I have probelm, phone do not show sim card, on official site there is no serbia rom please how to fix it?

Carliv Touch Recovery v2.2 - MTK CWM-based v 6.0.4.4
Download Recovery.img file

or
MediaFire Link :http://goo.gl/U1D2Zu
MD5 :9f770b95df8e1beabd7417fc112190bc
Once the file has downloaded, copy to the root of your SD Card.
Open Mobile Uncle Tools and Select "Recovery Update".
Be sure to Select the downloaded recovery image, not anything else.
Select the file and proceed with installation.Mobile uncle tools will then prompt you to reboot into recovery if the update was successful.Select Yes and the phone will reboot into the new recovery menu

any news on the kitkat rom yet? super excited to try this out!
is the link for the rom gone?
i dont see it
This is an updated guide for the Samsung S8+ (G955F) version for the new beta 4 released a few hours ago. It was a hotfix release for issues with apps closing.
I thought I would put this guide out there as this was the easiest I found and the bonus is that you keep your data and just upgrade over the top.
All credit to jaron vdb from Telegram. This is his backup and he has given me permission to use it. He is the brains – I am just good at writing easy to use guides!
Pre-requisite:
-you need to have a working TWRP
-you need an external sd card
Steps:
1. Get into TWRP and backup your current rom to your external SD card. We will need this later to restore the data and importantly: if things go wrong you can always restore back again to what you have now.
Once it has been backed up you will have a folder on your external sd card that looks something like this:
Name of your External SD card/TWRP/BACKUPS/ce04873839487e8383/[the name of the file you just backed up in step 1]
2. Download this file and save it to your External SD CARD:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1MrLynlCYCtnkAFk7GMeDnigXSmA2-8hC/view
This is your TWRP restore file kindly provided by jaron vdb.
3. Once you have downloaded that file then you will need to unzip this file. Use something like 7zip from Playstore and extract that file you downloaded to this location you just created with Step 1 – something like:
External SD CARD/TWRP/BACKUPS/ce04873839487e8383/[the name of the file you just unzipped]
This is a very important step – you must extract the file you downloaded to this EXACT location.
4. Go here and download supersu 2.82SR5 to your external SD Card:
https://androidfilebox.com/app/supersu-root/
This is the only root version working at the moment – magisk does not work as of now. It is Supersu which works perfectly. It also has dm-verity on it so will allow you access to data in TWRP.
5. Ok we are ready to flash the Beta 2! Get into TWRP again
6. Hit the restore button and then go to your external SD Card and restore the file that you downloaded and had to extract. You will also see your other restore in there. Don’t touch that just yet.
7. Stay in TWRP and now go to Wipe and then go to Format Data and then type in yes
8. Stay in TWRP and now go to Restore and choose the first file you backed up in Step 1 – your original backed up ROM. Choose this file and then ONLY TICK data to install. Restore data.
9. Stay in TWRP and flash the supersu file you downloaded.
10. Reboot!
11. You now should be rebooted back into your original rom with the very smooth Beta 3 installed!
12. Now you have to make the fix so you don’t get a buttload of random reboots and Knox nonsense. Download Root Explorer or any build prop editor program from Playstore and change:
ro.config.tima=1 to ro.config.tima=0
and change Knox thingo to v30 like this:
ro.config.knox=v30
Mine was already on v30 but YMMV
13. Have a cup of tea.
Confirm working on G955FD
Can you please share b4 change log? I tried to search it but could not find it. I found change log for b3 but not b4.
See attached

No you don't need to be rooted but you need twrp.

I have finally been able to get VoLTE working on my X Performance despite my carrier never having 'supported' my handset (they never sold it here).
What you will need?
Windows Computer with Flashtool and minimal ADB and fastboot (if you have already downloaded fimrware as below you can use flashtool on whatever platform your prefer)
Bootloader Unlocked
TWRP
ROOT (Magisk Preferred)
VoLTE enabled firmware (not sure about this one I think you can edit build.prop appropriately)
To unlock Bootloader, TWRP, and ROOT follow this guide
I will first describe how I did it and then how anyone else should be able to achieve the same outcome. Now includes a less convoluted way to do this allowing you to keep all data thanks to those who tested
1) First using a root file browser - I recommend this one browse to /system/etc/customisations/modem/
2) Check to see if there is any reference to your operator's modem in your model firmware. They are all in the format of amss_fsg_dora_xxx_tar.mbn
3) Once you have a spotted your operator you need to take note of what's in between 'dora_' and '_tar' so for example if I use china mobile - I would find amss_fsg_dora_china_mobile_hk_ims_tar.mbn I would need to take note of china_mobile_hk_ims
4) Once you have this you need to connect your phone via ADB to your PC (I found this much easier on a computer).
5) Enter the following commands adb root then adb shell
6) mount -o rw,remount /oem
7) vi /oem/modem-config/modem.conf
8) press 'i' on your keyboard to enter edit mode and delete whatever is in the file and replace it with your operator modem from step 3 - (china_mobile_hk_ims in this example) then press 'ESC' and then ':wq'
9) make a backup of your important data
10) Turn off your phone, connect it into Flashmode to your PC (hold vol- while plugging in to the PC)
11) Flash your firmware with these options - do a wipe of all partitions. Tick the OEM box in the 'Exclude SIN' section. Alternatively follow this and avoid factory reset as per @pbarrette and @SGH-i200
12) Once you have completed reboot your phone and you should pickup VoLTE settings at setup.
IF you don't have root follow the guide earlier on how to backup TA, unlock bootoader
Flash a VoLTE enabled firmware. Install TWRP. Enter recovery (hold Vol- and power to start phone) install your preferred root option. Then connect your phone via ADB (step 5) to find your operator modem per step 3. Continue with Step 6&7. Start your phone.
I have tested this using existenZ 5.5. Theoretically should work for any Xperia phones with an OEM partition, however each phone might have a different modem name for the same operator ( I know this to be the case between the XZP and the XXP), however if you get the bit in between 'modelname_' and '_tar' and follow the same process for editing the modem.conf file you should get the same results.
Credit to
@sdugoten for Unlock, TWRP and ROOT guide
@akshay2shah for informing me of the modem selector tool for other Xperias
@VeixES for informing me of the oem.sin partition and modem.conf files
@niaboc79 for existenZ ROM (highly recommended)
@SGH-i200 and @pbarrette for testing and coming up with an easier way to use this (step 11)
Wipe all partition. It's too difficult.
Is it possible to enable VoWiFi for this device.? My phone carrier supports both VoWiFi and VoLTE on newer Sony Model. But only supports VoLTE on X Performance......
would not be a more detailed guide?

Is your operator an MVNO? You could try and see if using the underlying carrier modem is present? Otherwise see if another operator in your country's modem settings work ( unlikely but your only other option is to try till you have a modem setting that works). You could try looking at the apns-conf.xml file and see if there is an operator with similar settings if you know them.

If you got an mbn file it might work. However I suspect that it contains modem specific files if you copied it across from one device family (Xperia X , Xperia xz for example) it theoretically could work. I would imagine you would need to set permissions on the mbn file once copied I would think 1744 would do it but I'm not an expert on Android filesystem permissions. You could always do ls -la in terminal on the folder and replicate those permissions.
