Ok, so I bought my third Atrix today. This one is for a friend of mine. When I picked it up the only thing that seemed to not work is the finger print scanner. I did everything I could think of software wise to get it to work with no success.
I came to the conclusion that it must be a hardware issue. I tore mine apart and the "new" one swapped my known good scanner in and works with no issues.
I looked on ebay found nothing but housings. Does anyone know where I can find a scanner, or does anyone have a parts phone that they can sell me a good one for a fair price?
I have also tried to search for parts, the only place that seems to sell some parts are globaldirectparts maybe worth sending them an email.
There is a post in these forums with a link to a replacement fingerprint scanner you can by online. A quick search should find it.
EDIT:
Screw it... here is what I found on my first search.

thank you for posting something I can use. I tried searching for a while and all I could find were links to roms that didn't support the scanner.
In my efforts to get the phone rooted and ready for use the volume down button also stopped working for no real reason. So now I am stuck.
Flash touch recovery, and flash a Tom that supports a fp scanner. And all Tom's arebrooted now anyways. So that should get you rolling

I dont know if you read the origonal post. But i swapped the sensor with another to prove it was the issue. I need a new sensor not a software issue.
And cnn.cn didn't have anything listed. I checked already.
Hey there,
Here is a suggestion, try looking for Atrix that suffer from Hard bricks and tare use them as spare parts for you own 2.
They shouldn't cost to much, and I guess you could find some on ebay.
finger print is good idea

Yes, I have tried this already once. I ended up fixing what was wrong with the phone that was supposed to be for parts.
I ordered another one now that has no way in hell of being repairable(cost more than the last one that got repaired). So the goal is to swap the logic board into the new one and save the rest for a rainy day.
This will be my 5th atrix
1. was lost to a cab driver
2. is going strong
3. is the dud that needs work (bought for a friend)
4. is the parts phone that is now the nicest one and repaired (keep around as a backup/ loner)
5. is on its way to complete 3
Good thing I bought the screen protector with a lifetime warranty .
and first enter twrp..
after locked..
and new video(uptaded.)
MOD EDIT: information removed
Are you working on this ?
I watch your video. You are the king. This is what we all waiting for. Tnx
Seems promising. The relock part anyway.
So unlock bootloader coming soon as in you've finished it or know how to finish it? Or are you working on it? Because if you're working on it? Yes. I know the bounty is high but you could share it with someone else that has the knowledge to help and it might be easier. Splitting the bounty halfway is still a lot.
Amazing!!! Hope i get my H815p unlocked soon :fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
Its a G2 in the video the G4 has no indent next to the earphone speaker neither does the G3 the G2 does. Hes had 2 threads removed for posting this garbage under different headings already
If you can really UNLOCK boot loader of all LG G4 Variants its just fantastic....!
Eagerly waiting for UNLOCK....:fingers-crossed:!
Trolling..... Again.......
So this guy is full of sh*t?
The screen seems slightly curved, so I would not be so fast to call him a lier.
Can you please send a video with the about phone screen ?
Edit: I contacted the given mail address and will let you informed about the outcome.
Let us all pray

It's clearly not a G2! I have one here and the G2 looks different. He just hast a screenprotector on his screen and the indent is for some sensors. I can see these sensor on my G4.... i guess you were too fast.
seems this isn't a new unlock method. he's found the trick to relock an already unlockable H815 EUR model... then unlocks it again.
LG has every IMEI in a database that signed up to get an unlock.bin from them and may still be able to know you applied to unlock the device... even if there is no "Device Unlocked!" status on boot. Might fool a lazy LG employee or unsuspecting buyer.
but... maybe I'm wrong and there's more besides what's shown in video.

You can choose a charity if you want
Really hoping to test this soon.
first, are there any differences between the "f" variant, and the "s" variant? everything i've read has them exactly alike. then, my number one pet peive with my new s7e so far is that when i restart it, it won't allow me to unlock it with my fingerprint, and wants a password instead. i really hate this, and have not seen anything from anyone about it, or how to fix it.
Actually, this has been answered numerous times. Can't get rid of it. Just like Apple iPhone in that respect.

Unfortunately it's one of the newer security features just like the double lock feature after using an app to turn off the screen. There's no way around this but it's definitely more secure if someone were trying to access your phone. A small nuscience for higher security. If you disabled screen lock I think it goes away.

yeah, i get why they are doing it, but i don't get why they put it in and don't allow the USER/OWNER to make a decision to keep it or not. android is open source, and as such nothing should be locked down like this. but in this, there is something i still am missing. why is it any more secure to have to put a password in, than your fingerprint after restarting? actually, it would seem to me, that anytime you have to type a password, you stand a chance of someone else seeing it, or keylogging it. but a fingerprint is only yours, and no one else has it. so what am i missing about this being more secure? and btw, thanks for the response.
The fingerprint sensor works great for me. Although I did have to recalibrate it once again since I didn't do it properly the first time. Also the difference between the F and the S variant is the region they are meant to be sold on. The F is generally for Europe while the S is for Korea.
Is it that much of an inconvenience? How many times a day do you restart your phone?

yeah, i get the region thing. what i was asking for, was to see about using the same custom roms and kernels. everything i have read says that they have the exact same hardware in them. so i am wondering if they can use the same custom roms and kernels?
So I have had this device for a few days and have tried every PC and apk one click method and to no success have I rooted this device. The hardware specs are fantastic for a device this affordable and I've never seen one like it for this price. If root could be developed, this would be a great device for developers to test root applications and test their Roms. The audio quality for wired headsets isnt very likeable and doesn't have very much increase. I would like to see a bootloader unlock. Custom kernel and a CyanogenMod 13 rom for this device and am willing to pay any developers who think they can crack the device 200$ over PayPal to get this device going! Pm me and drop some comments to tell me weather you think you can do it or not.
Thanks in advance for any help and progress!

Don't reinvent the wheel. Look around on the internet before you post. We don't have root yet but have a busy community at

Always look before you try and reinvent the wheel
Btw they are working quite hard. They don't ask for money but if you have a phone to donate it would probably be helpful
androidforums dot com; look for root bounty there, they will gladly accept your donation......

I'm sure theres a back door to unlock it. It's a T.mobile device normally there good about unlocked bootloaders but it appears it's ZTE not T.mobile so. If the note 4 gets the BL unlocked i'm sure it'll happen for the ZTE.
Hrm
I'm looking forward to a bootloader unlock. I bought the phone off a buddy and can't wait to do some bootloader fooling around with it.
I made the mistake of updating to the latest ZTE update for the MetroPCS one but of course instantly disabled all the MetroPCS apps preloaded.
Any word?
Me too....
My z981 is freezing and I get numerous system ui not responding, chrome not responding, all apps basically have to reboot it, after a little while does it again. Any news on a root?
No one can make a rom for ZTE V9820
I think all hope is lost on this phone. The only solution now is to abamdon it altogether and not ever buy anything else from ZTE.
I will give my ZMAX Pro z981 for Research
I have a ZTE ZMAX Pro, I am willing to submit for root research if anybody is willing to trade a Samsung phone with at least a 5.7 inch display.
Today while messing with my Google Nexus Player I came across this.
It's a disclaimer with what might be some extremely useful information. I took a picture.

I just bought a zmax pro Mon.day for $30, by adding a line=$50/mo for 2 lines.
I can drop the 2nd service in a month and port my number to the ZTE later.
I also refused/discarded the OTA to B20, it's on B14 right now. Been playing with and liking this phone but time will tell how well it continues to behave.
Wait, you want to trade a $30 ZTE and get a $500 Samsung in return? That's funny
Really people....?

I mean, we have root. It's just a matter of getting secure boot out of our way. I would be more than happy to send you an invite to our server jcase if you want to know more... We could use someone with actual experience.
Have you got any farther?
Lol this is an old thread but i just found a zmax pro on the side of the rode riding my fixie. Only zte phone i liked was the original zmax back in 2016 i think had that thing running lollipop custom rom. I see zte still makes it hard to root phones and modify what you want tho. Guess i could care less about profiting or even keeping this thing as a backup. Currently trying to get in touch with the owners wife and daughter in his contacts.
i change this garbage phone zte max pro 981 to galaxy s9 plus
and same problem the phone dont have any root really phone company in usa are garbage other country dont do any of that its just in usa
Hi,
I'm planning to buy a 2nd hand OP2.
Can anyone guide me what are the thing i should check on meet up?
First, how can i diagnose if there is any hardware issues?
Second, how would i know if it is refurbish?
Third, if the boot-loader is locked or unlocked?
And please add if there is something more that i should check.
I just want to be safe and make my small money worth it. Thanks
Hardware issues...
Fingerprint not working, most recurring cause is moisture.
Slow charge... software wakelocks, Cable/charger
Bad battery, for me normal ussage when new was at least 4.5hours sot 1.5 years later it's around 3.5hours sot.
Refurbished?? Who knows.
Check developer setings if oem unlock is active or run this command on adb
fastboot oem device-info
