After Nougat update i am experiencing a really drop in quality from the speakers. They sound really noissy, saturated and they cripple a lot, specially at high volume. I notice it in music and in notifications sound. In marshmallow the sound was amazing and now i feel it sound like crap.
Does anyone have the same problem or are just my speakers. Even the voice in youtube videod has s noissy horrible sound..
Thanks!
I only noticed that sound volume is lovered, especially in youtube app.
Someone else had mentioned this in another thread (can't find it atm), but most people replied they didn't have that issue so it was thought this was a one-off problem, and to my knowledge no one else mentioned it again here or on other forums I frequent.
I would suggest starting with a full factory reset, and test with just the stock device prior to any unnecessary apps being loaded. This upgrade is pretty big, a factory upgrade is recommended if you have any issues at all.

Allready did a factory reset! Also Motorola block the acces to sound seetings so you can't change the speaker equalization, etc, it is imposible for an app to change the general system audio output, only in app sound can be changed.
Thanks anyway!

I'm going to try to explain this as thoroughly as possible.
So I have been having this issue with every single 7.0 preview and now it has followed me into the actual 7.0 release. My in call speaker phone and regular volume is very low. I have no idea why this is. The headphones sound is fine, playing music through the speakers is fine, it is just whenever I get into a call that the volume drops. It is very hard to hear the other person. The other person can hear me easily, however. This issue never appeared while I was on Marshmallow, only exists on Nougat. I am rooted, so I do have the ability to do whatever root fix exists, although I have tried a few, including editing the mixer paths.xml.
Anyone also have this issue and have a fix or anything related to it? I REALLY don't want to roll back to Marshmallow if I can help it.
Do you have viper4android installed??
I also had this problem but it was only after installing viper4android. I reflashed the system image getting rid of viper and everything went back to normal. There is a conflict somewhere but I haven't figured it out yet.
Good day everyone. I bought one of these receivers without too much research, not knowing there was a big community. This is a true no name...not a joying or Wilson but it looks like those brands.
Everything works find except for one fatal flaw that makes it unusable for me... hah!
Music through USB (flac,mp3,wav) or most apps (soundcloud,VLC) seem to have a "night mode" or "equal volume" effect on music like we would see on home theaters. Anytime two or more sounds play, the loudest sound(could be anything, like a cymbal) will play lower than it should and all the other sounds (voices, instruments) that were already playing before the loud sound will then sound much lower in volume until the loud sound goes away then the regular sounds play louder... It makes it impossible to listen to music.
The strange part is this doesn't happen through the radio nor through the CD (Different apps). I've tried a bunch of music apps and they all sound bad playing source form usb.
Somehow Netflix sounds fine though...
Music sounds bad through Bluetooth from my phone too accept if I stream them with my NAS's Qfile application... then it sounds fine somehow... I don't get it. Clearly software related.
Contacting the seller is no help.
Anyone else ever encounter this? Fix or suggestions?

See my development thread, I've become an expert on this thing.
Do a factory reset. Otherwise, you will have to wait till I port it over to Marshmellow.
Setting icon, then more settings, then back up reset.

Thanks, I've done that already(twice) with no affect.
I assume you mean the RKPX3 / Rock Pro / RK3188 / RADXA Android Car Head Unit - Master Thread ?
I'll have a look.

Any idea what is causing certain apps to get that strange processing but not others?
So I think I've discovered a major bug across all ROMS. It seams that our DACs are not processing audio correctly. I've tried every single ROM on this form and to date I have not found one that does not exhibit some sort of distortion or sound abnormalities compared to stock. I've also tired installing multiple audio mods to no avail, some of them actually make the static/distortion worse. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

What that other guy said about the proper forum....
Anway... So this bug...
What does it sound like?
What frequencies are distorting? Highs? Mids? Lows? Everyting?
At a certain volume?
A certain app or all apps or system wide?
Wired headphones, wireless headphones, bluetooth speaker, phone speaker?
Kernel?
ROM?
I cant think of what else I would normally ask but that about covers everything.
In other words, we need a lot more detail just to identify the issue.
When I first got the V20, one of the things I was always impressed by was the speaker. It was loud, clear, and it seemed like LG had implemented some sort of volume compression/limiting to keep things clear without clipping or distortion. I rooted the phone about six months ago, finally, and have tried a few custom ROMs. Some amazing work done by the people here, but it seems that the speaker no longer sounds anywhere near as good, and it often crackles and distorts when playing anything just slightly above hearing level. I reflashed the h918 stock mod and all was taken care of, but I don't wanna be stuck with a stock ROM and lose the versatility being rooted brings. Another thing I noticed was that when I send audio messages on Facebook Messenger, they don't record nearly as loud and clear as they do with the stock ROM.
I'm currently using LOS16 with Gamma Kernel (SS).
I was wondering if anyone could maybe figure out what LG did with their speaker (and possibly mic) settings and find a way to implement them somehow with a mod? I'm not sure if this can be done via XML or anything like that. I just hate how all my custom ringtones sound now and having YouTube, my music player, and anything crackle has just taken my enjoyment of these ROMs a notch. Maybe even come up with some similar settings via Viper4Android using the compression tool?
Thanks a lot of any help!
I would like to preface this by saying I love all the Custom ROM's available, especially the Android 10 ones. But, I've noticed one problem shared by all the ROM's I've tested so far (almost all). It's that the mic quality is simply horrible on every single one of them. The first thing I do when I download a Custom ROM is to test the mic using the Google Recorder app and so far, no custom ROM has even come close the loudness and quality of stock. I wouldn't mind if the mic quality was bad, but that's not the biggest problem. The biggest problem is that the mic VOLUME is extremely low. I have to shout while calling just so the other person can hear me. How do I fix this problem? The same problem cropped up a lot on Pie ROM's too. I've tried editing the mixer_paths.xml but I don't really know where to look.
I would greatly appreciate if anyone could help me. Cheers.

Use kernel with mic gain and increase it to your liking.
