I hate that the most of my internal storage are wastet for unused stuff like 400kb(!)images which we never use so I done some hard work and createt 64 nulldat files to replace them in the /windows folder.
This means that a existing file gets overwritten with a file which is 0 byte small. I though it might be helpful if I share those files here but i dont take any responsibility if someone looses any important file.
SO MAKE A BACKUP BEFORE OVERWRITING ANYTHING!
Once a file is gone you cant get it back without a hardware reset so be careful!
Let me know if this is useful for you guys and maybe make some before/after screenshots
Good Luck!
OR .. you can actually just delete those image and sound files which are not rquired.
Nope you cant because they are protectet... why else did I create those files?
Guys, I've made something very dumb - I played around with Application Data\Manila\InternetPortal-en-US.xml file and forgot to make a backup
I've messed it up, and now I don't remember the path to the original internet icon.. was a long path ending with banner.qtc or something..
Can someone please post contents of this file or just the path to that original icon?
Much appreciated.
here you go and your welcome
Thank you very much =)
I definitely wouldn't call my self a noob but also would never call myself a programmer or a pro by any means. I can change the framework-res.apk with out any problems and am getting the hang of different theming from messing around with that. I have read just about every tutorial that I can get my hands on too but haven't found anything regarding com.htc.resources.apk. The are files in that apk that I want to change but every time I even change the smallest png in there when I push with adb or droid explorer or simply copy and paste with root exp I get bootloops no matter what. I've tried signed unsigned nothing seems to work. If it matters Im running CMYLXGO's HD build on NAND. And I've been told that com.htc.resources.apk is a "sensitive" file but based on others themes and build I imagine that there has to be a way to modify it. So please any advice or ideas are very welcome...thanks so much in advance.
+1
I can replace com.htc.resources, BUT millions of FCs
Even if I replace it with the original file!!
Can somebody help us?
I think you need to set permissions
I want to change the sound that the phone makes when you adjust the volume and it goes BEEP...
I can't seem to find it in the system/media/ui...
I then went into QtADB and used the logcat, and tried to locate the file. I found the sound file and it says this:
getActualDefaultRingtoneUri : content://media/internal/audio/media/62
Uri.parse(uriString) : content://media/internal/audio/media/62
sendVolumeUpdate VOLUME_CHANGED_ACTION streamType=2
Can anyone tell me where this media/internal/audio folder is?
When I go into system/media folder all that's available is an audio and video folder.
Thanks
Not to be a pain but this is really bugging me I really wanna know where this file is at... Anyone??? I know there is someone here that knows.
Its a hidden file I guess due to the period before the name:
.config_c38
If I delete it, it comes right back. Just trying to track down what app might be making that. Thanks.
Just curious ... what happens if you chmod it to read-only (don't know the exact command, but look it up), and empty the contents of the file?
Also, another question: why are you trying to delete it, if you don't know what it is?
Its just me being a neat freak. Like to keep the Root clean of junk. Now that I think about it, I guess it is a bit silly to be worrying about a tiny hidden file there.
I have this file too (HTC Desire, stock Froyo). Any ideas what it is?
